So, its been a pretty big week in football. I think we learnt a lot this week about how the season is shaping up. Firstly, the Pies are officially a force to be reckoned with. Secondly, even though they lost, so are Fremantle. They put in a strong effort in a losing side, and really, considering the Pies current form, held their own for most of the game (They did let the game away early). Sydney are, sadly, not as strong as their initial form predicted. Melbourne, while still markedly improved on last year, are still young and inconsistant. Geelong are officially as force and Geelong V Collingwood is pencilled in for that last weekend in September. Still, its just May. Cant look too far ahead yet. Hawthorn, with all their big ins were lucky to get a win against the Tigers, but I still think that the hit out did them good and that theyll come out stronger for it next week. Carlton looked the part coming from behind against the Power, and with the Saints falling to the Dons, look to be the team to replace St Kilda in the top4. Though the Doggies are still in the hunt their.

Anyways, it turns out that this week was umpire appreciation week. Looking through the comments in this place though, you wouldnt have guessed it! There was a distinct amount of animocity towards the boys in white. However, while I want to keep the integrity of the comments of this place to the highest calibur, I do understand the feeling of being in the moment, heck- I did the same thing a number of weeks ago. So, were gunna try to come up with a method to ensure that both groups can enjoy themselves here. If youve got a suggestion, feel free to make it in the comments, I would love to hear it.

So. Collingwood v Fremantle. The battle for #1. The ground was set over at Subiaco for a huge clash. And from watching the comments in these parts, passions were fired up. But, Im just gunna talk about the Supercoach. Travis Cloke top scored with a 5 goal haul- netting 159 points. Sandiland continued his awesome season with a massive 43 hitouts and 150 points. While Barlow scored a mighty 138. Hello keeper. Luke Ball put out his third big game in a row and we all know what that means to the salary. Means he might just make it to $500k- carn you good thing! Leon Davis has gone below $400k, but *still* hasnt bottomed out! Its a worry. Hobbit Ballantyne has officially peaked, so its time to trade him out. Meanwhile Fyfe seems to have done what so many rookies have done this year and fallen off after their 2nd or 3rd trade.

Saturday saw the Dogs run away from the Swans. Lake top scored with 171 meanwhile Barry Hall rewarded his coaches with 5 goals and 153 points. Ouch to everyone who traded him out! Marty Mattner paid back his coaches with a solid 121 while one Adam Goodes bounce back with a ton. Malceski put in a rare bad game with a 67, while Grant put in a solid 65. Hargrave continues his bad form while Giansiracusa has fallen, both with 60s. Saddest news of the game was Murphy getting injured with a 48.

The other game on Saturday saw West Coast get themselves over the Demons in a close game. Well, close until the last quarter. We had a pair of big games from both McDonald and Priddis. Meanwhile Cox is officially back in form. Gunna be a perfect upgrade for Hille if he sees a few weeks. I think Hurn must have listened to me a little last week, this time getting 21 touches for his ton. Sheppard is the big news for the week, getting a mighty 87 points. Great news for those looking to downgrade a backman this week! Meanwhile, Stevenson rewarded those coaches who pick him up this week. At the other end of the spectrum we so the two Demon livewires of A. Davey and C. Sylvia spudding it up and punishing all the coaches who are holding them.

Saturday night saw the Cats smash the Lions. The top 9 players for the night wera all cats with Stevie J top scoring with a bag of 6. Hes gunna be heading back into $500k territory next week, and is looking like a good pick up to those who grabbed him. Ablett was disappointing with a lazy ton. Shame Ablett, shame. Meanwhile, Maguire top scored for the Lions with a 101. Welcome back to the team champ, sadly I traded you out last week. Duncan did a nice job getting a game, but sadly only put a 42 on the table, while Fevola is surely injured with 3 touches and a 22. Surely he isnt right.

The other game on Saturday night saw the crows *nearly* get over the line against the Kangaroos. Had they brought their last quarter to the first 3, they would have one the game 28.16 to 0.4. Sadly though, they didnt and as a result, A. Swallow fronted up with a solid 160. He is in absolutely ripping form at the moment. Bock has officially bottomed out with a 108. Not sure if hes back or not, but he is deliciously priced. Meanwhile, Jaensch says hello with a solid 95. Finally, the Tiprat was back to classic TipRat form. Not even a BE of 39 could be reached knocking up a solid 16.

Sunday started off with the toothless tigers taking on the ... beakless? Hawks, with a big last quarter saw them falling 3 points short. While I hear though that it was cartainly not a skills-fest, surely its a step in the right direction for the Tiges. Heres hoping they can get a win up soon... just not next week ok? :D. Hodge is still in massive form and has broken into the $600k club. The biggest score for mine though was Mitchell. A 146 and a welcome return to the coaches who stuck fat with him. With the quality that surrounds him in the middle, surely hes a potential upgrade for the rest of us! Burgoyne had a solid hitout for his first game back while Peterson knocked up a solid 76.

Port v Carlton finally saw a team make it across the line in the last quarter, dominating with 6.6 to 1.1 in the last quarter. C. Judd top scored with 153, while Carrazzo and Kruezer put in some delicious 140+ scores. White continues to look the goods to the coaches that picked him up. Id say the same about Waite, a delicious 111- but sadly, it looks like hell be spending a couple of weeks on the sideline for an errant elbow.

The final game saw the Bomber stand tall against the Saints. While inaccurate kicking certainly played its part, its good to see that agressive football is beating the lock down defensive game that the Saints have been bringing to the table. They are going to be trying to move heaven and earth to get Roo back for the finals- But I hope for footballs sake that it doesnt effect his long-term recovery. Goddard brought home the biscuts with a 147. Which is nice, cause I traded him in this week. While Nicky Dal scored a solid 133. Gotta be looked at for an upgrade! David Hille scored a solid 111, but could also be looking at a spell on the sidelines, so perhaps Cox is calling? Biggest news for the game however, was Gram. Looking like a hammy is going to keep him out for a while. Will probably need to see how long for, but I feel my trade finger itching.

The TooSerious leagues are sitting in the following spots 12th, 27th, 48th, 50th and 103 but the big news is that the TS Pine Warmers have broke into the top 20!! Well done guys! Loving your charge up the ladder!

The highest scorer for the round was a decent 2650, but the highest score in the Sideways comp only managed to secure 4th. It does however, look like a late entrant last week manage to secure top spot with a massive 2538- welcome on board mate- nice work!. Tipping saw a lot of people get 6 tips, but only one picked Sandilands. Nice job Celinef.

The iScent comp this week was won with a solid 38 points. But Ill get into that more tomorrow. :D Anyways, how did you all go?

ps- man- a scary crash for Barrichello! That said though, cmon Webber!
