Wellity, wellity, well. Another Friday rolls around and another weekend of ORFFL action gets underway. Correction: has already gotten underway (is gotten a word, geez it's ugly. I feel shame). Injuries and disappearances (where did I park the good ship, S.S Kepler?), continue to trouble coaches, but I think peeps are finallycoming around to the reality that a fit list preseason means YSCC Jack after 4 rounds of actual competition. And I suppose it would be somewhat remiss of me not to mention the start up rebel competition formed over the week, the ORFFA. Good luck little brother, may you learn from our pioneering footsteps. NOW WITH HAME DAY UPDATES
<!--more-->Just a small not before we get on to the match previews: the emergency system has undergone a slight change.
If you select two emergencies in the same line (eg. 2 DEF emergencies), you will get the first emergencies score if only one player from your starting 15 doesn't play (as opposed to the lowest scoring emergency it was previously). Why did we do this? Because that's the way walesy coded it, and it achieves the same aim of stopping coaches from loading up emergencies for the highest score.

TARWIN LOWER PIGS(Avg. 1217) 1073/13 VSMILIKAPATI SNAKES (1274)573/8
Tarwin Lower desperately need a win to stay in contention with the top 8, but are going to find it hard going against the 3rd highest scoring team in Milikapati. On their side is the fact that Pendles has already gorged himself at the points trough, and that Snakes' Clarke (52) and LEEROY (59) put in underwhelming performances on Wednesday. On the other hand though, Milikapati scored a very respectable 1251 last weekend without defensive pillar Birchall, and he slithers back into the side this week. Tipping this to be a close one (mind you I'm very rarely right in my predictions).

POPANYINNING PYRITE(1205) 866/11 VSPOOWONG POTOROOS(1257) 837/11
Gary Ablett. Missing. What does this mean for the boys from Poowong, and equally the hosts at Popanyinning? In short it means that the Pootoroos will have to work around 150 points harder to keep their unblemished sheet in tact. For the other mob, the Pyrite, the stench of victory is well and truly wafting in the breeze, anddon't those boys love to have a sniff. The Twin Towers in Reid and JRoo need to pull their collective fingers out and get their club on the right side of the Tommy Ledger. Should be a cracker!

MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS(1164) 608/8 VSBONNIE DOON BANDITS(1108)683/10
I've probably said this before (running out of material, srsly), but for the BDB it's again a case of one door opening, another door closing, as they welcome back Jason Gram in defence, yet lose Gia in attack. While on top of the mountain, the Disappointments have their own worries, declaring Hot Toddy a lightning risk for the stormy weather over the weekend and dropping him off a cliff. Still they've worked Roughy into some form, and Stanton is such a l33t player these days that he can knock up a 71 after a 2 kick 1st half. Signs are good for the home team methinks.

SARAH ISLAND SAVAGES(1388) 1069/11 VSMERTON MEERKATS(1182)
The less said by me on this match the better, safe to say the RSPCA has already issued TS with a takedown notice of an image of mine depicting a Meerkat inside a glass jar with no breathing holes provided. I calmly tried to explain that putting holes in Hornsy's Jar not only defeats the purpose of the Jar itself, but it also next to impossible. They didn't care. So that being what it is, what the RSPCA don't know won't kill them. Although it may kill a group of small, furry marsupials.

TORRUMBARRY THUNDA (1178)868/10 VSHUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS (1136)424/6
Banter match of the round! Lucas, coach of the Hammerheads, has been a little quieter than usual this season. Whether that is due to the poor form of his side, or that he's been taking mumbling lessons from James Reyne and I can no longer understand him is neither here nor there. It doesn't matter in the end, because rain, hail or shine, SKT, coach of the Thunda, will bring the chatter no matter what the set or setting. I could easily write that I want Humpty Doo to win just to shut this Ballantyne up, but I know in my heart that nothing will silence this man! Still, hold out hope that the HDH can weather the storm and grab their first win of the year.

JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS(1225) 902/10 VSWARBURTON WANDERERS(1289) 768/10
Classic match up this be, with everyone's preseason fancy in Jimcumbilly going up against everyone's actual season fancy in Warburton. I mentioned it in the review last round and I'm going to say it again here; the Jackrabbits need their stars to get up and play for Big Gary Turtleton. Second placed Warbuton simply need to continue to turn the screws, and they'll find themselves at 5-0 after the weekend's festivities.

PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS(1157) 942/12 VS COULTA COULDABEENS(1211)381/4
The PBR, still reeling from a Hammering so bad it must've felt like their dog had just been run over find themselves facing the mystery men of Coulta, absentees from the ORFFL last weekend. They say that pain breeds thoughts of revenge, and yet they also say that there can be only won winner (Charlie Sheen notwithstanding). I'm tipping the continued absence of Heater from the Rangers line-up, combined with the return of Walker for the Couldabeens will tip the odds in the SA's favour. But I've been wrong before once or twice.

GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS(1124) 751/9 VSQUEENSTOWN QUOLLS (1162)998/11
The Fat Shuffler had a game for the ages on Wednesday for Queenstown scoring a mighty ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY points (slightly off set by Hibberd going down with a hammy in the first quarter). This would appear hard to peg back for their opponents in Glenrowan at first glance, especially with first round pick Mummy sidelined for up to a month after undergoing surgery. Still, their coach Doobs has managed to coach Beams (avg. 102 over the last fortnight), and he could well do the same for Nathan Bock Bock this weekend. I'm tipping one closer than you'd expect, perhaps purely for the fact that nothing has come easy for the Quolls this season, and I'm a man who likes his patterns. Somewhat superstitiously.

WOY WOY WIZARDS (1264)804/8 VSMALLACOOTA MAGICIANS (1260)733/9
Actual match of the round! An average of just four points separate Woy Woy and Mallacota, and although Johnny Kash likes to chronically downplay his team's ability, everyone knows that both these competitors are finals material. If they can keep close to their best team on the park that is. That Magicians are down Risky this week, Harbrow for even longer, and we're all intimately aware that Fyfe's shoulder could go at any moment. While at Woy Woy it's a similar story. Sandi missing tonight's clash, Hodge still neither here nor there, and Dids presumably having fled town in a blaze of glory. Yet I hear Terry from Punchy is coming down this weekend, still not sure if that's a plus though.
