Surprised nobody's jumped on this article in the Age yet: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/resting-riewoldt-20120213-1t2d7.html Indicates Riewoldt will probably be rested for a couple of games during the season which makes him a little less tasty. Would you still be happy to pick him if he only plays 20 games and you are relying on rookies for a couple?
Yes, I saw this ExPrez and it has me concerned, as I currently have NRoo in my side. This was the quote that concerned me the most.... "Right now my body feels good. I've got no issues, no soreness and hopefully that continues throughout the season, but the nature of these injuries (says) there's going to be times they flare up and you have to manage them" Not sure if he can be trusted this year.
Maybe there's a case for breaking one of the golden rules and starting with him, then trading him out just before Rd13 (his bye). Yes you make a sideways premium trade but you avoid a donut (esp if you start with Buddy and Martin). Roo would be more likely to be rested in the 2nd half of the year so there's a case that you could make up points with that trade.
Its not limited to Riewoldt, it will be like Geelong last year. Expect all the older guys to have week or two off during the years.
I said to myself last year when i traded him in for the 2nd time that he will not be in my team next year due to his inconsistency last year and im sticking to it
