http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarti...mpaign=2082f40758-Runner_R20&utm_medium=email I wonder how many others are already signed. Not quite as good as bock for gc, but Davis is a decent signing!
Crows losing 2 key backmen in 2 years pretty stiff Davis was a top 10 pick as well so that'll hurt bigtime
Now that the first has come out and said he has signed with GWS - Do you think more will follow his lead after secret planning? Like, any considering would probably want to know who else would be there with them before they sign. ANyone know if Scully will stay at Melbourne because of the Dean Bailey sacking, will want to leave more wth the Dean Bailey sacking, or this won't won't sway his decision? Just imagine if Ward, Sculley all go. Who will be their Captain if they are targeting all of the younger players from 20-24? They really need a Gun Code: GWS
The only reason Davis announced it now was because his season is over. If he was set to play out the rest of the year we wouldn't be talking about him leaving for another 6 weeks. Last year the media was spot on with every single rumour, I suspect they will be the same this year. Young players getting offered in excess of $800,000 a year would be stupid to refuse.
Sainterz12 We've been trying to chase you down over the weekend and this week. Jump into the TS-Saints league in the forums and put your name down mate!!! Have a read of TS Super Leagues if you haven't yet to get an idea for the thing. Cheers! (Related to 2012 League planning, Saints league)
Not sure why people are suprised that GWS are going after youth. Sheeds isnt stupid and months ago one the head guys there came out and said they would build for the future. All clubs have been put on notice and expect some of your much loved kids to be playing against you next year and years to come......
Oh and also Taylor Walker will still be at GWS next year. All they have to do is work out a trade with Adelaide, ala Brennan to Gold Coast after they took Rischitelli

Eddie was spot on this morning though, how are they going to explain away the fact that they can't even open negotiations with Davis till after this season? I can smell the BS from here, and Tassie's a decent jog from Sydney...

If Eddie wants this to be investigated then lets investigate the way Collingwood rort the draft and that....
Right, pretty much exactly the same then I guess. I thought Bock was considering it and Craigy stopped playing him so he cracked it and left, I really didn't pay that much attention to Bock though to be fair. AFL administration even worse than I thought!
Nah, both gold coast and GWS have had specific times where they were alowed to sign up players. I'm not sure on when those designated times were, but fairly sure that it was in the off season (between 09 and '10 for suns, and between '10 and '11 for GWS). Eddie mcg should know about that! I can't believe he is questioning it. Unless I have it wrong... I know that I'm right about gc, but not entirely sure about GWS.
GWS does have a specific time frame, and this is definitely outside it, I'm just not sure on the GCS one. This is why Sheeds came out yesterday and said he'd never met the kid and Dale Holmes put this statement out shortly after the press conference in which Davis announced he was leaving. "Under the AFL rules regarding uncontracted players, we are not in a position to officially agree to terms or come to any arrangement, agreement or understanding with Phil and his management team until after the conclusion of the season," Holmes said. "We discussed an opportunity with Phil's management during the year, however that is all we are able to confirm at this stage of the season." So as far as I can tell even GWS knows they're being naughty
Oh c'mon. Of course he's already signed up. They've just been dodgy about it and he let the cat out of the bag! I wonder if there are any others...
