And so it shall come to pass. Midfield already proving to be too strong for me this week DM. Your Essendon defenders also got a stack of it today. Don't think that my depleted side can get even remotely close to you this week.
Must be feeling generous as I've left 240+ points of defensive scoring on the bench/out of the team. Either that or I'm just a fool. The latter, actually. Probably deserve to get my butt kicked! To Messers Seedsman and Haynes, apologies. In the meantime, I need to pick 4 defenders and stick with them.

I reckon you might have the talent to bridge the gap though - Smith, Masten, Walker etc are pretty good players. I've made so many changes to my defence that I can't figure out who to put on the park!! Now that all of them seem to be fit I think I'll be able to pick 4 or five to run with - Rance, Walker, Newnes, Seedsman and Haynes probably. May/Jonas as a backup. Ihad to choose between Haynes and May this week and chose the wrong guy. Seedsman was never going to play as he is only coming back from injury - now that he is fit he'll start getting games, which is great.
Oh, and a talking point: Rance gets 96 for 10 touches - including at least 1 clanger. Beaten on the night by Hogan. Lewis gets 96 for 35+ touches, a heap of contested possessions and clearances, albeit with 4-5 clangers. Massive last quarter when the game is in the balance. Figure that one out if you dare.

Don't think that my depleted side can get even remotely close to you this week. CR, I must admit that I wasn't convinced when you said that Cradle Mountain were favourites against Foul Bay this week. Given the amount of injuries you have got the Chickens have still been able to field a reasonable side when most sides in the ORFFA would be scoring multiple donuts if they had an equally long injury list. CR, well done on winning your first three games of the season, if all 18 sides in the ORFFA were at full strength or close to it I would put very few sides ahead of the Chickens, probably only Iron Knob, and not by much. The premiership odds may have been set at $7 for Foul Bay but I am sure with the weight of money from the punters those odds would be wound in. Cradle Mountain underperformed during the first 3 rounds of the season, not winning a game, however more disappointing was the way they lost, going down in close games and not working as hard as an undermanned Charlie's Opening last week. Crisis meetings were held in the lead-up to Round 4 with one of the changes being the implementation of a five man leadership group after previously only having a captain and vice-captain. CR you are a bit unlucky to play the Devils when they are giving a very consistent performance with the first 10 players all scoring at least 75. I have currently got it Devils 1000/10 vs Chickens with 613/8 given that three of the Devils seven highest averaging players of the season are still to play you would think they are safe, however with one of these three, Steve Johnson being a shock sub for Geelong the door is still slightly ajar for Selwood and Dangerfield to inspire Foul Bay to fightback and extend their winning streak to four games. CR, I will be very happy for you to be able to say ‘I told you so' if the Devils do go onto score 1,400 plus and have a win. Good luck for the rest of the game and the season.

Well, you didn't quite get the 1400 there DM, but you certainly got a well deserved victory. Was actually happy with how the new recruits in vandenBerg (on debut) and Jong performed for me, but some of the staples of the team are not performing which is costly given the stature of those who are on the injured list. Too much was left to Lukey D in the finish and he couldn't quite get me over the line. Not happy with Rocket Eade bringing in Tom Nicholls at the last minute and letting Zac Smith rot up forward as a result, I mean c'mon Rodney, Smith was only averaging 96 points in the first three games, I think the ruck division was the least of Gold Coast's problems!!! James Kelly is cooked, I made a monumental error in selecting him against his bunnies North Melbourne. Probably cost them the final last year and cost me today. Ibbo had 103 sitting on the pine and probably more annoying is that there was a 140 from Sam Wright (one of the few fit blokes I had who didn't get a game) that would have got me over the line by a point haha! But the right team won, so congrats. You definitely were not a 0-3 team (despite what the record indicated). I know people will rush to say that I am still one of the teams to beat, but I knew it would be tough this year with no Libba and an ageing list. I have had one good week in four and three mediocre weeks. Just got lucky that my good week was when I desperately needed a 1400+ score and that my two really down weeks coincided with Nunawading losing two blokes in the first quarter and Mount Beauty playing three short last week. the 3-1 scoreline could very easily be 1-3 or even 0-4 if it weren't for some luck. With only Judd potentially being an inclusion this week (and for the near future) the time is right to play me. Iron Knob is facing similar problems at the minute, so overall it is good for the competition I guess. That's why I mentioned in the odds that I thought that Darraweit (despite their modest coach's protesting) had the list to cope with injuries the best and still think that the power of Fyfe has the Cows sitting pretty as well. Interesting times ahead!!!
