Yeah he took a couple marks/goals out of the game. But he's too small and too expensive! I've decided no. If I want a short-ass muture aged rookie, then i'll grab callinan for one half the price.

Question is; what do you think of the games tonight? anyone stand out?

Polec-kicked a goal and looked stable
Hurley-lots of action against a poor brisbane, but not much against the saints
Banfield-not a chance he'll make it into my team but had a great run from half back to kick a goal against the saints

Overall? no changes to my team after tonights three games

Me three, no changes to my lineup based on Friday night's action.

Checked Gamble's stats and he is only 184cm - I did think he looked like he was taller on the TV tonight though. (I say "only" because I am 184cm tall myself, and I have never considered myself to be tall.)

Gamble may be a tad expensive, but I think his size is his strength. It enables to also play small and produce more of those snap goals. As long as he leads up well like he did tonight he should play well throughout the season.

I don't think we can include or rule out anyone from these games. Brisbane were appalling and with no Roo, Kosi etc., Gamble basically become their most experienced leading forward.

Hurley's second game worried me a bit. While it is great to kick a few in a game you dominate, it is hardly the sign of a champion. I'm not saying Hurley isn't good, he's an absolute gun, but whether this will be his breakout year, i'm not sure. Playing primarily up forward would be a great start, but when Fletcher retires sometime in the next 50-100 years, who knows where he will play.

Polec is definitely in my side. I watched him play in the SANFL last year and he was one of the best players for Woodville-West Torrens. The big plus for Polec is that he will see he plenty of game time at Brisbane because they are a basket case.

    Lol: Basket Case

Problem with a small forward who can snap plenty of goals, is that they will also snap plenty of points, and that just wont score in SC

FSB Hibberd looked to have composure which was more impressive. Heppell looks to have a bit of spunk about him, just really active, reminds me of a left foot Dale Thomas before Malthouse sanded the edges off (and turned him into a near-champion)

Gamble if he gets the third tall I can see him being a very handy player for the Saints.

In terms of SC, maybe an average of 70, with guys like Milne, Schneider, Riewoldt and a tall (maybe Johnson) backing him up.

Can't see Kosi getting much game time up forward (or in the ruck now with McEvoy showing plenty) because at ground level he just doesn't give anything. No forward pressure, and therefore teams will expose him on the rebound.

Gamble would be far better slotting into that forward line than most, Lyon will give him chances, and certainly at the price, he could prove great value.

Not sure if he's better than Knights or Petrie, but I think he represents better consistency than either of these two.

On Polec, he's a midfielder and so will play there quite often. Looks talented, and flew the flag even though the game was gone.

Melksham was impressive for the Dons. Hard to pick a 2nd year player, but he has a big upside. Dons need to play more of Melksham/Heppell/Hibberd and less of McVeigh/Welsh/Dyson<insert any old but much loved Bomber midfield hack here>

On the strength of the last kick, Mark Williams could be good if he finds the right way to play his position at Essendon. He is a dead eye and should really be a good foil for Gumbelton and Hurley.

Agree with pretty much all that Lucas!

I think Gamble will be pretty good there. I liked him at Geelong but of course too hard to get a consistent start.

I think hes a 35-40 goal player this year if hes consistently getting a game. I like his lead up efforts too and he has good hands. Seems to be a reasonable shot at goal too.

Im considering Petrie at R2 and if so Gamble may get a run at F7.

Hibberd looked very poised indeed. I really like the good left footers that have the time and can use it so well.

Heppell seemed a little rushed but endeavour was good and I can see him being a real ball magnet. Disposal was a little poor a couple of times but hey..its only early and its his first hit out. I can let him off!!

Polec is a lock in that team i think. Looked to have it all covered.

Im really happy with the bombers. I think that Hirdy will get plenty more out of them than Knighter ever did. Were not a great side, dont get me wrong beut I really think we are a fair bit better than most would give us credit for. Just need to see some hardness and application to the task. (knights lost the whole lot of them and he was never getting them back)

I think heads will roll at the end of this year for those that dont cut it. Hirdy doesnt seem like hes going to tolerate mediocrity.

    Yeah second that, nice assessment.

ah, should we start sending you emails and should we call you Dr Supercoach? jkn

I can see a lot of people putting williams in for that last kick.. but you have to think of consistency when it comes to SC points, and that really is all he did all night.

Although in supercoach, they would have awarded him the bonus 50 or so points for tying the game wouldn't they.
