Thanks Mick.

On Jed, I'm taking the risk with him because I presume he'll be named.
I s'pose if he's not, maybe Lang or Gregson will be picked. Otherwise, might just be stuck with him.
At least it gives us a chance to use bench loophole this round ;)

When will final teams be announced? Prob today yeah?

Gonna take a flyer on Brayshaw.

If you don't have Cockatoo, it may be a good idea to ensure you have enough $$$ to go Anderson --> Cockatoo if need be.

I don't have Cockatoo, and I don't have the spare cash either :(

I'm only running with 4 prem mids, so I need 7 rookies, and I've already got Cripps.

It's difficult to choose the 6th one, and I don't have the $$ for Cockatoo, Newton et al.

At this stage, I've moved Saad into the guts and brought in Brown down back.

Not ideal, but I prefer Brown over the Sinclair and Nelson types.

Do you think that's ok, or should I downgrade Swan to bring a better mid rook in instead of Brown?

Very timely ant, much appreciated..

With Brown if you are content for a slow burn with a low ceiling but good JS he is your man, anything else and you need to look further.

anth and tth - awesome work.

I have this feeling in my bones that someone from the ts community will win the overall price this year.

keep up the great work.

Cheers mate very handy.

Is it me or are the options quite thin this year? Seems like most teams are going to have pretty much the same players or least rookie players. With so many of the rookies yet to play and most named on benches and/or sub risk is it the best policy to just put whoever does actually avoid the vest onto the field rather than risking say an Anderson or ellis-yolmen getting the vest? Obviously the further we go into the round the more difficult it is to avoid those things.

So Brayshaw hasn't played a preseason game and is priced at 212k, quite a high risk isn't it haysie? Van Berlo's numbers weren't great this preseason but at around the same price ive opted to go for him.

Some of the decisions I still need to make are brown or Oxley and Hogan and lamb. Leaning towards brown and Hogan at this stage but that could change! Also when do the head to head games start?

I agree, it's his JS that is appealing, but I was also pleasantly surprised by his SC scores over preseason.

I've just thought too that I could swing Swan or Bonts or someone into midfield and select Lamb/McGrath instead.
That would free up some $$ too

I was kinda hoping that option would free up enough $$ to go Anderson to Cockatoo if needed... but it still leaves me about $3k short :(

I think Ill stick with Brown.

Hey all,
Been a bit quiet. Just got a quick one to put too the people.
Having trouble with my last rookie selection in the mid.
It's one between 4 of these guys Newton & Brayshaw from Melb, Cockatoo and Jed Anderson.

I'm leaning towards Cockatoo as his X-Factor and size stands out the most.

Not having seen Brayshaw there is nothing to go on yet read he was a prolific ball winner and had 26 odd touches recently.

Newton has time under his belt so may get more of a go.

And finally Anderson must have been picked up and targeted by the Hawks to fill a role they need. Yet going for their 3rd in a row with 'depth coming out of their' you can see where I'm going here. Not sure whether he will get consistent games strung together.

Don't really want to burn too many corrective trades this year. Already have one planned come round 3. Limit is 2 on current plan. Yet can see that going out the window come round 2 lockout.

Thanks very handy summary.
Quick question. I really like Steele from GWS with his FWD multi position in the midfield. Is he likely to get a game?

I believe his opportunities will be limited, we have a lot of great young guns struggling to break into the 22, he is one of them at this point.

Put Swan into the middle and get Lamb?

I'd go with either Cockatoo or Anderson, but for you Newton might be the best option as he's probably got the best JS out of the 4 and you're already planning on correcting a rookie, which I'm just guessing might be McIntosh if you didn't have him?
