We need to decide how many teams make the finals, and also what finals system we will use. I think most people voted for a 4 week finals system, because they were thinking we could mirror the AFL's finals system. This: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_finals_system
Happy with this and using afl finals system. Prefer the option of top 3 choosing opponent, but thats probably poll worthy.
Agree with top 8 make finals and 4 week finals system, however if we are going to mirror the AFL finals system then we just use ladder positions to determine who plays who, not picking your opponent as this actually disregards mirroring the AFL finals system!!!
perhaps the pick your opponent might only apply to sudden death matches - ie if using a top 8 format as per the AFL the Elimination finals, week 2 finals and prelims, but not the 1v4 and 2v3 finals ? the main issue is someone could end up playing another team in Week 1 and in the prelims whereas in the AFL system the only "doubled up" matches are in the Grand Final - ie West Coast vs Hawks in 2015
