Manchester United 1 Man City 6. Ill say that again Man United 1 Man City 6!!! What a scoreline! Uniteds defence has looked decidedly dodgy this year - but 6? Its the first time since 1930 that United have let in six at Old Trafford! City were certainly helped by the fact that Jonny Evans - a bomb scare if ever there was one - was sent off just after half-time with the score 1-0 to the blues, nonetheless it was an outstanding performance by them. Thoroughly deserved and frankly it couldve been more.

David Silva was instrumental in tearing United to shreds and there cant be many players in the world better than him at the moment. He wasnt the only hero for City though - Richards, Milner, Balotelli were all exceptional, but really all the players played their part. Balotelli scored twice before being replaced by Dzeko with 20mins remaining. Dzeko scored two but had five clear scoring opportunities as City took advantage of a United defence in disarray. Silva scored once as well as assisting, Richards assisted with one, Milner assisted two while Aguero also got on the scoresheet. Nasri started on the bench and it has to be said that City looked a more solid, balanced team with a midfield of Barry, Yaya and Milner. Fletcher scored a peach of a goal for United and Rooney never stopped running for his team but it was all to no avail.<!--more-->

Ferguson decided not to risk Vidic for this one but hell be desparate to get him back in the team to try and shore up their defence. United will look to punish their next opponents - Everton at Goodison - but dont be surprised to find some team changes.

    QPR v Chelsea

Torres was suspended for this one which gave Drogba the opportunity to impress. Bizarrely he instead got himself red-carded in the first half for a two-footed lunge on Taarabt who was also restored to the starting line-up. By this point Chelsea were already a man down and a goal down. The goal came from the penalty spot after Luiz had nudged Helguson in the back. A soft penalty. Taarabt and Helguson argued over who should take it before Barton came over to tell Taarabt to step aside, which he sensibly did. Taarabt has been stripped of the captaincy, stripped of PK duties and his season is certainly not panning out the way that the early promise suggested. Bosingwa was harshly sent off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity before Drogbas deserved red-card. AVB is facing an FA investigation for his comments about the ref who he criticised in the media. Terry is being investigated for alleged racial abuse of Ferdinand. QPR 1-0. Chelsea remain in third but six points behind City.

    Arsenal v Stoke

Gervinho opened the scoring after a lovely sand-wedge over the top from Ramsey. Stoke, who just love mixing it with Arsenal, equalised when Crouch scored from about two inches.

Wenger surprised everyone by leaving RVP on the bench for this one, later citing muscle tightness and his injury record as the reason. The SOS was sent out to RVP with about 20 minutes to go and he answered it with two goals, both of them from Gervinho passes. RVP has scored eight of Arsenals 15 goals this season.

Its too early to say that Arsenal are back but after an ugly game at Marseille in the UCL that yielded 3pts and a rare clean sheet coupled with a win against a difficult and accomplished Stoke team, they can go into the Chelsea game with a bit of confidence. Arsenal have moved up to 7th. Arsenal 3-1.

    Newcastle v Wigan

Newcastle maintained their fine form with another 3pts against the Latics. Ben Arfa is slowly but surely building up game time coming on for Best at half-time. Cabaye scored his first goal for Newcastle. Hes looked a class act for the Geordies and hopefully this goal will be the catalyst for a few more. Pardew will be happy with their first clean-sheet since 12th Sept.

By all accounts Wigan played well but not even the earlier than expected return to the first team for Rodallega and some nice touches from Moses was enough to stop Wigan from slipping to their sixth straight defeat. They now face a run of four crucial games against bottom six teams that theyll need to pick some points up from. Newcastle face Stoke away then Everton followed by the top three which should give us an indication of just how far theyve come this year. They currently sit on 4th behind Chelsea on goal difference and 1pt behind Man United. Newcastle 1-0

    Liverpool v Norwich

Bellamy had a rare start for Liverpool, while Carroll painted a familiar picture on the bench. Glen Johnson also came back in at right-back. De Laet and Holt were on the bench for Norwich. Bellamy thanked Dalglish for starting him by scoring the opener in first -half stoppage time from an Enrique pass while Holt came off the bench to score from a Pilkington cross. Liverpool had numerous chances to win this game hitting the post three times while Carroll missed an absolute sitter. Their failure to finish their chances is costing them points while Norwich under the tactically astute Paul Lambert continue to pick up unexpected points. 1-1.

    Villa v West Brom

A game to forget for Villa. They got off to a decent start though as Agbonlahor took advantage of confusion in the Albion defence before being brought down in the box. Bent scored the penalty. More confusion was to come as the linesman flagged for an apparent kick by Aussie Chris Herd in the box. Nobody saw it, nobody appealed for a penalty, yet the linesman gave his version of events to the ref. Penalty and red card. To Villas relief, Chris Brunt made a mess of it and put the ball well wide. WBA did equalise right on half-time as Olsson headed in Brunts corner. WBA dominated with the extra man in the second half. Scharner scoring the winner. Impressive display from WBA who are now unbeaten in four. WBA 2-1.

    Fulham v Everton

Saha and Cahill started on the bench with Vellios starting. Drenthe scored a beauty after two minutes from a Rodwell pass, with Fulham sub Ruiz equalising with an exquisite chip, Dempsey assisting. Zamora rounded Tim Howard in the last minute before incredibly blasting the ball over the bar. Saha - who replaced Vellios after 50mins - went straight up the park after Zamoras miss to give the Toffeemen the lead. Rodwell completed the scoring right on full-time to fatten the scoreline in Evertons favour. First win in four for Everton who are in a tough run of games - Man United up next for them. Everton 3-1.

    Blackburn v Spurs

The performance was better by Blackburn but results remain the same. Theyre still sitting on a solitary win. Six wins from 30 now for Stewart Kean. Two more goals for VDV and thats five in four games now. Walker assisted for VDVs first. Bale, who was on fire this time last year, put in an excellent shift for Spurs with some explosive runs and dangerous balls into the area. The inevitable VDV - Defoe substitution didnt materialise until the 88th minute. Samba assisted for Formicas goal. 2-1 Spurs.

    Wolves v Swansea

Swansea dominated this game and although they let in two goals in the last six minutes, theyll be happy to pick up their first away point of the season. Graham with his third goal of the season and Allen put Swansea two up in the first half. Wolves fought back with Doyle scoring as well as assisting OHara. 2-2.

    Bolton v Sunderland

There were two late goals in this game also, with Sessegnon being the main man. He scored first then assisted Bendtner to give Sunderland a well deserved and much needed win. Klasnic was sub in this one with NGog starting.
