Opening report from The Stadium, Bueng Kan for the 1st match held in this north-eastern Thai city. The visiting Bunyips from Blanchetown have got off to a good start, posting 2/148 with Darcy Cameron scoring 94, against a ruckless BKR. Going into the game without a ruck sees the River Rats struggling at 2/47 in reply. @martyg
Early in the last at Mill Park sees a free flowing affair, still anyones game although @fresh is in the box seat SFB 802/9/89 CBC 1126/12/94
Progress score from The Stadium and Bueng Kan lead Blanchetown 10/710 to 11/612. The River Rats fought back brilliantly in the 2nd stanza, after a rev-up from the Coach during the break, with the defence of Buckley 105 and Collins 80, along with an improved midfield of L D-U 121, new boy Wood 87, and Dawson 80, holding sway, allowing Riccardi 93 up front, to kick the go ahead score. The Visitors were well served by Atkins 90 and Durham 89 in the middle , but were let down by some ordinary performances elsewhere. @martyg
King Island 902/13/69 Hughenden 459/7/66 In a close if somewhat lacklustre contest Tom Green is doing all he can to get the Monarchs over the line with the Prairie Dogs expected to finish strongly.
Two thirds done in Carnamah and the visitors will be feeling confident of a first up win Cormorants 524/11 (48) Anglers 493/10 (49) @eagle_eyed Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
At 7/9 time at the Terrordome, it's all over bar the shouting... @DamoH The visiting Smugglers are offcially done with this match. The pirates are out on their feet, watching the scoreboard clock slowly tick down before heading back to the change rooms to the consolation of their bottles of rum and pilfered booty. KB - 11 / 1014 / 92 CIS - 15 / 1091 / 73 With Dunkley, Kelly, Witherden and Fyfe all still running on top of the ground with fresh legs, the Blowflys will finish off strongly to start their 2024 campaign with a solid victory at home.
Full time at The Stadium and Bueng Kan have held on to win their 1st game at home 1064-1015 over Blanchetown. The Bunyips came home with a wet sail in the final period with Houston 114 and Horne-Francis 112 both tonning up, while Ugle Hagan 90 and Dale 87 provided ample support. However with Farrell 105 down back repelling plenty of attacks, and well supported by Langdon 78 and Finlayson 71, the River Rats were able to hold on and record their maiden win... BOG: 3. Davies-Uniacke BKR 121 2. Houston BBU 114 1. Horne-Francis BBU 112 BIG TAP: O'Brien BBU 75 walkover * scores subject to change @martyg

Final scores from the Goldfields @YAD69 Looking directly at the scorelines, and it was a dominant display by the home town Prospectors in a fantastic round 1 display, winning across each line against the visiting Barracudas. Its a good way to start the season for the local fans, while the visitors will surely be rejigging their lineup and gameplan on the trip back home. There were still some disasters for the home team, with two scores under 50, some likely time off for J Sicily, and a player in the magoos (D Heppell) scoring >100 and wondering what more he needs to do to get into the side. There was a lot of coughing and spluttering from the boys from Groote Eylandt, with half the team below average, leaving the coach to question how a promising pre-season has turned into such an ordinary start - maybe they were confused by the round 0 and lost count...??? The big news from the game was that local hero C Serong has been taken to hospital after the game, with a bag case of leather poisoning. His 46 disposals and 170 points being the really big difference in the game. At this rate he's a shoe-in for the league B&F (isn't extrapolation a wonderful thing!!!) The votes: 3 - C Serong, Coolgardie, 170 2 - T Miller, Coolgardie, 137 1 - P Cripps, Groote Eylandt, 135 The giant tap: O McInerney, Coolgardie, defeated B Grundy, Groote Eylandt, in a very close and very underwhelming tussle, by 3 points, 74 to 71. Next up sees Coolgardie stay at home hosting the Vikings from Nuytsland, while the Barramundi (sorry, Barracudas) will take on the big road trip to safari in the Serengeti, facing the Buffalos. Good luck to all four teams (ok, maybe only three of them!).
