Something ORFFL happened over the weekend, so let's get to it.
SARAH ISLAND SAVAGES 1337 DEF COULTA COULDABEENS 1280
Rumours of the jar being smashed for good proved unfounded as the Savages stormed to victory. The ruck battle was completely one-sided as Minson's 143 towered over Redden's 29 which did not help. The defence stood up and returned to form for the Savages with 129 from Goddard, Frawley with 117 and Chaplin 99. The rest were average to good with JJK again tonning up (103) and the ever reliable JPK scoring 108. Harry Taylor decided to do a round 1 Chaplin with a paltry 44 which would be a concern and Hocking's half-century is even more surprising considering the slice of pie Essendon got of the 3300. Mayne burnt out from last week, managed just 61.
In what could have been for the Couldabeens, they managed to get a good score thanks mainly to the 'Hoff benefiting from playing against a NEAFL side, scoring a massive 163. Lynch too enjoyed taking over ruck duties thanks to Jolly's demise and his 114 could be repeated in weeks to come. Other solid contributors include Priddis (113), Zaha getting a full game (103) and Ebert in an emotional match (100) on bench, all passing the century mark. Pittard getting his first game for Coulta did not disappoint either scoring 91 but low scores from the aforementioned Redden and others like Adam Kennedy (53), Schultz (66) and under-performing forward-mid Wright (61) meant an easy win for the Savages but good signs for Coulta to break their duck egg in the future.
MALLACOOTA MAGICIANS 1322 DEF WARBURTON WANDERERS 988.5
Another smashing performance from the Magicians sees them as one of the early season favourites with a 344pt victory over the Wanderers. All lines were firing with Crameri scoring 139 in the forward line, Big Mac 130 for St.Kilda in the ruck, Fyfe showing his class with 127 and McViegh showing he's not past it with a huge 144. The oldster of the first-round pre-season draft recruits Walters scored a century again which helped. From hero to zero for Siposs who scored only 33 and the likes of Duncun (50), Rance (47) and Bennell (53) were lucky others stood up but shows the potential here if all players start firing.
Not a lot went right for the Wanderers who now find themselves straggling down the bottom of the table 0-2. Boak scoring 123 showed he's development to become and elite mid but with Kreuzer in the ruck (109) were the only tons, Clay Smith's 111 off the field would have hurt. It doesn't help with 'prems' such as Sylvia and Higgins score 21 and 48 respectively, nor the millionaire Scully with 47 or with Port's round 1 hero Hartlett with a paltry 38. Depth is also a concern with having to play Bailey out of position in defence meant his 103 was cut to 51.5. Last year's Minor Premiers will hope some of their vagabonds were to form quickly.

MERTON MEERKATS 1108 DEF BY MILIKAPATI SNAKES 1256
The Snakes rebounded from last week's performances to get their first win on the board. Delidio and Jack both posted good hitouts again (114 and 130 respectively) with Birchall as well revelling in his role on the back flank with Suckling out registering 126. The forward line clicked this week, rebounding from bad round one efforts, with Pavlich 96, Bruest 98 and even Hurley getting 99. Negatives for them will be Tuohy's 53 continuing his poor form and Gaff's 47, which is even worse than last week.
For Merton, even though the Tigers got the win it was not enough to register a big score. Cotchin (119) and Maric (106) led from the front and Grigg and Dusty scored 92 each but there were not a lot of scores from the rest. Tuck's 58 and Jackson's 48 hurt their midfield as well as Spurr (51) and Batchelor (49) crashing down from their good scores last week, crippling the backline. They massively need Zorko to step up from his second-year blues and play like he did before.

POOWONG POTOROOS 1274 DEF BY TORRUMBARRY THUNDA 1433
A massive result from the Thunda saw them top-score for the round and register their first win. Things went well from the start with Bellchambers revelling as #1 ruck scoring 144 and Heppell ran riot against the helpless Dess with 149 points himself. Luke Parker scored 133 again the Giants as well and Franklin booted five on his way to 116. Dangerfield and Waters both posted above-100 scores and Brett Goodes continued his good debut form with 98. 1500 would have been gettable had it not been for Schneider (46), Otten (43) and A.Goodes (49) spudding it up.
The Potoroos put up a valiant fight with big scores from Thomspon (140) showing he's still the best midfielder at Adelaide, Cooney (124) getting back to his best and the Canadian Pyke (121) enjoying regular game time. Garland (91), SD Thompson (98) and Hawkins (91) all helped in their positions but the Little Master himself didn't win a game on his own shoulders like last week, scoring 99. Dickson faltered under more pressure (34) and Roughead's score (46) meant they were unable to reach the same heights as the Thunda. Crouch getting off the mark with 85 will be a highlight though, and a groan for all those coaches who passed up on him.

QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS 1267 DEF BY MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS 1358
Top of the table clash didn't disappoint and neither did the victors, the Disappointments. Despite the tactical blunder of having Wingard and his massive 145 on the pine, Mt. Buggery still won thanks largely to the unheralded Jamie Elliot and his massive 159. Sidebottom's 131 and Stanton's 128 also helped and were augmented by Goldstein's 105 in the ruck and Conca's 115 on the interchange. Most of the others stepped up too except for a few like last-weeks rookie revelation, Wines (51) as well as massive disappointment Watts (55), Hooker (49) and Palmer (53).
For Queenstown, Jobe Watson posted a massive 166 which got them off to a good start and Sammy Mitchell again went big with 134. Howlett backed up his rd1 results with 127 this week. Dixon has burst out of the blocks at the Suns getting 123. The Quolls also hit the Demon gold-mine with Howe's 116 one of the few good performances from them. They were unfortunately let down by terrible score from Jon Brown (33), Cordy (23) in the ruck, Milera (57) and debutant Bell (55) which meant a clear win for Mt Buggery who are now top of the table based on points.

BONNIE DOON BANDITS 0 DEF BY POPANYINNING PYRITE 1297
A game that unfortunately turned out to be a walkover for the Pyrite but means their season has started well going 2-0. A good week in the forward line with Reiwoldt kicking 7 on the way to 138 and Jenkins enjoying the Gabba with 105 and new signing Blair getting 99. Swallow showed he is Mr. Consistent with 111 and Shuey returned to above the ton with 102. Breakout-contender Cunnington had a bad day with only 47, Viney couldn't repeat Rd1 getting 49 and top 2 d-man Grima had a huge game-costing brain fade on his way to 62 points.
Despite not scoring the Bandits will be pleased with Griffin (102) excelling still in the rucks for Freo, Cox as well scoring big even in a loss (118) and be further buoyed by good showing from the youngsters such as Hibberd (90), Coniglio (95), Masten (93). Corey's return to game time (97) will help in matches to come. Brennan (15) copping the vest again won't help or Gia returning to his spud ways (33).

JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS 1110 DEF BY TARWIN LOWER PIGS 1296
Tarwin comfortably dispatched the Jackrabbits to get their account open for the season. Huge effort from Hanley in defence, exploding out with a 160 game despite the loss in Brisbane. Pendlebury (121) and O'Keefe (118) in the middle helped build a solid foundation for the win as did good scores from Riewoldt (111) in the forward line and Merrett (106) down back with youngster Bastinac looking good for a breakout (111) for North on the interchange. Karnezis' green vest and score of 8 would have hurt as well as Geary going cold (48) and Porps having a quiet one with 59.
For Jimcumbilly it was one extreme or the other as they attempt to get consistency in the side. Swan (103) was below his normal output, Luenberger came back with a 101 and Monfries backed up with 102. McPharlin (100), Dal Santo (96) and Petrie (91) helped but bad scores from red-vest Hams (21), Grundy (52), R Shaw (60), Gibson (65) mean the ‘Rabbits are still searching for their first win.

GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS 1226 DEF HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS 0
It was an easy win for Glenrowan in the end but they posted a good score anyway. Both young and old led the way with Jimmy Bartel getting 150 and O'Meara scoring a mighty 120. Rioli also scored 120 over in the West and the team was boosted by Hannebery's 127 and Ziebell's 98. Despite a strong midfield the defence is a bit of a concern with low scores from Firrito (33) and Nicholson (46) and a below-par Hurn (67). Youngsters Beams (47) and Bewick (44) struggled to be consistent and Lester's 111 off the ground hurt the final score as well.
For the Humptys, Garlett (131) had a great game for Carlton and Jacobs was dependable as ever in the rucks for Adelaide. Rischitilli chipping in with 103 shows he may finally be back fit and in form again and Shiel (92) is showing great promise. More will be needed next week from the likes of Schofield (29) and premiums such as Wells, Guerra, Mackie who all scored in the 60s.

WOY WOY WIZARDS 1071 DEF BY PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS 1157
In a low scoring affair the Rangers defeated depleted Wizards side but moved into a strong position with their second win in a row. PBR's midfield ran rampant with 140 from Selwood, 133 from Liberatore and 120 from D.Swallow and even the non-selected Broadbent managed 111. H.Shaw returned in the defence with a 100 and with O'Brien (93) they sure up that line. Forward line was all over the place with Walker (39) have a ‘mare and Harper disappearing with 21 and also LRT registering 46. Trengove's return game for 37 did not help either.
Kane Cornes was again the star for Woy Woy with 123 this time and Chapman proved consistent as ever with 114. Cross registered 102 as well and McMahon in his returned registered a century whilst youngster and #1 draft pick Whitfield did the same. Montagna also did the same. Hodge came back with 102 but was not included in the side. Jolly's score of 1 after getting injured in the first term kicks right where it hurts the most and Brynes (38), Blake (44) and McDonald (58) all had games to forget.
