Alright, what I wanted to talk about today is a little plan I had to help plot out the byes. Now, technically, the ticker, once released next week, will be able to assist you in much the same way as this- But I reckon that by setting this up, you get to see a full list of what could be high-risk and it will assist you in putting together a team from here on in.

Firstly, what Ive done is create 5 new watchlists, Ive called them 4, 5, 6, 16 and 19 and what Ive done, is all the players Im interested in, Ive also added them to the appropriate lists.

By doing that, I can look through my squad- line by line, for any spots I might be in danger of donuting due to over exposure in the lines.

(I can also find a bug that prevents people from displaying properly on two different lists- hooray!)

So Im just going to run through some of what I see as the danger lines.
    <!--more-->
Round 4 - Saints, Dogs and Lions

    Defence:
With Lake having a terrible pre-season, this line is thankfully make less stressful than it otherwise would have been- but with Goddard, Gilbee, Gilbert, Drummond, Fisher and the potentially underpriced Gram and Adcock - youll still need to be careful.

    Mids:
With a fair number premiums in the Saints and Dogs, you should be fairly safe here if youre sane about it. The danger though comes when you look at a couple of Brisbane Rookies that are here. Polec, Green, Beams will all be here abouts on peoples watchlists so youll need to be careful!

    Forwards:
Roo, maybe Brown- but I cant see too much affecting you here.

Round 5 - Swans, Eagles and Demons

    Rucks:
This round could suprise people with Mumford, cox, Jamar and NitNat all taking a holding. But if youve got Sandi and cover, youll be right.

    The Rest:
Theres a suprising amount of decent picks in this list. A lot of them are F/Ms, so with some planning, you shouldnt have any issues if youre going after the likes of Jack, Green, Goodes, OKeefe, Sylvia, Gaff or Tapscott.

Round 6 Cats, Hawks and Dockers

    Forwards
This is where the pain is. Fabled round 6 forward.

Chapman, Franklin, Pavlich, Rioli and Varcoe. Then to make matters worse, the rookies Mzungu and I. smith are right in the mix as well. Smart usage of DP should see you fit a number of these guys in your squad, but I reckon any more than 2 premiums and youre dancing with fire.

    Mids
So by now, youve moved a donut into the mids to protect your forwardline. Just make sure you take a look here before selling the farm with Selwood, Bartel, Hodge, Burgoyne, Mitchel, Sewell, Corey and Hill all providing decent options. Tread with care.

    Defense
Again, theres just so many options between these three teams in defense that youre gunna need to be careful!

    Rucks
Thank god Geelong and Hawthorn dont have any viable rucks to mess up Sandi!

Round 16 - Crows, Dees and Dockers

    Rucks
Anyone with Sandi and Jamar maybe even Tippett is in for some trouble here. Plan ahead, dont do it!

    The Rest
I can see a lot of teams selecting Otten and Knights based on the fact that they will trade them out at some point. I get the feeling that this round might force their hand.

Round 19 - Richmond, Sydney and Brisbane

For mine there is only one thing thats going to bite people here. Forgetting about Deledio. With injuries starting to pinch, a mix of Deledio and Adcock might be enough to send the ship off the end- make sure you have some DP coverage left over, just to be sure.

Thankfully, we shouldnt have too many people from these teams in our squad by round 19. Lids, and couple of Swans and maybe a Lion. Just make sure whatever you do, youre always looking forward to the byes.

So there you go- if you plan ahead now, you can save yourself a world of pain later. Personally, I think that the byes are going to catch out just about everybody that doesnt do their research, and quite probably a good number of people who do. My personal plan is to not go in light on any line. If Ive got 3 players in one line, then Ill need to ensure that I have at least one DP coverage for it. What do you guys think?
