Hi Guys What ppls thoughts on Ryan Giffen according the AFL site he only walked laps this morning! http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-03-18... A lot of money sitting on the pine in the first round if hes a late withdrawal but I would pick up Langdons score(111) as he is my emergency in the mids! But because its the sunday game I'd liketo make an early call!

Injured premiums are always fools gold. Scores are generally lowered from injured players, as you can well imagine would happen. Griffen in the first place I'd say is a unique choice, and this will most definitely make him even more unique. If I were you, I'd trade him out, probably for Rockliff. Averaged high 120's for the end of last year, and looks to be nearing his peak. He is another POD, so it would be a like for like swap. Other than Rockliff, I reckon Watson could also be a good selection. Hopefully nothing else happens with the Essendon drug saga.

(IMO) if you have both langdon and griffin in your team, i would keep griffin even though he may miss round 1.

langdon comes on as the emegency and you have your 111.

in round 2, when griffin gets named (assuming) you slide langdon back on bench. if for whatever reason griffin misses round 2, i would be confident to let langdon take his spot on the field and if he plays the way he did round 1, you should get 80+ points.

griffin is a ball magnet. he will get you your 100+ every week. very good point of difference also.

good luck with your team and the choice you make

Thanks for your responses fellas, difficult to judge a back injury isn't it! Hoping its no weeks but worse case is that they don't fly him this week to Perth and get him cherry ripe for round 2 while I take Langdons 111. I guess I would love for him to train flat out before jumping on the plane. But I think i'll go with craftys advice. Still have to adjust to having 30 trades instead of 20/24 of previous years.
