    Round 9 (AFL 9) 24/5 - 26/5
    Geek Pride round
Round 9 is the first of the returning themes of 2012 - Geek Pride round. Geek Pride day is on may 25th and we figure it is quite geeky to play in a fantasy football competition such as this :) ... There are actually quite a few significant days on the 25th and 26ht May that the geek's had to fight off... and they did.

With Chris88 unavailable to do a writeup this week, and nobody else putting their hand up to fill in, I have managed to put together a brief recap of round 8.

A fairly high scoring game saw the Cows run out winners. Highest scorers were Boyd and Rance for Darraweit Guim and Taylor and Fyfe for Waikikamoocow.

6 Lovely Banks 1028 lost to Mount Beauty 1037
An extremely close match saw the Uglies win by just 9 points in a very low scoring game! The only centurian for the winners was Cotchin and for Lovely Banks they had Adcock, Lucas and Ballantyne reach triple figures.

7 Venus Bay 1377 defeated Charlies Opening 1345
Another high scoring game, with Charlies opening unlucky to lose this week scoring greater than 1300. Best scorers were Watson and Mundy for Venus Bay and Montagna and Swallow for the Opening.

8 Foul Bay 1413 defeated Wagga Wagga 1281
The defending champs record probably their most comfortable victory of the season against a high flying Wagga Wagga. Best scorers were Kerridge for Wagga Wagga and Bartel, Dangerfield and Vince for the Foul Bay.

    Round 10 (AFL 10) 31/5 - 3/6

    International World's Whore Day

International World Whore Day is on June 2nd, and in the words of one of the esteemed members of the Match Committee: 'Am all for International World's Whore Day - albeit not compulsory to consort.' Most of us are wage slaves in this world and it is important to support our fellow workers, the sex workers, on a day such as this. Maybe, because of the occasion, the lads from Marble Bar may be lucky enough to stay at 'The Hen House' as the Cockatoos did last season.
