    Cradle Mountain Round 6 team

Out: T Sonsie (omitted), J Bowey (omitted)
    In: J Steele, J Lever

    Def: N Vlastuin, J Lever, D Rich, D Heppell (J Laverde)
    Mid: S Pendlebury, J Steele, J Hopper, S Sidebottom (T Sonsie)
    Ruc: T English
    Fwd: D Zorko, A Naughton, J Gresham, J Riewoldt (T Membrey)
    Int: R Marshall, R Ginbey (J Bowey)

In the clash between the last two ORFFA premiers 2021 flag winners Cradle Mountain have been strengthened with the return of captain Jack Steele and defender Jake Lever for their Round 6 home game against reigning premiers, @anthak's Gariwerd Cockatoos. Defender Jake Bowey and forward/midfielder Tyler Sonsie have been omitted by the Devils and both players have been named as emergencies.

Sixth placed Cradle Mountain and ninth placed Gariwerd both enter the match with a record of three wins and two losses. The winning team will gain four valuable premiership points which will ensure that they finish the round higher on the ladder than their opponent. Perhaps fittingly for two teams that used to battle it out for the mediocrity cup the losing team will be mid-table with a balanced ledger of three wins and three losses.

Well, that's that done. Two guys subbed out with barely 20 points between them and Marshall to miss weeks.

Depth is the key now. Cull again, draft again.

Ive just made a big blue!

Ive been busy with RL stuff and just realised a few minutes ago that Id forgotten to pick my Orffa team this round! So i went in ts leagues to see if it was still open, and it was, so I cleared my team, but then realised the Geelong game was about to start, so I left it to wait until after the first bounce, reloaded it, and the cleared team had saved! I never knew that happened. So all my Geelong and Sydney players are locked out.

Is it possible for me to include them now even though their game just started a minute ago! I would be grateful if allowed to just keep them in the same positions they were last week, which is how they wouldve been had I not cleared my team a minute before the first bounce of their game

    So that would just be:
    Zach Tuohy in Def
    Max Holmes in Mid
    Cam Guthrie on the interchange

I have set my team and left those positions blank. Let me know if I need to fill them with other available players.

This would be my team if allowed to include my three Geelong players (which I naively removed just 1 minute before they locked out):

    Gariwerd Cockatoos

DEF: Angus Brayshaw, Aidan Corr, Aaron Hall, Zach Tuohy (Hugo Ralphsmith)
MID: Touk Miller, Rory Laird, Seb Ross, Max Holmes (Sam Durham)
    RUCK: Sam Draper
FWD: Taylor Walker, Alex Neal-Bullen, Brad Hill, Jack Darling (Michael Frederick)
INT: Willem Drew, Cam Guthrie (Andrew Phillips)

I was just about to set it up differently because I hadn’t yet heard whether this will be allowed, but I’ll just be bringing the emergencies onfield anyway, so I’ll just leave it how it is to give the Commish more time to respond. @Bandit

    Unofficial progress score

Cradle Mountain Devils 1,052/12 Average 87.7
    Vs
    Gariwerd Cockatoos 1,147/14 Average 81.9

Halfway through the last quarter Gariwerd have the higher total 1,147 to 1,052, however Cradle Mountain have three more players still to take the field to the lone remaining Cockatoo Sam Draper. Devils are ahead on average 87.7 to 81.9.

It is effectively the three remaining Devils - S Pendlebury, S Sidebottom & D Heppell

VS the Cockatoos lead of 95 + Sam Draper.

The Gariwerd Cockatoos tally includes their Geelong Cats trio of Cam Guthrie, Holmes and Tuohy. These players were all in the Cockatoos team at the start of the round and @anthak was quick to advise that he had inadvertently removed them from his team at the Geelong vs Swans lockout but wanted them to be included in the game.

Cradle Mountain have provided a more consistent team performance this round, have no sub 60 scores so far and eight scores of 75+ including two tons to Tim English (131) and Nick Vlastuin (121). The Devils are on track to register their second highest score of the season which is a massive window given their season-high is 1,564 and their second highest score in 2023 is 1,243.

The Cockatoos were flying high at half-time, leading the Devils by 103 points 737 to 634.The script flipped in the second half and things started to go awry in dramatic fashion for the Cockatoos with three sub 50 scores including in injury impacted 40 for Touk Miller. With four players still to take the field the Cockatoos have three of the best four players in the game who have all scored 125+ Willem Drew (134), Taylor Walker (130) and Rory Laird (126).

For those playing along at home.

@anthak and @dmandrews have agreed to let Ant's named team including geelong players be the starting lineup.

Given this was all posted within a couple of minutes of the bounce, and both coaches agree, let's just move on.

Thanks everyone involved for understanding and helping to rectify it.
    We live and learn.

However, I think Ive ended up losing the game, so may not have been worth the worry.
