So, the little tacker has finally arrived. But boy, he didnt want to give up without a fight! Jo was in full blown active labour for a full 24 hours before he finally threw in the towel.
Needless to say, she put in an epic performance without going the epidural.
End result though, is a beautiful healthy young lad who goes by the name of Elijah Henry.
Or as we call him, Eli, weighing in at a respectable 4.07k with all ten fingers and toes.
Both Jo and baby are doing well.
Anyways, regular commenter Anthak has put in a great performance of his own, coming to the fore and knocking out a great post for this weeks review. Its a big-in, so its over the break!- Anyways, time to get some sleep, stats are updating.

As Walesy is obviously preoccupied, still celebrating Spain’s World Cup win of course, I
have decided to give a ‘round review’ a go. I’ll get straight into it:
First game of the round on Friday night saw Port Adelaide take on Collingwood on the same
day that their coach quit/was sacked. Must have been an emotional day for the Port players
and the game played out that way too. First of all, Choco’s mate Josh Carr (80 SuperCoach points)
was called up late to replace one of the newest Port players in Jay Schultz - I’m thinking
this could have been Carr’s last game also. The Power got off to a great start and led by 38
points early in the 2nd term, but the emotion of the day was always going to catch up with
them and the Pies quickly got themselves back into the game and ran away with it in the
end, winning by 26 points. David Rodan top scored for the game with 146, followed by (a
once again untagged against Port) Dane Swan with a 39 possession 127 and Pendlebury
was close behind on 125. Jolly scored a ton for the third week in a row and Blair impressed
again with a 104 and may interest some looking for a downgrade target in the midfield.
Lowest score went to John Anthony with 29 who is having a shocking year.
The next day saw the Mighty Hawks take on the Cats for the 4th time since they won the ‘08
grand final and it resulted in the Hawks 4th loss in the same period. All 4 games have
been decided by less than 9 points and this game was one of the best. Was a close game
throughout and had the Hawks have kicked a bit straighter at goal, they probably would
have iced the game before the last quarter. However it wasn’t to be and Geelong had their
noses in front at the right time, winning by 2 points as a Buddy torpedo from 60 out flew out
of bounds on the full as the final siren went. Cannot criticise him too much as he top scored
for the Hawks with 141 points. Bartel top scored for the game with 156 followed closely by
Selwood’s 144. Not so Perma Cap, GAJ spudded it up with a 79 along with Corey Enrights
38 after being on 37 at quarter time. Schoenmakers hasn’t really lived up to the pre-season
hype and he had the lowest score for the game with 20. The Hawks can take a lot from this
game and should get over the line if these two teams meet again later in the season. Haha,
let’s hope so anyway.
The other Saturday day game was between the Weagles and a resurgent Adelaide. This
game was also close throughout with the Eagles running out of legs and being overrun at the
end to lose by 22 points. The big story was Ricky Henderson who top scored for the match
with 136 in his 5th game. I noticed that the SuperCoach leader has him in her side along with about
20,000 others; looks like being a great choice. TipRat has continued his late run of form with
the 2nd highest score of the game with 109, and Matt Rosa top scored for West Coast with
106. Waters played a great game before getting injured and finished with 70 points. After
being KO’d last week, Jaensch came off the Baensch to score an impressive 11 possession
86. Strijik scored a solid 51 and looks like holding his place in the side. Josh Kennedy hasn’t
played well since he smashed the Hawks in R7 and scored the 2nd lowest score this game
with 31, while Schofield had the lowest score of 29.
Saturday night saw two games. The first I’ll talk about is Brisbane v St Kilda. A game which
saw the long awaited return of Roo (62 points), the late withdrawal of Goddard with the
Saints ‘flu’ and also saw Brisbane match the saints for most of the match before St Kilda
finally won by 14 points. For those that went with RockLobster over Pods, the decision may
not end up that bad with the former once again scoring a ton with the equal highest score
of the match (117), equal with Rischitelli. Montagna top scored for the Saints with 114. Sam
Fisher (64) and Fevola (41) disappointed while Polkinghorne had the lowest score with 21.
The other Saturday night game saw the Tigers win their 5th game out of their last 6 beating
top4 hopeful Fremantle in convincing fashion, winning by 19 points. Adam McPhee
surprisingly scored a whopping 173 for the highest score of the round. Dan Connors
impressed again with 133, living up to all the talk from Chris88 that he was a good
downgrade target a few weeks back. Despite J Reiwoldt’s 130, he will still drop in value
as his 200 is now out of his rolling average. Dusty Martin once again scored solidly with
86 and Webber BBQ repaid the faith a lot of people had in him with a 79 on return to the
seniors. Unfortunately Ben Nason was injured early and only scored 15, hopefully he
is not out for too long as he is having a great first season. Ben Grifiths was also injured
and bottom scored for the match with only 7 points; I must add he was also a downgrade
recommendation from Chris88, haha, only kidding of course, no one can predict injuries to
happen, except in the case of Chappy maybe??
The first game on Sunday saw what about 95,000 coaches were hoping for: Paul Roos to
play Adam Goodes predominantly in the midfield! And guess what? He responded with the
equal highest score of the round with 173 points, 33 possessions and 3 goals! Meanwhile
there was a footy match going on and Sydeny outplayed the Kangaroos to win by 30 points.
Kennelly also repayed the faith that many who kept him through injury and bad form had,
with the 2nd highest score of 139, just reaching his BE of 137. Top scorer for the roos was
Leigh Adams with 102. Dan Hannebury continued his strong season and push for rising star
with a 96. The doc at the Kangaroos may need to find a new job soon after advising the
club that Petrie was right to play the game and then after he was injured early, he advised
them that he would still be ok to play, however Petrie looked in obvious discomfort and was
consequentially benched for most of the 2nd half, he scored 48 for the record. Garlett and
Greenwood both scored lower than 20 with the former actually reaching his BE of 3! I’d say
the Roos would be a little worried about their next game against the Tigers – who would
have thought a couple of months ago.
Luckily for Walesy, he probably couldn’t listen to or watch the Bombres game this weekend
as they were well beaten by Melbourne in the other Sunday day game by 19 points. I think
the Bombers gave away seven 50m penalties or something which would not have helped
their cause. Brad Green showed his class to top score with 161 and 5 goals. Winderlich top
scored for Essendon with 30 possessions and 139 points. Jamar continued his impressive
season with 138 points; I can’t wait for his matchup with Sandilands this week! Sylvia had a
great return match with 29 possessions, 2 goals and 125 points. Paul Johnson’s first game
back in the side wasn’t as memorable with only 20 points and the lowest score for the match.
And the last game of the round saw the Dogs smash the hapless Blues. Ratten said during
the week that his main priority was to stop Lake; however their plans mustn’t have worked
as he top scored with 162. Boyd was the next best dog with a 33 possession 140 and Judd
was the highest scoring Blue also with 140. BBBBH continued his up and down season with
a 6 goal 113 and a small injury which saw him on the pine at the end of the game and may
miss the trip to Darwin as well. Brad Johnson (91 points) was also injured and will more than
likely miss the Darwin game as well. Missy Higgins returned to form with a much needed ton.
And as far as we know, Paul Bower (79 points) got through the game unscathed! The former
Hurler, Setanta scored the lowest score with 13.
The last game on Sunday night was the world cup final which saw a great game between
The Netherlands and Spain, which went into extra time after no goals in the first 90 minutes.
With Iniesta scoring the winner with about 2 minutes left in overtime! I personally think
Walesy and Jo should name their newborn son Andres in his honour. But that’s prob going
a bit far. Maybe if it was Timmy Cahill who scored the winner it would be more appropriate
to name your child after him. Maybe one day we will see Australia in these big matches.
Spain have easily been the best team in the world for the past few years and are very
deserving of this win. The way they played throughout this world cup was a pleasure to
watch!
That’s it for me; I hope everyone had a great round. It’s on to Round 16 now, a big one for
me. Since about R8 I have been setting my Mums team up to hopefully win the $1000 and
maybe the car in Round 16, although highly unlikely, it’s been a lot of fun and my anticipation
for this round has been very high for many weeks now, so bring it on!
Lastly (but obviously not least), a huge congratulations to Jo and Walesy on the birth of their
baby boy. Well we haven’t been officially told, but im sure it wouldn’t have been the world
cup keeping Walesy away from these parts over the last couple of days. I hope everything
went well and that everyone is healthy!
If you have got this far, thanks heaps for reading this. How did everyone go in Round 15?
Round 15 review. Walesy 3, hospital 0.
