    MOUNT BUGGERY DISAPPOINTMENTS (11th, avg. 1199) 729/8 vs TARWIN LOWER PIGS (10th, 1225) 934/11

Ive been educated by the football media that a week is a long time in football, and, if possible, to take that week once at a time. Last week the TLP and the MBD scored 1496 and 1449. I would definitely that just one of those weeks at a time. Regardless, the big question arising out of this match are thus: can Dan177 top last week and kick 7 in a quarter? Will walesy remember what he said to Watts and Pearce before last weekend? And if he does, will it work a second time?

    COULTA COULDABEENS (8th, 1218) 1022/11 vs BONNIE DOON BANDITS (14th, 1145)  763/11

Another match thats a bit on the uneven side; 14th place Bonnie Doon travelling to face 8th placed Coulta. The recently found ability to field a full team has seen Bonnie average 1200+ over the past 3 weeks, a mark they failed to reach in the earlier part of the season. The host the Couldabeens have been tracking along nicely; Zaka running into a nice patch (avg. 117 over the last month), and Reilly (avg. 94) a revelation from R26 of the draft.

    GLENROWAN GUNSLINGERS (16th, 1143) 776/9 vs POOWONG POTOROOS (2nd, 1265) 947/10

Bit of a lob-sided affair this one, with 16th placed Glenrowan hosting 2nd placed Poowong. Some fun facts then: last week scored a mighty 457 in the midfield. Whats more astonishing is that thats 10 points above there average. While at the Gunslingers, the loss of Bock is really hurting them, averaging just 276 points in the back third. I dont think its weird rabbit season yet, Poowong to away comfortably.

    HUMPTY DOO HAMMERHEADS (Last, 1138) 646/10 vs MERTON MEERKATS (6th, 1221) 1204/12

A game that in reality the coach of the Hammerheads would love to lose. Thankfully, ORFFL upstarts Merton will make it easy for them. Quietly going about their business (like a Meerkat), Merton have what I rate as the 2nd best midfield in the comp. Cotchin, Foley, Scooter, and Grigg combined average 436 points, and have played in all 8 games. While the Hammerheads are still on Desolation Row, Judd has found some form over the last fortnight (144,113), and does like playing against the Demons.

    WARBURTON WANDERERS (4th, 1237) 738/9 vs TORRUMBARRY THUNDA (9th, 1202) 1018/13

An enticing contest, as the ORFFL world wonders how the Wanderers will cope with loss of prime mover, Marc Murphy. Their opponents 9th placed Torrumbarry face of their own; Heppell out of defence, although for a limited time only. The Thunda need to win this to stay in touch with the pack, while Warburton need to win to stay clear of it. Expect Griffen and Dangerfield to go head to head in an ORFFL classic.

    QUEENSTOWN QUOLLS (7th, 1180) 453/7 vs PURNULULU BUNGLE RANGERS (17th, 1138)  984/10

Here we find Tasmanias 7th placed Queenstown up against the 17th placed PBR. With the Quolls, its a case of one door opening and another door closing, as they welcome the returning Cooney, whilst waving goodbye to the departing Spindles. For the Rangers of Purnululu Bungle, theyre a young team and will be better for the run.

    MALLACOOTA MAGICIANS (5th, 1244) 961/12 vs MILIKAPATI SNAKES (3rd, 1293) 765/11

Mallacoota will be reeling from a truly ORFFL savaging of their performance from coach Johnny last weekend. Theres no let off for the Magicians though, with the ORFFL decreeing they face flag-favourites Milikapati this week. The Snakes boast the leagues best defence, averaging 383 ppg and have scored the 2nd most amount of points (1275 ppg), despite being in 3rd place. Mallacoota coach Johnny will have to hope his forward line (357 ppg) will be able to catch Milikapati on an off day.

    JIMCUMBILLY JACKRABBITS (13th, 1167) 833/10 vs SARAH ISLAND SAVAGES (1st, 1397)  648/7

Jimcumbilly have been the Mount Buggery of the ORFFL this year, and this week are up against Sarah Island, who have been the enfant terrible of the ORFFL. A couple of challenges lay ahead for the Jackrabbits this weekend; combating NicNat (avg. 107) with no ruckman, and an under-performing defence who has scored above 300 only once this season. Could be tough.

    POPANYINNING PYRITE (12th, 1183) 556/6  vs WOY WOY WIZARDS (15th, 1229) 999/12

And lastly, we have 12th placed Popanyinning hosting 15th placed Woy Woy. The Wizards have witnessed their form drop away after a promising start to the season which included to 1300+ scores in the opening 3 rounds. McGlynn (avg. 63) in particular needs to find a little more Sydney pie. For the Pyrite the equation is much simpler; JRoo kicks a bag, they win. If he doesnt, it might be hard for them.
