    good evening all,

the second last edition of TOTR! To Score an impressive 3227 you needed this combo:

    Puoplo - HAW - 151
    Garland - MEL - 149
    Goddard - STK - 135
    Lower - FRE - 121
    Shaw - SYD - 117
    Frawley - MEL - 117
    Birchall - HAW - 115 *

    Masten - WCE - 364 (c)
    Rockliff - BRI - 179
    Pendlebury - COL - 154
    Rischitelli - GCS - 134
    Swallow - KAN - 134
    Montagna - STK - 133

    Mumford - SYD - 170
    Leuenberger - BRI - 126

    Gray - PTA - 168
    Riewoldt - STK - 163
    Monfries - ESS - 131
    Franklin - HAW - 118
    Cloke - COL - 116
    Krakouer - COL - 116
    Hurley - ESS - 116

bench of $91,700 no-namers with $290,200 in the bank...

    * feel free to substitute Birchall for Brent Guerra from Hawthorn... they both scored 115. (I picked Birchall 'cos his hair is real).

    Last week's TOTR dropped 1141 from 3181 to 2040.

    repeat appearances:
    8 - Pendlebury
7 - Goddard (2nd consecutive), Swallow (2nd consecutive) and Franklin
    6 - Mumford (2nd consecutive) and Cloke (2nd consecutive)
    5 - Birchall

My team had 5 members make the TOTR (Goddard, Lower (on the bench!), Riewoldt, Franklin and Krakouer. The weekly winner of the $1000 (stallions - 2709) had 7 players in the list (yet scored 637 more than me!)

Some disappointing (although interesting) observations from this round...
    - My team copped a donut with Mitchell pulling out and so I ended up losing all 4 preliminary finals and didn't make a single Grand Final...
    - My 12yo son's team WON all 4 of his prelim's and is now in 4 GF's
    - one of my losses was to my arch enemy (and older, uglier brother) Heavy Men
    - if you take all the player's names and teams from this week's TOTR and jumble them all up and then take every 19th letter you get the following:
    jyqpwzzjasondunstallisalegendzzyqpnzzmmmmilovebananaszzeiurc

Well folks, good luck with your team if you're in any SC grand finals and good luck if you're playing real finals football!

    take care,

    The Silverback

Nice one again Silverback. 8 for me = 2538 and 2/2 prelim wins. Sounds like we might have to recruit the young fella into the Vic Country league for next year.

Thanks very much Silverback. Have read the article every week with great interest and based a few of my trade 'INs' on the data too. Thanks for putting it together every week!

@ Kel re Vic Country League
This is how these Wang Rovers work. "He's only a 12YO" and then BANG - they take over everything.
50-odd years ago they bought Bobbie Rose's son a little Xmas gift.
Not long after, Bobbie left the Pies and turned these Rovers from a basket-case to a world super-power.
    Be very careful!!
And yeah, I'm keeping a close eye!!!!!

    @Whips

your comment about Rovers and Pies has me intrigued! What's your link there? Me? Well, I'm with Moyhu in the O&K league... week off this week for both our seniors and reserves. :)

Given there's a coupla ex-Wang Rovers in the league, please accept my application as an ex-Wang Magpie - one of the great rivalries in country (or any) football.

Please note, Wang born and bred but I'm now a metro lad. Still part of the Westside Tavern (Wang) SC league though.
But if more legit country folk decide to join, they can have my spot.

Really, I just want to upset those Rovers b*stards.

PS: Happy Birthday to one of them.

    @Silverback
The quote above comes from the TS Vic Country league thread a coupla weeks ago and I received a 'nice' reply from HeavyMen.
I played for Wang in 81-82. My younger brother played for Greta thru the 80's and my older bro for Nth Wang in the 70's.
Just a bit of Rovers v Wang Maggies rivalry. What's a TS Vic Country League without it?
Glad you replied and thanks for your TOTR efforts thru the season.
