Round 6 is best summarised as the round AFL coaches decided to screw their ORFFL counterparts. The late out. Gone, but not forgotten. This AFL witchcraft cursed at least a deformed handful of ORFFL clubs; curse this sorcery! Ah, well. The game goes on regardless. Over the page.

SARAH ISLAND SAVAGES1484 VSTARWIN LOWER PIGS1071

If only. If only NicNat had played... I dream. Meanwhile in reality, 14 Savages participated in a massacre of a drift of Pigs at Sarah Island, and collected a 413 point win as reward. Despite NicNat feeling like he didn't need to show up, once again 10 Savages tonnedup (BJ, Robbo, JPK, Simmo, JORI, Chaplin, Chip, Minno, Mayney, Prestia), Chris Mayne a 128 on debut. :milhouse:

For Tarwin Lower, it must have been a miserable away trip. Pendles (145) back to his usual tricks, McIntosh (111) proving a consistent performer and astute R3 pick, and NRoo (108) continue to turn back the clock somewhat. That being said, Bastinac (41) and Geary (54) are in form troughs, their early season scores desserting them.

    POOWONG POTOROOS1243 VSJIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS1094

The fancied match of the round turned out to be fizzer, 2nd placed Poowong coasting away to a 149 point win over Jimcumbilly. SJ was the star in Captain Gary's absence, a mighty 169 and single handedly lifting his average into the 80's. The Thompson Twins also continued where they've left off in recent weeks; 119 and 104 for the Potoroos this weekend.

For Jimcumbilly, it was a horror. scoring 194 points below their 5 game average. Top liners NDS (46), Fisher (66), Droopy (64), and Beamer (59), all having games to forget. JPOD (116) and ThePeoplesBeard (103) tried to buck the trend.

    BONNIE DOON BANDITS1163 VSTORRUMBARRY THUNDA1243

Over in Bonnie Doon, the away team, Torrumbarry did what they need to do to keep their finals hopes alive, defeating the Bandits by 80 points. Newbie SKT coach Watters proving to be just as devious as the departed Lyon; SKT suffering the late out of Simpkin. Didn't matter though; Buddy (131), Danger (122), Bellchambers (121), and Waters (120) all posting big hungies.

Bonnie Doon will probably have their eyes on the midseason draft. Coniglio's 87 would have been handy in the midfield, and Schoenmakers continues to tease (55) after a 77 last week. On the positive side, Cox (141) blossomed in NicNat's absence, Mitchell (117) motored along and Corey (117) had a day out.

    MERTON MEERKATS1277 VSCOULTA COULDABEENS1194

Richmond won. Sorry to say Port fans, but that was the subtext of this match, the Meerkats knockin the Couldabeens off their patch with an 83 point victory. Scooter (139) firming for pick of the draft after another forceful performance, Maric (129) a giant, and Nahas (118) a handful. Supporting cast too long to mention.

Meanwhile, Coulta slump to 3-3 after a patchy effort against Merton. TheGoodEbert (116), Zaha (110), Boris (104), 1AW (100) and Reilly (101) playing and scoring well, Q-Stick (38) having a mare and Brogan (15) going off injured early. Could have used Scarlett in defence, but I'm sure the coach knows this.

    WARBURTON WANDERERS1238 VSPOPANYINNING PYRITE1164

This match saw Warburton getting up over Popanyinning by 74 points at home. Admittedly the Wanderers have the ability to make any turf their own, Griffen (152) - geez he's a player- going large, with Hartlett (100), Hale (102), MJ (105), and a stack of players scoring over 80 providing the Wanderers with the win on this occasion. Model of consistency.

While back at Popanyinning, coach P_L decided to burn Sam Reid ( by leaving him out pre-match and in turn were burned by the man the brought in, Osborne (46). Watters, not to be confused with Waters, also burnt them by withdrawing Wilkes and leaving the Pyrite a player short. Swallow (120) and Shuey (124) were mighty in respite.

    PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS1048 VSGLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS1242

Glenrowan won the Skeleton Key in this exchange of lower-rungers, running away 190-mighty point winners over Purnululu Bungle. While Delicious (139), Beams (137), and Bunga (127) all went large, the Gunslingers will be counting the cost of the battle, losing Bock for the season with a broken leg.

The Rangers will be counting a cost of their own on field, losing Selwood this week to the curse of the late out. However, it was probably just a poor week overall from the youngest side in the ORFFL; 4 players scoring under 60, and only 2 in Heater (120) and Melksham (102) scoring triple digits.

HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS1097 VS QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS1209

Queenstown braved one of the longest trips in the ORFFL, going up North and conquering the reportedly decimated Humpty Doo to the tune of 112 points. For the victors, Swan (112), Watson (134), Brown, (104) and Hampson (115) all tonned up in a very even performance from the Quolls side. Curnow being a late out from the IC would have to be a low-light though.

In the Humpty Doo sheds, Bolton (124), Goo (106) and Goodes (110), the last going down with a - I want to say hip? - injury for an unspecified amount of time. Which is just what the Hammerheads need right now. If they want Pearce. Which they do.

MILIKAPATI SNAKES1315 VSWOY WOY WIZARDS 1127

Cometh the hour, cometh the team! Milikapati posting an impression 1315 and downing Woy Woy by 188. The snakes had an impressive spread; Lids (143) and Pav (148) at the high end, Jack (93), Clarke (100), Parker (94) and debutant Adams (90) on the lower end of the spectrum. The win keeps them in 5th spot, a game clear of the pack at 4-2.

I'm getting sick of writing that Woy Woy are unlucky, I think lately they just miss Sandilands. With Jolly out as well, Adam Selwood (39/2) was forced to shoulder the ruck load. Not good. Old stagers Chappy (122), Cross (113), Power (104), and Fletcher (105) all played well.

    MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS1222 VSMALLACOOTA MAGICIANS1317

A see-sawing affair up on the hill, with the 4th placed MagicMen defeating home side Mount Buggery by 95 points. While Mallacoota played a man down due to the absence of BigBoy, they showed great courage (fist pump) under duress the MagicMan himself scoring 141, Duncan (113) proving doubters wrong, Hill (119) and Russell (101), Crameri also notching an even 100 before going off with what looked like some sort of injury.

It's easy to say that Mount Buggery were disappointing. I just did. Stanton (154) played like a keeper, Roughead (120) appears to be building, likewise Sidebottom (131) in Ball's absence. Mitch Clark (130) also had a day to remember. Late inclusion to the MBD line-eup in Colyer (24), and rookie ruck Longer (23) don't seem cut out for the big leagues just yet. Come back Goldy! All is forgiven!
