Wellity well, last weeks high certainly crashed back down Earth with a mighty thud! I reckon the villians column will be chock full of premiums this week, though there are a fair few premiums that made up for that!

Melbourne vs Carlton
Result: Carlton by 47, 13.15.93 to 6.10.46
Well, its been mentioned all weekend that this was one of the most boring games ever to watch, and if the chat was anything to go by- with the third quarter chat turning to the departure of Oprah Winfrey, that well- we agreed. That said, it still didnt take away from Chris Judds mighty effort, 31 touches and 12 tackles for a solid 155SC- so much for being a late withdrawal! His partner in crime, Marc Murphy matched Judd for touches, but could only score a 147SC. We saw a bit of a drop down to Melbournes top scorer with Colin Sylvia collecting 21 touches for a 113SC, Scotland scored a 109SC off 26 touches while Carrazzo rounded out the top5 with a 107SC. Not too many disappointment on the Blues side, with only Duigan and his 34SC a slight on their coaches squad. On Melbournes side, we saw only 4 players break 85 so there is a lot to not like here, but for mine it was Moloney who disappointed the most with only a 68SC, 40 points below his average; and Evans who could only get himself a 41SC after last weeks solid debut. Still not sold on Evans job security with all of the Dees mids to come back, so he might be saving us from a dangerous bench option.
Heros: Judd, Murphy, Sylvia
Villians: Duigan, Moloney, Simpson
North Melbourne v Sydney
Result: Sydney by 1, 10.12.72 to 9.17.71
Oh what could have been for the Roos! Had they been able to kick straight, it would have been a completely different ball game! Still, it was a hugely entertaining contest, one of the best final 5 minutes Ive seen all year, with Grundys heroics in the final few seconds- taking a big grab on the last line of defence- going some big things to his scores. The top scorer for the game however was Daniel Wells who managed a 152SC through 26 touches and a goal when it counted. Grundy scored a 142 off just 22 touches, but his game saving grab at the death made the difference. Swallow collected 28 disposals for 129SC while SDThompson got himself a 121SC from just 19 touches and 2 goals. Marty Mattner had a solid return to form with a tasty 117SC. Plenty of villians in this game though, Goodes with a 68, Rawlings with a 65, Harvey a 63, Anthony a 62, Kennedy and Pratt on 57 and Malceski with a 55. but it wasnt all doom and gloom, Alex Johnson holders will be pretty happy with his 76SC while the people who traded Sandi out for Goldstein will be smiling- despite picking up an injury early, he managed to battle through and score a 112 off just 5 touches! (oh, and 53 hitouts!)
Heros: Wells, Grundy, Swallow
Villians: Goodes, Harvey, Rawlings
Fremantle v St. Kilda
Result: St. Kilda by 46, 15.12.102 to 7.14.56
Although they won by a solid margin, I reckon most Saints fans were lamenting the loss of both Goddard and Dempster to some scary looking head/neck injuries. Thankfully, its looking like the early reports are good and they might even be right to go next week- but boy are they gunna be sore (and hey, injuries wont save Goddard from the villians list!). Dal Santo starred with 30 touches, 20 of which were kicks, we enough to see him top score with a 137SC. Then it was the return of the Freo defenders! Paul Duffield knocked up a super 133SC with Broughton hot on his heels, kicking two goals and securing a 121SC. Reckon theres a good chance that they could keep scoring these high numbers while big
211 is out! David Mundy, while worrying early, flew home with a 119SC off 21 touches at a massive 90% DE. Sam Fisher rounded out the top5 with a 118SC- Ease up son! I want to bring you in after round 14! On the poorer side, Riewoldt disappointed with a sorry 73SC- nowhere close to his 160 average over the past 3 games! Fyfes 58SC with a 52% DE and Goddards 57SC were some pretty poor results. On the plus side though, Siposs is improving with a 52SC while pre-season favourite Tendai Mzungu was very good- knocking up a 77SC off 24 touches. Reckon hes a must get for every coach this week.
Heros: Dal Santo, Duffield, Broughton
Villians: Fyfe, Riewoldt, Goddard
Gold Coast v Geelong
Result: Geelong by 66, 21.13.139 to 10.13.73
Im a big fan of the underdog, so watching the Gold Coast really stick it to the cats in the first half was a very enjoyable affair- the highlight of course was seeing Harmichael drill his first goal from 50 meters out. But it wasnt to be, Geelong switched it up a gear in the second half and piled on 13.10 to 1.5. Stevie Johnson put in an inspired performance picking up 29 touches and booting 7 goals for a 162SC. What hurts me the most about that performance is that the current leader in the Sportsbet comp is holding him, and that massive performance was enough to score him a phenominal 250 points!! Thats gunna take a lot of work to catch up on! The next highest score was Jarad Brennan- the enigma managed a 138SC off of 23 touches. Joel Selwood was just behinnd with 27 touches at a poor 56% DE- though his contested work (19 CPs) were enough to see him score a very nice 136SC. Stokes came in next, kicking 2 goals for a 131SC while Podsiadly kicked 4 of his own for a 119SC. Special notes go to Zac Smith, filling in for Sandi admiriably with a mighty 114SC, Ablett who backed up his last 198 with a 31 touch, 106SC, Swallow who had a solid 84SC, Stanley who got an 83SC and Lynch who broke his bubble with a very tidy 69SC- should be enough to see him moving well and truely in the right direction! and finally Vardy, who looks a decent downgrade-of-Sandi option with a nice 76SC. Although it was a drumming, there were a few cats who under performed, but none worse than Paul Chapman who could only manage a lowly 65SC- hurts if you set him as captain! Some of the other villians were the GCs Daniel Harris who is asking to be traded with a 31SC, Matera who just couldnt do enough with a 28SC and Prestia who was subbed on and scored a 16.
Heros: SJ, Brennan, Selwood
Villians: Chapman, Harris, Matera
Richmond v Port Adelaide
Result: Port Adelaide by 15, 13.11.89 to 10.14.74
Well, it was a bit of a debarcle up at Marrara oval with the kick off being delayed with the lights cutting out pre-game. They managed to get them back up and running, only for one of them to go down at the end of the first. It brought about a very real possibility for a second tower going down and either, the game being rescheduled had it happened before half time, or the leader being declared the winner if it happened after half time- either result would have been a bit of a mockery though. As it turned out though, I reckon the Tigers have got to be lamenting the loss of 4 points, had they not sold their home game, I reckon it they would have been able to get up. The top scorer for the game was Travis Boak. Hes been pretty down on expectations thus far this year, but a 156SC off 23 touches was a fantastic effort. Former Bomber- Bachar Houli put in a fantastic 149SC off 31 touches while Foley continues to sink the boot into the coaches who ditched him, this time knocking up a mighty 145SC off 34 disposals. Robbie gray put in a strange one, a Rioli-esc 132SC off just 13 touches- though he did kick 4 majors. Finally, Brogan rounded out the top5, his 110 showing just how hot the Richmond ruck tick has been this year. A couple of average performances this game though, top of the list was young JRoo, who kicked 3.1 but could only get 63SC, Batchelor fell back to earth with a 49SC while Conca picked himself up an injury and finished the game with just a 37SC, just missing his BE. Jacobs did alright on Ports side with a 66SC while Phillips got his average of 50 and got another tidy cash rise for his owners.
Heros: Boak, Houli, Foley
Villians: Conca, JRoo, Kornes
Brisbane v Adelaide
Result: Brisbane by 40, 15.11.101 to 8.13.61
Sunday started off with the Lions showing just how dangerous they can be with big JB in the squad, although he was kept goalless, the Lions are now 2-0 since hes come back. Scott Thompson continued his purple patch top scoring for the game with a massive 36 touches for a 162SC! Mitch Clark could be turning a corner with JB back in the squad- collecting a very nice 151SC- surely nobody had the stones to move Sandi to him though!? Simon Black returned to his best form, picking up 32 touches, along with 16 contested got him a 131 and form mine, 3 brownlow votes. Leuenberger collected 41 hitouts on his way to a very nice 122 while Pearce Hanley continued his good year with a 121SC. Smith disappointed a little with only 58SC, while Matthew Wright might have got himself a few more Rising Star votes with a 67SC. Green did nicely for those who had him with a 599 but Bewick (37) and OBrien (9) were pretty poor. Other disappointments were Jed Adcock outputting just 65SC, while Dangerfield managed just 44SC.
Heros: Thompson, Clark, Black
Villians: Adcock, Dangerfield, Walker
Collingwood v West Coast
Result: Collingwood by 52, 16.9.105 to 7.11.53
Looks like Collingwood back to their scary best, putting if for mine, their best performance for the year in a fair demolition of the Coasters. Daisy starred for the second week in a row, collecting 30 touches and 2 goals for a very nice 157SC. Pendlebury did quite nicely for himself as well with 31 disposals and 2 goals as well, for 138SC. Neon Leon put in an excellent performance with 25 touches for a 113SC. Priddis top scored for the Eagles, his 32 touches being enough to net him a 112SC, meanwhile Shaw bounced right out of the villians column for a 110SC. Speaking of the villians column, it got a couple this week- namely Dawes who could only manage a 64SC and SuperCoach favourite, Jack Darling could only score a 47SC against the mighty Magpies.
Heros: Thomas, Pendlebury, Priddis
Villians: Darling, Dawes, LeCras
Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn
Result: Hawthorn by 29, 13.13.91 to 9.8.62
The final game of the round saw Hawthorn take out the win in a canter and boy oh boy, it was a DreamTeam fest with 10 Hawks cracking the DreamTeam ton! Brent Guerra played out of his skin with 35 disposals and 17 marks (15 of them uncontested) for a massive 169SC- it was Bowdenariffic! Hodge is well and truely back scoring a 152SC off 33 touches, and with his awesome run home, it could be worth bringing him in this week (though last week would have been better!) Birchall and Boyd shared 3rd place honours with 128SC with 28 and 26 touches respectively while Mitchell rounded out the top5 with a very solid 125SC. Gotta say though, I thought Suckling was a little stiffed with 24 touches at a 96% DE only scoring him a 104, but with the high possesions scored in the backline, something had to give! No real villians in the Hawks squad, only Savages 53SC worth noting- the Dogs on the other hand was all villian all the time with Lakes 54, Gilbees 37 and Liberatores 26 leading the charge- though Higgins 62 and Cross 68 were worth noting as well.
Heros: Guerra, Hodge, Boyd
Villians: Liberatore, Gilbee, Lake
So, thats the games- there we a couple of big scores in there, so if you hit the right combination, I reckon you could be in for a big score- though I reckon 2150-2200 was about par for the round. Goddard could be causing a few headache for people, particularly for those with Deledio or Newman (or even worse- BOTH! - Hi Impromptu )
So there we go, dont forget- Ill be locking down the TS|CCC comp tonight, so if you arent in already, what are you waiting for!! And while youre here, let us know how you went!
