OK Gentlemen, welcome to the 2022 ORFFU Finals. At the end of the season we have the following ladder: So Nuytsland have first pick of opponent for week 1.
@bryzza Wasn't expecting that! Completely thrown my behind-the-scenes finals predictions out the window. I guess we can stop fuelling the 747 and start dusting off the bus again.
That leaves me with the Monarchs then @Tylo and @insider & @Mick to go H2H once again. Good luck all!
Finals fixtures now uploaded. Good luck to all teams (except @bryzza and Nuytsland, I hope they get flogged!)
Survival of the fittest this time of year Newman out for the season. Prospectors have been digging holes all year might not get out of this one
Touk is going to make Titch cry (in the ORFFU and in the AFL). All we ask is that the umpires call high tackle when our man up forward gets his head taken off I think its pretty obvious that I'm far from a pies supporter, but that's a high tackle every single time. The onus has to be on the tackler to lay a legal tackle, even if the player with the ball lowers his frame. Its a skill to try to avoid a tackle (be evasive) and its a skill to lay a good tackle - if you can't then maybe you should try bumping (or stick to netball).
I've never agreed with the high rule in the AFL. Touching a shoulder is not a high free kick, hitting someone's hit IS a high free kick IMO

R21 / Finals week 1 - Korumburra Blowflys (4th) v Ararat Armadillos (5th) @insider In - Z. Guthrie Out - T. Bianco D - N. Vlastuin, N. Hind, C. Daniel, J. Howe (EMG M. Walters) M - J. Steele, T Boak, S. Ross, T. Kelly (EMG A. Perkins) R - B. Preuss F - J. Dunkley, T. Goldstein, N. Martin, L. Franklin (EMG L. McDonald) I/C - N. Daicos, Z. Guthrie (EMG M. Frederick) Just the one change to a fairly settled Blowflys outfit for this first week of finals. It was a tough decision for the team selection committee, but Korumburra have opted to go with a young player with more height and defensive nous over another young more offensive accumulator. The mighty Flys will need everyone firing this weekend to get the W against their traditional rivals from that other "rat" - the 'Dillos!
