Wow, what a smorgasbord of treats we have in the ORFFL this round! Reminds me of the days when Salty the Seal used to do half-time shows. That is the past though, and the ORFFL is the now. Join me over the break as I offer preview of the clashes this Easter weekend. NOW WITH SCORE UPDATES FROM SUNDAY.

    MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS930/12 vsPOPANYINNING PYRITE1153/13

This weekend we find the boys of Popanyinning travelling up the Mountain of Buggery looking for Fool's Gold. Will they get it? Or instead be met with Disappointment? This game has many such questions left unanswered, but that seems to be in vogue at the mo', so I'm not going to feel guilty for not answering them. One thing I would like to see is Stanton repeat his performance of last Saturday night. If only to stick it up those Essendon supporters.

    QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS1218 vsCOULTA COULDABEENS 1019/12

The Quolls, still nursing the gravel rash suffered at their hometown last weekend have the chance to salve their wounds and redeem themselves in front of their fellow Queenstownonians. The question for the travelling Couldabeens is whether or not they will persist in the revolutionary strategy of resting players before they've even played a game, in order to have them cherry ripe for finals later in the year. I heard murmurings from the fat mess this week that he considered this behaviour 'arrogant, and, selfish'. On the other hand I may have just misheard what was a build up of gas escaping from his 'wafer thin' lips.

WARBURTON WANDERERS1097/13 vsTARWIN LOWER PIGS 1185/14

The Warburton 'Twin' Wanderers were impressive throughout the preseason and have carried that form into the ORFFL Premiership season. They've done this on the back of sharing the load and supreme injury management. On the other side of the ledger are the TLP, who have Pendles. He's that good that despite everything else, he balances the scales between these two teams. Too close to call, I'm staying out of this one.

HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS 947/11 vsPOOWONG POTOROOS 945/11

Match of the round for mine. Two coaches pitted against one another, both supremely confident in their ability to get the most out of their teams, and their ability to let all and sundry know about it. Will it be the Malthousian stylings of Lucas and his loveable side kick :relton: that will revel in triumph? Or the much more succinct message of 'Go Pootoroos' that inspires glory? Dunno, mate. Dunno.

BONNIE DOON BANDITS885/10 vsMALLACOOTA MAGICIANS 1231/13

The king of grift, The Kash Man, and his band of Magicians from Mallacoota find themselves travelling to Bonnie Doon, a town equally well-known for housing those proficient in deception. With the Bandits still suffering the fall-out from a brutal preseason, I wouldn't be betting against the Magicians in this encounter. However, the ORFFL having thrown up more than one upset in its brief existence, I wouldn't be betting against Bonnie Doon. I think I'll just keep my money in my cardboard wallet, thankyouverymuch.

SARAH ISLANDS SAVAGES 1250/13 vs MILIKAPATI SNAKES 1031/12

Word is that a certain coach has offered a bounty on the head of a certain team of Snakes. I don't buy into gossip and muck-racking myself, regardless I want to make it clear that the Savages kill only for love, not money. Personally, despite having what I regard as the best backline in the land, I doubt Milikapati is able to esacape 'Hornsy's Jar'. Welcome to Sarah Island.

PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS 946/13 vsMERTON MEERKATS 1046/14

If I was the coach of Merton I'd be positively filling my britches at the thought of going up against the might of the PBR this weekend. Thankfully I'm not, and my britches remain suitably unsoiled. Still, I don't figure SCSS or his Meerkats for the cowering type and believe they'll give this contest a Red Hot Go. Surely the Rangers can't score 1450 again?

GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS896/12 vs JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS 1265/14

The men who like to wear garbage cans on their heads and pretend they're Ned Kelly host Jimcumbilly in their first home game of the season. I'm no psychic or 'nuttin, but I get the distinct sense that Big Gary Turtleton feels that his team should be doing better than what it is. And for Doobs and his Gunslingers, the only way is up really after a disaster of a Round 1. Both teams with something to prove.

WOY WOY WIZARDS 1293/14vsTORRUMBARRY THUNDA 965/14

'Let's do the Time Warp AGA-AIN!' the fans will be singing as Woy Woy host their first game of the season. An improvement I feel on the Thunda's rather unimaginative 'TOR-RUM-BAR-RYYYYYYYYY'. I digress; this shapes up to be an excellent encounter and I can't wait. So much so that I'm going to shut up now.
