    Howdy,

EPL is 2 weeks away and its time to get our teams set.

So lets get a discussion started on those hidden gems and tips on players who you think are going to be scoring well in fantasy this year.

    GK
    Adam Federici - Reading
Cheap, should be getting plenty of saves, and was goal keeper of the year in the championship last year, with plenty of games won from his gloves.
Will be playing every game he isn't injured and last year Reading had a good defensive record on the way to winning the Championship. With the most clean sheets of any team.
    And his an Aussie!

I'll be looking to use Federici at home, backing up another keeper Of equal or slightly higher value.

    Def
this is where you save your money, 1 maybe 2 expensive players is all you need here. Defenders rarely score or get assists, so the best you are hoping for is a clean sheet. Look to fill this line with PLAYING, cheap defenders, (value can be found in the promoted teams) as well as those few diamonds who take set pieces for there team, or playing in a more advanced position.

    Mids
    Gareth Bale - tottenham
Has swapped shirt to #9 this year! Haha don't read into that to much but without great depths of strikers at Tottenham he is a chance to help lead the line in an altered role under a new manager.
Has looked very good pre-season. And if Tottenham manage to sign Adebayor, expect him to be feeding the ball onto his head for assists often.

    Eden Hazard - Chelsea
Promising big money signing, will be interesting to see how Chelsea play this year but with 2 games in the first round loading up on some Chelsea could be beneficial. Scored plenty in the French league last year.

    Juan Mata - Chelsea
2nd year in the EPL and was very good last year. As above 2 games in round 1

    Brett Holman - Aston Villa
Villa were terrible last year and lucky to avoid relegation.
Under a new manager Holman has stepped into the Villa side preseason with goals and assists to his name.
Questions on how he will go in the premier league and how Villa will go, but I'd back him as a good mid price player who will get forward and score decent points.
Risky pick, but my love for an Aussie will see him in my starting team!

    Strikers
    Fernando Torres - Chelsea
... Torres, a risky one, but will lead the line with Sturridge at Chelsea and is slowly, very slowly getting his form back.
    Looked sharp in the Euro's.
Again 2 games in round 1.
Look to bring him for the first 2 rounds then move him on to your in form striker.

So what are your strategies and tips for the new season?

Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton is a young defender worth 4.0

Is rated as the best young defender in the country and Southampton broke their transfer record to get him across. Look for him to get games.

Another defender at 4.0 is Guy Demel from West Ham. Really strong and imposing figure who likes to head down from defence; especially in corners.

Agree with you DavisJD, look at cheap playing defenders. The most value is in the midfield where they score the most points.

A couple of midfielders to look at are:

    Ji Sung-Park (QPR)
    Cheick Tiote (Newcastle)
    Oscar (Chelsea)
    Dyer (Swansea)
