It was great to see a thriving discussion in last week's edition of RMT. Personally, I was travelling most of last week so I've only been able to glean bits and pieces of footy news over the past few days.
That hasn't stopped me from slicing and dicing my SuperCoach team once again, wringing the changes and (hopefully) keeping an upwards improvement trend. At least, that was the plan when I (again) started to tinker with my line-up.
I still have some guys in there who I am not convinced about, but at least now I can safely say that there are a lot less of these types. Pearce Hanley, I'm still looking at you though!
Line-by-line I have been through the options. Here's how I saw it and why I pulled some changes:
Defenders:
OUT: McVeigh, Ashby
IN: Suckling, Laidler
I needed to free up some cash and those who questioned the wisdom of starting McVeigh (quite a few actually) would appear to have done enough to sway me. The new DEF selections both appear to be going quite well and present clear value on their starting price.
Midfielders:
OUT: Caddy (switch to FWD), Martin, Aish
IN: Michie, Ellis, Cunningham
Caddy is better suited to a F5-F6 role and with my most optimistic hat on, could even potentially be a keeper at F6. I think I'll go No-Martin. At his inflated price, he will need to score insanely high numbers and I just didn't see enough in his pre-season games to convince that it is odds-on to happen over the early rounds of the real season. Sure he's a good kid, but I think there is better value at a slightly cheaper price. Speaking of which - welcome back Viv Michie. Also Xavier Ellis and Harry Cunningham are both probably best 25 for their respective clubs and too cheap not to have a crack at.
Rucks:
OUT: Lobbe
IN: Minson
Here's where most of the cash finished up. Big Will has barely raised a sweat through NAB and has still been scoring at will. And I still can't believe that there are people who haven't selected Sandilands. I'm thinking set-and-forget ruck line. Pretty happy with it too.
Forwards:
OUT: Hawkins, Merrett
IN: Walters, Caddy
Some extra $$ spent here too. After watching Hawkins in his 2 NAB hitouts, he seems to be missing the JPod factor a bit more than I had hoped he might. Now being the sole big-man target inside 50 for the Cats, the amount of double-team action will be more than ever. Vardy going down hasn't helped the situation either. Sorry Tom, but you're cut (for now). Caddy is a more than worthy replacement however, and Walters is just pure silk. I am pretty confident that he presents good value and can improve on his high 80s average from 2013 and will finish T10 in SC for FWDs by the end of the year.

<p style='background-color: #fcfcfc; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444;]Without further ado, let's keep the RMT discussion going. But also let's quickly recap the ground rules for RMT:
<p style='background-color: #fcfcfc; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444;]1. In order to get feedback on your own team, you must first provide feedback on the teams that have been recently posted. This is the golden rule and is what makes this whole thing work.
<p style='background-color: #fcfcfc; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444;]2. If you just post your team without giving any feedback, your post will be deleted.
<p style='background-color: #fcfcfc; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444;]3. Please refrain from commenting on teams that have been posted by others that have not followed the golden rule.
<p style='background-color: #fcfcfc; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #444444;]4. Keep it civil. Constructive criticism is fine. But there is a line and please don't cross it.
