[span style='font-family: Arial;]Okay folks, same deal as last week (without the split round/split lockout). The team entry is still not yet up and running so post your teams in this thread before Friday night's game commences.

[span style='font-family: Arial;]SARAH ISLAND SAVAGES891/9 (11th, 1267) vs COULTA COULDABEENS 896/11 (15th, 1140)
[span style='font-family: Arial;]Has the jar broken for good? That is the big question going into this match and one the Couldabeens certainly hope is the case and one the Savages will want to make a clear statement on this week. The strategy is simple, just score insanely well to beat them and Coulta will need to make up a couple hundred more points this week to do that.
[span style='font-family: Arial;]
[span style='font-family: Arial;]Helping their cause is NicNat and Waite still out with injuries sustained in the pre-season. Also Garrick Ibbotson has been awol since he was last seen entering Keplar Bradley's house. Zaharakis comes back into the side of Coulta which should improve their scores but Cassisi is still out and they'll be hoping to avoid the dreaded green vests this week.

[span style='font-family: Arial;]MALLACOOTA MAGICIANS 1272/14 (2nd, 1357) vs WARBURTON WANDERERS 581/10 (9th, 1288)
[span style='font-family: Arial;]One of the matches of the round with the minor premiers wanting to comeback from defeat and avoiding starting the season 0-2 as well as another strong favourite in the Magicians wanting to get back to back wins to have a stellar start to the season.
[span style='font-family: Arial;]
[span style='font-family: Arial;]Danny Stanley and Wellingham are still out for the Magicians which are their only selection concerns whereas the Wanderers have a depleted backine with Rivers getting injured, Armstrong omitted and Thornton and Howard still in the magoos which means they'll be banking on Darley being a late-replacement for GWS. Their midfield and D1 are in red hot form though so expect them to carry the side and make this a close one.

[span style='font-family: Arial;]MERTON MEERKATS 949/13 (7th, 1225)vs MILIKAPATI SNAKES 768/9 (17th, 1001)
[span style='font-family: Arial;]Punt Road Meerkats face the young team from Milikapati, which got floored last week, with the second lowest-score as main starters like Pavlich, Greene, Hurley and Gaff all posted pitiful scores. Their backline is weakened even more with Murdoch out so they'll be hoping for Birchall to step up again and their midfield engine room is bolstered by Kelly coming back for the Cats.
[span style='font-family: Arial;]
[span style='font-family: Arial;]Richmond are playing the Saints this week so Merton should be registering some big scores and will again be competitive for the win. Pettard in should help cover for Nahas out. Playing on Friday Night at least the Snakes will know what score they need to get for the rest of the week.

POOWONG POTOROOS 798/11 (4th, 1304) vs TORRUMBARRY THUNDA 1042/11 (14th, 1179)
After the West Gippy rumble the ‘Roos are on a role and their side will remain mostly unchanged and with the biggest slider in the Pre-Season Draft in Crouch playing this week they'll be an even more daunting task to defeat. To think they still have Stevie J and the Mighty Daw to come into the side. Scary.
The Thunda were hurt last week by top guns such as Franklin and Dangerfield spudding up (and a certain rookie not even making the team sheet) so their scores should bounce back up they would hope. Dempster and Schneider are back in the Saints side and will be up for selection.

QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS 837/10 (1st, 1497) vs MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS 718/9 (3rd, 1326)
Two of the top teams from round one will face off to see who may end up in first place after this round and for the early title of team to beat this year. After a cracking score just shy of 1500 the Quolls will bring in Tom Bell and with Hampson out, Cordy takes over in the rucks.
Disappointments have plenty to be optimistic about with Palmer back and also Roughead who should go back to his normal production rates, they are expected to post another high score. Lycett and Maguire out will cause a re-shuffle with the MIA Watts who can move into the forward line and Butler may get a start in defence. Expect an end to end high scoring affair, definitely put this match on your iQ.

BONNIE DOON BANDITS (16th, 1092) vs POPANYINNING PYRITE 876/10 (6th, 1221)
A match up that will be season-defining for both teams, and every cliché in between. The Bandits were struggling to field a full side last week having to resort to OOP players and this week things look the same although at least its slightly better with Joel Corey back but several other are players still unavailable or under injury clouds. Youngsters like Masten, Coniglio, Golby, Hibberd will all need to step up and fulfil their potential or it will be another long season.
For the Pyrite they have relatively little change with Eddie Betts now out with an injured jaw meaning de Boer should make his first start and Lobbe/Jenkins pick themselves in the rucks with Clarke and Currie still down the pecking order.

JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS 732/9 (13th, 1255) vs TARWIN LOWER PIGS 926/11 (12th, 1261)
Both sides suffered unlucky losses despite good scores and they'll be looking to atone this week and send a rival oh-en-two. The ‘Rabbits are strengthened by the return of Fisher and more importantly Luey in the ruck but are still without new recruit Boyd and young midfielder Rosa yet they still possess a strong midfield that can fire.
The Pigs will want to put the memory of the bitter loss to their rivals behind them and should name a mostly unchanged squad with only young Cornelius being omitted from Brisbane forcing a change in Tarwin's forward line and a start to number one draft pick, Jon Patton.

GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS 751/10 (5th, 1255)vs HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS (9th, 1155)
Two of the cellar-dwellers from last season face off already with a win on the board in a contest which will be a great kick start to the season for whoever is the victor. Glenrowan will need their youngsters to fire again in the absence of Beams and Bock but there's no reason why they shouldn't and there is still a bunch of young talent on their list ready to explode.
Despite the win the Hammerheads and no more outs from last week they will be hoping for an improvement in their scoring and will need some of their fringe-15 players to step up (like Gunston, Shiels, Jetta, Varcoe, Mackay) and post scores on the other side of 70.

WOY WOY WIZARDS 856/12 (18th, 991) vs PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS 803/11 (8th, 1221)
Two teams with polar opposite round 1 results and scores will face each other in the final match of the round. For the Rangers they bolted out the gate well and will try to ride that momentum to get off to a flawless start. For the Wizards who were absolutely decimated by injuries and omission last week it will be a chance to get their score heading in the right direction.
Thankfully they have a few more options available with selection with Bird back in the forward line and defenders McMahon and McDonald returning as well as Montagna and Hodge to beef up the midfield. LeCras continued misfortune makes the Purnululu forward line look shakier but they should have sufficient coverage and it will be a chance to try some of their youngsters.
