<strong style='font-size: 14px;]Mount Buggery Disappointments 1324 defeated Woy Woy Wizards 1238[/b]
A dominant midfield performance was enough to get MBD across the line in a key battle against the Wizards. Sidebottom saved the best until last on Sunday night smashing out a 178. Plenty of support provided by Ward 110, Rocky 126 and Wines 106. For Woy Woy, an even team performance was highlighted by Jamar with 131, K Cornes 104 and Hodge 114.
It doesn't get any easier next week for Woy Woy up against the Savages. Now a game out of the eight this is shaping as a season defining game. MBD travel to Poowong to take on the Potoroos in a second v third battle that is likely to shape the ladder at the all important pointy end.

Tarwin Lower Pigs 1101<strong style='font-size: 14px;]lost to Sarah Island Savages 1310[/b]
The top of the table Savages did enough to take the 4 points from the young TLP team who showed improved scoring from the dismal efforts of the last few weeks, but still went down by 209.
Again it was a strong midfield performance that did the job. Mundy 101, JPK 130 and Sloane 120 leading the way. Minson 112 in the ruck was far too strong for an OOP Mitch Wallis 39. Ibbo 68 came off the bench for the late withdrawal of Williams, emphasising the all-round super awesomeness of the Savages depth.
It's not all doom and gloom for the TLP. Hanley had a match high 160 with support from the ever reliable Pendles with 131 whilst the much improved Isaac Smith continued his strong season with 122. Some of the young forwards are starting to show some form with Stringer scoring a career high91 in his comeback game and Jaksch and Hunter solid if unspectacular with 64 and 78 respectively.
The Savages take on the Wizards in what should be a hard fought contest while the TLP would need continued improvement to knock off the improving lads from Coulta.

Bonn<strong style='font-size: 14px;]ie Doon Bandits 1100 lost to Poowong Potoroos 1213[/b]
Gary Ablett Jnr again led the way with a match high 157 leading the 14 man Potoroos to a 113 point win over the Bandits. Malceski 138 and Stevie J 114 with Hawkins and Brad Crouch providing a pair of 98's for the Potoroos. The Potoroos will need to fix there forward line woes if they are to challenge come finals time with the Tomahawk playing pretty much a lone hand.
For the Bandits Scott Thompson 137 lead the way with support from Gwilt 102 and Sam Gibson 128 but after that it fell away. Daisy had a shocker with 40 and Tippett returned from his latest injury with 70.
Poowong host the Disappointments in a key clash and will be watching Bulldogs selection on Thursday night closely no doubt, hoping for recalls for Campbell and Tutt. Bonnie Doon travel to Milikipati to take on the Snakes who they will fancy their chances against, however you would think that any hope of finals in 2014 are now gone.

<strong style='font-size: 14px;]Mallacoota Magicians 1325 defeated Coulta Couldabeens 1246[/b]
The Lions mozzie squad stood tall for the Magicians on Saturday night with Zorko 128 and Taylor 120 having massive games. Fyfe 158 and Barlow 111 did what they do best and Mitch Duncan 105 provided support. ‘kash will be hoping for the immediate return of Ben McEvoy as Danny Stanley 22 struggled OOP against the less than intimidating Blicavs who scored 94 for the Couldabeens.
Some positive signs for the Couldabeens though with a solid team performance highlighted by Jaspar Pittard 122, Priddis 110, Savage 104 and Burgoyne 101. Bear would no doubt have been doubly disappointed with the performance of some the Power boys, in particular Chad Wingard who has finally returned to earth after his leap a few weeks ago with a 42.
Finals appear just a dream this year for Bear and his boys although they will be expecting a win against the TLP this weekend. Mallacoota travel to Jimcumbilly in a must win for both, the Magicians to cement a top 4 berth, and the ‘rabbits to keep their finals chances alive.

Queenstown Quolls 1349 defeated Milikipati Snakes 1116
The Quolls top scored for the round comfortably accounting for the Snakes by 233 points and sending a clear message to the ORFFL community - there is more than one ORFFL team from South of Bass Straight. No one went super large for the Quolls however they had 6 players top 100 (led by the Duffman with 132) and Motlop registered a 98.
For the Snakes not a lot of positive news with Lids 116 and Kieran Jack 117 leading the way. Now sitting 11th and with a 5/7 win loss record the season is perhaps slipping away after positive signs a few weeks ago. They host Bonnie Doon this week and must return to form if they hope to participate in finals. The Quolls travel to the bottom of the table Merton in a game they would expect to win comfortably. Currently sitting 5th they only trail the Magicians by 88 points so expect them to come out firing.

<strong style='font-size: 14px;]Popanyinning Pyrite 948 lost to Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits 967[/b]
If not for the TLP/BDB game a few weeks ago this would be front runner for worst game of the year with the Jackrabbits falling over the line against the Pyrite. With both teams playing one short it was not likely to be a high scoring affair and we certainly were not let down. Andrew Swallow 134 stood tall for the Pyrite but his only mates who could hold their heads up were Lynden Dunn 89 and Matthew Lobbe 93. The Jackrabbits would have been relieved with the return of Mathew Boyd 119, who together with NDS 139 and Devon Smith 111 did enough to get their team over the line. Marco Paparone 18, whilst a promising hard running forward, is clearly not a ruckmans a-hole.
Jimcumbilly sit just one game out of the 8 and face the Magicians this week which will require a substantially improved effort if they expect to stay in the hunt for finals. For the 17th placed Pyrite a trip to Purnululu awaits. They are surely looking towards 2015 now.

Smiths Beach Seagulls 1217 lost to Merton Merkats 1248
Merton broke a long running losing streak and effectively ended the season for new coach L6. Surprise, surprise Merton's return to the winners circle coincided with the Tigers notching a win against the Saints. Rance, Foley, Cotchin, Jack Roo and Dusty all tonned up, with Maric, Edwards, Miles and Vickery all 80+. Harwood sat on the defensive bench when he could have been used on the interchange, however it didn't matter with the Tiger's doing enough. For SBS, the forward line showed some fight with Buddy, Danger and Luke Parker all reaching 3 figures, however Goodes OOP in the ruck couldn't do enough to get his team over line.
This week sees Merton up against the Quolls and Smiths Beach travelling to Warburton.

Glenrowan Gunslingers 1220 defeated Purnululu Bungle Rangers 1194
In a close contest the Gunslingers did enough to get across the line by 26 against the PBR. Bartel led the way with 123 with support from the Collingwood Beams 108, JOM 112, Dahlhaus 111 and Matt White 101. Witts' big score went idle on the bench although at the end of the day it didn't matter. Cyril will be a loss but he still managed to score as only Cyril can.
For the PBR Joel Selwood, David Swallow, Matthew Broadbent, Paddy Ryder and Mark LeCras all raised the bat. Heath Shaw's early end to the night proved costly only registering 24, whlist Sam Mayes 25 and Libba 65 had disappointing nights.
The win sees the Gunslingers a game clear in 8th and facing the 7th placed Hammerheads this week. An 8 point game if ever I have seen one. For the PBR they host the Pyrite and will need to win to keep alive any hopes of finals.

Warburton Wanderers 1135<strong style='font-size: 14px;]lost to Humpty Doo Hammerheads 1286[/b]
A big win for the Hammerheads which sets them up nicely to finish in the Top 8. Big Sauce Jacobs dominated with a commanding 163. Support from experienced campaigners Chris Judd 118 and Andrew Mackie 104 bodes well for the rest of the season. The Wanderers couldn't do it for the Brown Dog, playing one short in defense. Hill 146 and Lewis 142 both went large but it wasn't enough. EddieV will no doubt see this as one that got away and damages their claims to a top 4 spot, slipping to 6th.
Next week sees the Hammerheads taking on the 8th placed Gunslingers. For Warburton a must win game against the Seagulls.
