OK, I want to know some more inside info about some of these young kids at Essendon. Given that we have several Bombers supporters who are regulars around here, surely there is information that can be shared?

I'm looking at cheapies from Essendon to potentially take a spot in my starting team. But I want to know more about them, as I know only a little at the moment.

    Alex Browne, 18, DEF, $103k.
Did OK at Oakleigh last year, but didn't set the world on fire in the U18 Champs, using the ball more by hand than foot. A hard running defender perhaps at Essendon? Suggested that he will debut in 2011.

    Darcy Daniher, 21, DEF/FWD, $110k.
Injured almost all of 2010, failed to do much in a handful of VFL games that he did play. But with a new coach, could be given his (final?) chance to prove he can make the grade at AFL level? Certainly holds promise, but yet to deliver anything of substance.

    Michael Hibberd, 21, DEF/MID, $103k.
Rebounding defender, the sort that can score large in SC. Durable for Frankston in the VFL last year, could come straight into the side if he can prove himself in the NAB cup. DP is a nice bonus.

    Dyson Heppell, 18, DEF/MID, $153k.
Starting price is high, due to tie in the Morrish medal or T10 draft pick? I'm not sure exactly, but his name has certainly been around fantasy football all summer as a likely rookie type. His trouble might be that James Hird gives chances to other older midfield players at the start of 2011 and waits with Heppell until mid-year or so. Also, his starting price is a bit unattractive, compared to Hibberd and many others.

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed the delisting of Marigliani at end of 2010.

on Heppell and all bombers youngsters. As long as their bodies are right, I think Hird will play them as much as he can. He'll be putting games into the team that's gonna be there in 4-5 years.

My brother in-law actually works at the EFC in an administrative capacity and he reckons that Heppell is going to be a star and the other one to look out for is Jake Melksham.

there's talk of Zaharakis playing more of a midfield role. this kid has some dash and uses it well - just a shame he's at a troubling price.

I read that article on Zaharakis, however I still would rather pick him in a couple years time than this year.

Rhyder and Heppell are probably the only two that I'm considering from the Bombers this year in Supercoach, baring a pleasant surprise from any other rookies in the NAB which could warrant inclusion.

Anyone have any news on how the sharpshooter is traveling?
