So round 2 has come and gone- and before we know it, were looking down the barrel of using our 2 correction trades. The two big options right now are looking like Liberatore and Curnow- so if youve got a couple of under performing mids, take a look at them, cause after this week- theyre gunna start going Moo.

But Cashcows and trading isnt what were here to discuss, this is for this round in football.

Started off as we do, on a Friday evening, and a match that Im sure we expected to be either boring, or a blowout. And thats how it started, Richmond looked a rabble, St Kilda were dominating and then the cruelest twist of all, Jack Riewoldt went down with a concussion that left him on Zero. Funny thing is, Without Joey (Roo Jnr), Richmond looked a whole different team and made an absolute crack of it! Daniel Jackson top scored for the game with a 145 which was pretty damn good for 91DT. The Tiprat came second in the game with a 141. For that, he kick 4 goal 7, which included a missed set shot that would have won the game. Would have been a huge game for the lad. Deledio got a 136, with an outstanding performance against Goddard while Newman scored 134- which is raising the question, a 133 average, can it last and will he be a top7 back come the end of the year? We saw a bit of a return to form for Foley, scoring a solid 88, but question marks still abound with the bloke. On the rookie front, Conca, helbig and Batchelor all rolled fairly averagely and I imagine a number will be looking to switch Conca out for one of the big rookies this week. Gilberts move to the forward line is looking uglier by the day with a 59, but who it does look to be helping is one Sam Fisher who picked up an impressive 121- if that continues to next week, it could be worth bringing him in after round 4.

Finally, and this deserves its own paragraph, while Roo was unfortunate, particularly to the 20k people who traded him in, the real tragedy of this game was Lenny Hayes going down with a year ending ACL. Seriously, one of the nicest blokes in footy and its a damn shame that its happened. Get well Lenny.

Saturday started with the Roos copping an absolute hiding at the hands of the Collingwood powerhouse. Collingwood have stamped their foot on this premiership race with another huge 80+ win. Leading the way early was Scott Pendlebury with a huge effort of 162, but his partner in crime, Dane Swan, despite a 4 touch first quarter finished the game with 40 touches and 152SC, which aint too bad if you set him as captain. Dawes put in another solid 110, but the question still remains- can he keep that up when the Pies come across some opposition that doesnt get smashed. Thomas did well with a 107 while Harvey top scored for the Roos with a 102. As we saw with last game, the rookies disappointed with Tarrant(49), Richardson (43), Atley (34) and Krakouer (36), though to be fair, Krakouer only played a quarter after coming on as the sub. That in itself is going to be a huge talking point with Kraks being involed in the sub two games in a row now. Should we bench him? Or hope that his huge PPM (points-per-minute) gets him a full game? At least we will see if hes named the sub with Collingwood playing two friday games in a row. The disappointing premiums from this game were Shaws 81 from being subbed, Rawlings with a 65, Anthony with another sub-effected 40 and Darren Jolly with a 56. I reckon if you gambled on big Jolly, youll have to think long and hard about side-waysing to one of the other inform rucks at that price-point.

The other Saturday game was Port vs West Coast, and after hearing all week from fans from both clubs that the Eagles were gunna get smash, was pleasantly suprised to see them taking the cookies by 3 goals (though 13 more scoring shots!). Andrew Embley led the way with 32 touches and 4 goals for a very nice 167SC. Shuey did the midpricers proud with 27 touchs and 3 goals for 146SC. I reckon hed be pretty stiffed to not get the Rising Start nomination but there was one other rookie whos made a claim to that, so well have to see. Cox put in a typically Coxian effort with a mighty 129SC while Rosa was back in career-best form with a 109. Priddis rounded out the top 5 with a 107. Darling stood up as a rookie here with a fairly solid 70, as did a sub-effected Gaff with a 60. Irons however was a little lacking with a 47 off 10 touches, but looks to be a bit of a slow-burner, and with no bye for a while is probably worth holding onto. People looking for a PoD with Cassisi will be upset to see him scoring a 48SC along with a 6 week knee injury, while the SuperCoach God, Hurn, was off his game picking up only 60SC off his 63DT- very un-Hurn like.

Finally we get to the debut of the Gold Coast Suns and while I expected them to struggle, I didnt expect a Port inspired 119 loss. (Is that joke still funny?). A 9 goal first term led the way and has us all glancing to see which player we have that will be playing the GC twice this year. Dogs, Demon, Hawks, Cats, Crows and Lions premiums just got a little tastier, so if youre going to trade into them, get in before they play the GC, and if youre looking for a Grand Final boost, look to pick up a few Hawks after round 6. Murphy top scored for the game with a 133 off 36 touches, he was followed up with Walker (131), Thornton (127), Gibbs (127) and Judd (117)- however with 12 ton getters, thats over 50% of their team, they did very well for themselves. The only GC boys to ton up was Rischitelli (114), and who will be everyones favorite rookie (109). Pre-seasons fabled beast, Zac Smith looks to be a solid back-up ruck option with a solid 84 on Debut- boy, he certainly has a great jump on him, however do remember that the Blues ruck tick is very hot, so still use him with caution. Too many rookies played this game, so take a look through them, Swallow, Matera and Stanley did pretty well, but its a team that I know will get rotated pretty heavily so watch closely. Meanwhile on Carltons side, Ed Curnow is going to be watched very closely- another 110+ for the boy with see him be a delicious cash cow, but with his JS still questionable, and a game against the formidable pies next week might not see him mooing as loudly as we all hope.

The other Saturday night game saw a titanic struggle as a Selwood-less Geelong headed out West to take on the Dockers. A tight game throughout, but ultimately inaccurate kicking (and a 2.6 final quarter) by the Dockers saw Geelong come out as 11 point victors. Enright continued his excellent form, top scoring with a 139, while Ling looked a new man picking up 29 touches on the way to a 118SC. Pavlich matched him with a 118SC, Hill was in form securing 116 off only 20 touches while Varcoe delivered after last weeks disappointment with a 114SC. Once again, it looks like Palmer was involved in the sub, this time being the sub- while the unlucky recipient of the Red vest was none other than crowd favorite- Nick Lower. Ouch! Sadly, Walters couldnt replicate last weeks game-winning heroics and scored a measly 33, which still beat debut Christensen with an 8 touch 30.

Sunday saw the Bulldogs destroy the Lions in true Gold Coast fashion- ugly days for QLD football I reckon. Griffen led the way with a 33 touch 156SC, while Boyd managed to improve on last weeks effort with a solid 129SC, while the other Rising Star nomination option, Liberatore scored a massive 127SC. Thatll hang in his rolling average for another 2 weeks, so if you can get on, get on. Josh Hill scored a 117SC and the top Lion for the game was mid-priced Jed Adcock, who finally delivered on his pre-season promise with a 111SC. Just for the sake of tracking him, perennial SuperCoach spud Daniel Merrett managed an 80. Ive mentioned Libba, who dominated, but the other rookies in this game did alright, with Markovic (53), oBrien (67), Bewick (43), Lester (40), McCauley (34) and substitute, C. Beams with a miserly 11.

Up in Sydney we saw an absolute cracker and the Swans put an end to the Essendon Hype Machine. After being behind for most of the game, the Swans managed to get themselves infront when it counted running out 5 point victors. I gotta say, the new 3 man interchange was obvious as the players were absolutely stuffed by the last quarter- at one stage, Jobe was taking a 50 meter set shot for goal, and he could barely keep himself standing- he looked absolutely buggered. The biggest recipient of the close game was Jude Bolton. 17 contested touches, 9 tackles and 3 goals- including the game winner, contributed to him scoring a round-high 198 points. Goodes, an eternity away represented with a 118, while Paddy Ryder top scored for the bombers with a 116. Okeefe played another solid game with a 108 and two players drew for 5th place on 104, Hardingham and Mumford. Heppell was again fantastic with an 81, but a number of mid-priced options failed to thrive with Jetta (54), Zaharakis (43) and Everitt (39) all dissappointing their coaches.

Finally we get to the last game of the round, Hawthorn v Melbourne. Through inaccurate kicking, Melbourne went into the half time break with a fairly solid 3 goal lead, but after that, the Hawks stepped up a gear, sure they put on another 13 behinds, but also another 13 goals to take it out by 45 points. Cyril Rioli was the star, getting plenty of the ball and 142SC. Suckling had one out of the bag, collecting 32 touches and 139SC while Franklin, after sitting on 0 at half time, finished the game wurg 22 touches, 2 goals and 108SC. Hale did everything his coaches could have hoped for with a beautiful 92, while Luke Hodge did everything we could have hoped for with a 79 in his return game- heres hoping he comes down a little for a round 7 upgrade! Savage gave a handy return with a 71 while Luke Tapscott was again fantastic with a 91. Surely hell get the RS nomination one of these days, but sadly, its probably not going to be this week.

Now, lets take a look at that Ranking tab- we have an all new leader, TS regular and all round good bloke, Meataxe is sitting beautifully in top spot with a fantastic follow up to last week. Youll have to watch out though, Impromptu from the SCE is hot on your heels with a couple of interesting selections- working out pretty well so far, and he definitely knows what hes doing, so good luck mate- its a long journey from here on out!

The TS Platinum league moved up to 4th place with the 2nd highest league score for the round, gotta knock those YSCC boys from their post! Theres 4 other SuperCoach leagues in the top 20, and at least 3 of my other TS leagues sitting just outside, so keep it up guys! What I love most about the TS leagues is that outside of the Platinum, there is absolutely no elitism involved, its just a bunch of guys and girls, who know enough to visit the site, putting together strong leagues- great fricking work guys! Lets keep it up!

So, how has everyone else gone this week? Planning on bringing in Curnow and Libba for some cash generation? Or feeling a little tentative? Hows your TS league going? ready to jump into the top20 next week!?

Big decisions this week guys, the salary movements officially kick off this week, so we need to keep abreast of that- so keep an eye out for Lucass best buys through the week- itll be a good one.
