Really, really, too tired to write an intro tonight. No outro either. Results over the break.

MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS1346 DefTARWIN LOWER PIGS1254

A battle between two of the form teams in the ORFFL; Mount Buggery proving to strong for Tarwin Lower, defeating them by 102 points. Goldy (153) relishing being the only game at North Melbourne, Pearce (142) backing up his 158 from last week and Sidebum (142) in PB from (3R Avg. 136). Watts (80) didn't the standard he set last week, and so we can presume that the chief didn't remember what he said to Jack, and thus did not deliver the message again. That solves that mystery.

Now onto another at Tarwin Lower; did Dan177 repeat his 177? No, he did not (57). Veterans O'Keefe (109) and NRoo (115) turned back the clock, again. Dependles (118) was himself, Hanley (112) got a stack of it, but the real story was Where'sWallis (108); averaging 107 over the last 3 games. A revelation for the Pigs in the past month.

    COULTA COULDABEENS1346 DefBONNIE DOON BANDITS1115

TheCouldabeensDiddawon, scoring a mighty1346, trampling over the hapless by 231 points in the process. Priddis (119) returned rejuvenated, Reilly (117, avg. 97) similarly over the whole season. It was the evenness of Coulta that stood out this weekend; 6 players scoring in the 90's, to go along with 4 hitting triple figures on the weekend. Nice spread.

It was a bit of a dismal day(s) for Bonnie Doon. Daisy (134) lit up Saturday night, as did Tippett (104), while Harvey (103) pressed up hard and ran like mad. That was pretty much it though. 3 players scored in the 90's, which was balanced out by the 3 that scored below 40. Midseason break can not come quick enough for the Bandits who could use a defender or two (270, avg. 225).

    GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS1079 Def byPOOWONG POTOROOS1290

What was predicted to be a lob-sided affair, kinda was in the end, Poowong winning handsomely over Glenrowan by 211 points. In the end. SJ (146) played like he was touched, Hawkins (119) had a huge 2nd half, and Gary (111) was decidedly un-Gary like, yet still managed to tonup. In point of fact it was an un-Potoroos like performance with their midfield down in scoring (108 points below their average), their defence (+47) and forward (+55) lines doing the damage. Jamar (77) was about average.

Not a great performance from Glenrowan. While Beams (175) had a night out, their was precious little support; Iles (101) , Hurn (108), and Armitage (112). The decision not to play Smith (89), instead opting for the OOP Bewick (31) was mystifying to this observer at least. Or was it? Maybe.

HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS937 Def byMERTON MEERKATS1465

There was nothing mystifying about this match, Merton beating the absolute stuffing out of Humpty Doo, crazy-pinyata-styles, by A LOT of points. Oh let me count the Tigers; Mullet (146), Martin (119), Cotchin (112), Foley (127) and Tuck (148). Tuck continues to amaze, averaging 102 this year, which he does nearly every year and yet it always threatened with delistment. Anyways great, deep midfield up at Merton, with a powerhouse ruckman. Remind me of an AFL team.

Throughout the last decade long debate over tanking, every commentator assured Joe Public of one thing. Players. Don't. Tank. Coaches may make moves to aid development at the expense of winning a match, but players don't tank. Which brings me to Lucas' Hammerheads. I don't think Lucas tanked this week as a coach, but I think his players tanked as a team. No one even got to 90. If I was Malcolm Blight I'd say they were pitiful. Lucas has lost the players for mine, which may be a greater fantasy sin.

    WARBURTON WANDERERS1307 DefTORRUMBARRY THUNDA1220

Warbuton showed great courage (pumps fist), besting Torrumbarry by 87 points in the immediate aftermath of losing 1st round pick Murphy last round. Boak (138) stepped up tremendously , while Scully (101) reached triple figures for the first time in orange and crud. MJ (120, avg. 97) continues to be the best D/F this year, racking them up everywhere.

One that got away from Torrumbarry. The Thunda have been crying out for a premium midfielder in recent times and it's easy to see why, scoring just 279 there in round 9. DouglasTheRed (6) infuriating, Vince (56) perhaps more so. Not to mention Cloke (26, avg. 82), who SKT may have overpaid. Steven (143, avg, 100) appears a real diamond in the rough for Torrumbarry.

QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS1013 Def byPURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS1362

A shock defeat down in Queenstown with the Quolls losing by 349 points to Purnululu Bungle. When the Rangers are on target they're as good as any in the ORFFL. Six players (Heater, Selwood, Libba, Ryder, Broadbent, Treloar) hit triple digits for the PBR, Broadbent's 153 a standout off the bench.

Over in the loser's sheds, Queenstown will be lamenting a fortnight which just hasn't gone right. Losing Swan and GoodGrimey last week, this week Yarran late-outs it and Walsh (4) achieves a similar effect while on the field. Warnock (111) came in with a nice debut, and Trengove (113) and Jobe (108) also raised their bats to the great god of centuries.

    MALLACOOTA MAGICIANS 1236DefMILIKAPATI SNAKES1163

In a battle between 5th and 3rd it was the 5th place Mallacoota that got up, defeating the 3rd placed Milikapati by 73 points. Yet with the ladder being what it is, it's more than likely that Mallacoota will remain behind Milikapati (edit: they actually fell to 6th with the win), so it's more of a moral victory for the Magicians. Johnny Kash was all over the tactical moves this weekend; moving Stanley (104) out of the ruck and into the forward line to great effect, while throwing small man Saad (106/2=53) in the centre circle on debut. Hill (108/2=54) was also pretty good in defence in place of SonOfIbbot.

We've all been treated to what Milikapati can do when on song over the last three weeks. This round showed the result of when it doesn't click. Clarke (50), Parker (46), ZSmith (45) and Adams (55) all well down on their personal benchmarks. Team needs all three Smiths to play all their much vaunted 'Matrix' gameplan just doesn't come off.

JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS1314 Def bySARAH ISLAND SAVAGES1374

Jimcumbilly made a fair fight of it over the weekend, falling over however to a victorious Sarah Island by 60 points. Robinson (161) did the job of two men, while JPK (122) and 2nd ruck Will Minson (103) collected pie for their club. Oh, and Patch (97) got dizzyingly close to his first ton of the year for anyone who's following.

Hosts' Jimcumbilly will be disappointed they cracked 1300 for the first time in 6 weeks yet couldn't come away with the win. Rosa (158) had the game of his life at the death, while Dal Santo (130), Petrie (121) and Howlett (124) were superb. Ellard (116/2=58) in the ruck proved to be not the worst move in the world. He di better than Moloney (39) in the midfield.

    POPANYINNING PYRITE1317 DefWOY WOY WIZARDS1174

I wrote on Friday that if Jack could kick a bag that Popanyinning could win it. And so it came to pass, the Pyrite 143 point winners over the Wizards. JRoo (127) kicked 6, while the Pyrite midfield of Boyd (125, avg. 116), Swallow (127, avg. 113), Shuey (138, avg. 116) and Lenny (103, avg. 107) the best in the ORFFL, scoring 493 on the weekend (avg. 450). First time they've cracked 1300. WHOOP WHOOP!

While at Woy Woy the nightmare continues, a performance severely lacking in lustre. Chapman (128) showed some sparkle off that giant noggin of his, Cross (102) and Montagna (115) solid if unremarkable, and McGlynn (103) surprising all with a rare ton. Serious crossroad time for Gumby going into the midseason break; an ageing list that's underperforming.
