Gentlemen, I assume everyone is keen to be back for the 2024 running of the ORFFU. I see there's been a couple of teams' search for success see them pick up stumps and move to a whole new town, and there's been some mascot changes too. If anyone else plans on making any team name changes, please do so by sometime in mid February, so that we can make sure the fixturing works without breaking anything. There's been some trading, and I'm sure plenty of trade enquiries. There's been some chat, and some banter, and some amazing analyses. There's also been some questions asked of me, and I haven't been able to answer them fast enough, sorry. But to help with some planning, we'll run the PSD from mid February (it worked in 2023). Monday 19 Feb - Delistment deadline Tuesday 20 February - PSD commences at 08:00 Eastern A big thanks to everyone who has contributed over the offseason, and to you all who will contribute in your own ways across season 2024. Lets have some fun, and may a new team win our premiership this year!
Definitely keen for the new season, and could not be more definitive in my team’s zero chance of winning the flag. New town, new name, new era. Exciting times with zero expectations, and a bunch of kids to take the team forward as we continue the rebuild. Best of luck to everyone!
Hey @JPK, SSP runs until Feb 19, should we wait until that deadline passes before we run the draft? I'd imagine there will be a few signings in the last few days so would make everyone on an AFL list available in our (much better) draft.
Hey boss @JPK just wondering about the fixtures, SC is starting in round 1, might be best if we look to do the same. Also, what to do if anything regarding rounds 2,3 and 5,6 which has 2 teams each round having a bye as well. Food for thought.
I reckon all of those affected rounds should be non-played rounds for us. If it shortens our season then so be it. Stupid byes…
Does anyone know what the other leagues are doing? Is it best to streamline everything to make it easy for round scores, etc?
Thats a good suggestion. Lets do that ORFFU 2024 PSD will commence on Tuesday 20 February at 08:00 Eastern
Yeah, this becomes a little bit more difficult. We'll have to see what the other leagues are doing, and what Walesy can do to keep the ORFF's going successfully across those weeks. Might be a matter of a short season, or go with the rolling bye (we've done that before) where some teams are just going to be short a few more players.
If anyone is interested...... Confirmed match simulations All games live on Kayo Sports Wednesday, February 21 North Melbourne v Collingwood, Arden St, 10am AEDT Thursday, February 22 Sydney v Greater Western Sydney, Tramway Oval, 10am AEDT Carlton v Geelong, Ikon Park, 11am AEDT Brisbane v Gold Coast, Brighton Homes Arena, 5pm AEST Friday, February 23 Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn, Whitten Oval, 11am AEDT St Kilda v Essendon, RSEA Park, 2pm AEDT Port Adelaide v Adelaide, Alberton Oval, 5pm ACDT Saturday, February 24 West Coast v Fremantle, Mineral Resources Park, 4.45pm AWST
This! This is the problem that we are faced with because the AFL has a desire to control the news cycle 25 hours a day, 370 days a year. There's not a single bit of downtime to conduct a fantasy draft without AFL influence. #firstworldproblems
Due to life happening, unfortunately the updated FU stats post won't be finalised this weekend. I'm a little more on top of things now so am thinking I'll have something sorted out the weekend before our draft (10th-11th Feb). Most of my team (including my boss...but unfortunately not my boss's boss who's been pestering me) are on leave for another week so am planning on sneaking some FU time in to working hours and continue getting the file set up.
Can we just agree to having a smaller team in bye rounds. Everyone just names a "0" scoring player in their team, effectively reducing team size Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
I know it’s the wrong game, but can I cry about Jurgen Klopp, here? What a manager and what a person, the red two thirds of Liverpool, with many others around the globe are in mourning
I'm not crying for him.....he's achieved everything he wants to and is now going out "when he wants to"............how good is that! Absolutely brilliant what he's achieved and I applaud him for that, but there'll be no tears here...
Been so much joy after so long. Just sad that such a charismatic leader has called time. I think the closest personality I’ve seen recently is Ange. Another great bloke who’s players look up to and adore. Almost impossible to replace and no doubt one of the reasons we’ve been able to sign some great players and performed the way we have. Very big shoes to fill
