so, this week's perfect team scored 3104: Rivers - MEL - 146 Adcock - BRI - 143 Gibson - HAW - 133 Everitt - SYD - 125 Fisher - STK - 118 Mattner - SYD - 114 Shaw - COL - 109 Rockliff - BRI - 326 (C) Bartel - GEE - 159 Thompson - ADE - 152 Hodge - HAW - 149 Kelly - GEE - 147 Moloney - MEL - 145 Jamar - MEL - 133 Ottens - GEE - 129 Franklin - HAW - 147 Fyfe - FRE - 139 Goodes - SYD - 133 Higgins - WBD - 122 Brennan - GCS - 114 Yarran - CAR - 111 Hall - WBD - 110 Bench full of $91,700 rookies with $39,500 cash left over. Apologies to Goddard and N. Riewoldt who could have made the team but leaving them out saved me $326k for the loss of only 5 points (and would have blown the salary cap anyway). Round 2 team of 3196 dropped a massive 1152 points to only 2044 this week. (I reckon that shows you can't chase last week's points). Only three repeat appearances from R2 team: Fisher, Goodes and Yarran. Also of interest (I thought anyway) this week's perfect team comprises the following break up: $500k+ - 2 players $400k-$499k - 9 players $300k-$399k - 11 players so much for not selecting mid-pricers! take care.
Great work Silverback - very interesting to note the performances of mid-pricers!!! How did the R1 team go this week? Is there anyone from all 3 teams?
Nice work Siverback, I'm hoping it swings back to GnR next week (for my sake) but I guess we'd need 10 or so rookies scoring big hundreds, to see that sort of team win the weekly perfect SC team.
@Bearfly haven't calculated R1 team's score for this week... If I keep that up I'd be assessing 24 teams by the end of the year! however, price break up: Round 1 $600k+ - 1 player $500-$599k - 3 players $400k-$499k - 11 players $300k-$399k - 4 players under $200k - 3 players Round 2 $500k+ - 2 players $400k-$499k - 12 players $300k-$399k - 7 players $200k-$299k - 1 player No players have made all three teams...
i was reading the team thinking that we should actually be working this out based on the sallary cap! haha. and then realised you did! can stack a heap of midpricers in when only selecting a couple of premiums, hey! No-one would have been game to select this team at the start of the year though... @Silverback, this is a great concept you have been doing! this is probably the last week that you can do it properly though, although you can obviously keep doing it based on the starting salary cap, but not allowing for people making money and upgrading. Will still be really interesting. good on you for doing it.
Hey Anthak, it's actually not too hard to do... Basically I scroll through the completed games and put down (in excel) any Def, Ruc and Fwd that score 100+. Then go through and grab any mids that are 130+. Sort the players by highest score in each position and then put in their prices... Usually after a tweak or two it comes in under budget. About 10 minutes to do, including the type up and post to the forum... Thinking if I get in after the final game but before the lock out is lifted (and new prices assigned) then it shouldn't be too tricky. So, Round 4's perfect team will be based on each player's price leading in to R4. The strong representation of $300-$499k players has got me considering a new strategy for next year though! (although we'll see how it pans out over the year). I'm really keen to see if 3300 can be cracked! I reckon it can... I'm sitting on 6654 so far.
Silverbank by salary is over 10mil atm that's why it would be hard to work out the Ultimate teams in the next few weeks, although great stuff and enjoy the read
@ Fez, It's over 10mil now 'cos the players have all been re-valued. BUT, this team COULD have been selected BEFORE lockout for round 3 meaning that the 3104 is achievable... Is 2808 still considered the best score ever?
loving these articles Silverback! I think it will be enjoyable reading how each week, the best teams should be beatable by a simple $10 mil team that could be entered just that week. maybe. Anyways, if you're interested in getting a weekly series up on the main blog, drop me an email or PM and we can work something out.
