We have a problem folks State of Origin this year is going to be very tough for me to run given the current state. Let me explain: I usually use a spreadsheet to track players against clubs, which is a combination of the TS stats page, and our all singing all dancing Team list sheet that we use for drafts etc The key field that I need to match one sheet to another is the 'UID' number, which is the unique identifier each player has, and is supplied by Supercoach. However, this year, for some reason, Supercoach has allocated a whole stack of new UIDs to players who are not new, in fact have been in the AFL for many years. There are 138 of these changes this year. To explain what I am talking about here is a quick data dump... where the N/A sits means the UID for the player according to Supercoach doesn't match last years UID... there is another page the same size For me to get alignment on the State of Origin page so I can easily do top 10s by ORFFA team, segment players into Vic/Tas and The Others etc we would need to cross reference every single player to change the UID in the ORFFA Team List sheet to the TS/Supercoach UID to get them all to align. This is something I simply do not have the time, not intestinal fortitude to do. There is diminishing returns in this as it will change again next, because it has every year. It is just the scale of this years changes are far greater than usual. So unless someone wants to muck in and do this exercise in the next 48 hours or so, there won't be a SOO competition.
For information the ID field in TS is the record number in the TS player database matching the numbers above that is consistent year to year while each player also gets another secondary ID linked to each season which allows the career stats page to track yearly scores I am not aware of any year on year wholesale changes in the database other than the addition of draftees in the national, preseason and rookie drafts and the SSP players added later on in the piece (all these are in the range 7472 through 7990) @Bandit are you able to attach/share last year's file (which presumably worked fine at the time) for checking?
Have a look at the Google sheet we use for our team listings mate and you will see where the problem lies... in all the draft posts etc
