The eagerly anticipated Part 2 of this season's 2nd club-by-club review is here and focuses on Geelong, Gold Coast, GWS, Hawthorn, Melbourne and North Melbourne. All in interesting positions on the ladder and in their development stages. It will be a while until they all fire at the same time.

Short, sharp introduction over. Now let's get stuck in!

[span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]Geelong (13 wins 2 loss)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Jimmy Bartel (avg 107.53)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Dawson Simpson (avg 90.50)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: Tom Hawkins (avg 71.57)

Arguably the best team of the last 6 years, Geelong has continued it's mostly good form. It turns out, that devastating loss to the Brisbane Lions was a wake-up call for the mighty Cats. From a SC point of view, [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jimmy Bartel has been extremely consistent this season, playing all 15 games thus far, and dropping below the ton on just 4 occasions. He has an outstanding record against most of his upcoming opponents keeping his relevance to the remainder of the season. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Joel Selwood (avg 110.13) has been surprisingly inconsistent this season although his last month has been irresistible. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Stevie Johnson (avg 118.70) probably deserves to be the SuperStar for the Cats but he has missed 5 games this season and will miss another through suspension. That's not what we want. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Dawson Simpson has broken into the team and the behemoth has started off strongly; especially for a top-end rookie price. Twins [span style='font-weight: bold;]Mathew Stokes (avg 97.14) and [span style='font-weight: bold;]Allen Christensen (avg 88.14) have dropped off a little since the last review.

The big Tomahawk” [span style='font-weight: bold;]Tom Hawkins has not been able to replicate his 2012 form, this season. In his last 7 outings, he has averaged just 68.43. Only cracking the 100 mark twice for the season is very disappointing from a man who is capable of so much more. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Travis Varcoe (avg 48) has been injured for a large part of the season which hurt quite a few teams who took the risk on the mid-priced speed machine.

Big run home for the Cats who want to cement their top 2 spot. There is suggestion that Geelong will request a final at Simonds Stadium should they earn the right to host one, which provides extra incentive to not slip up. Expect the stars to continue their form.

<p style='line-height: 13pt;][span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]Gold Coast (5 wins 10 losses)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Gary Ablett (avg 135.29)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Tom Nicholls (avg 101.50)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: David Swallow (avg 74.60)

Well, for all the excitement to do with the Suns, they have won just 1 out of their past 7 games which was probably, to be expected. They have, however, shown some brilliant patches that suggest a 2014 finals campaign may not be out of the equation. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Gary Ablett is a star who should find himself in every team (not mine) and continues to score strongly. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Dion Prestia (avg 97.36) is a player that may well have cost Gary Ablett a brownlow medal this season. He has had at least 2 best on ground performances and polled in a few others, taking votes away from Gazza. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Trent McKenzie (avg 94.91) only needs 12 touches to score well with his devastating left boot while [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jaegar O'Meara (avg 90.53) continues to star in his first season. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Tom Nicholls has assumed the ruck role (surprisingly at first) and been fantastic. Some put him on their benches and he has repaid the faith rising $254k in value and he still has a low BE. Some are even the man with Fijian heritage over their premium rucks!

Former number 1 draft pick [span style='font-weight: bold;]David Swallow has been disappointing. Just less than 5 000 coaches to a risk with him however he has not been able to show his true ability. He constantly has his knees strapped suggesting he may be carrying an injury, and he has played off half-back which doesn't really suit his style of game. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Greg Broughton (avg 76.09) has missed a few games and not scored well enough for a player who was a defensive staple for his first 3 seasons.

The good news for the Suns is that they have some winnable matches to end the season and should set themselves a target of 7-8 wins. They have suffered from injuries to their Key Forwards so will welcome the returns of [span style='font-weight: bold;]Nathan Bock /span>and [span style='font-weight: bold;]Charlie Dixon (avg 96.71).If you are looking for a playing, underpriced bench option in Forward or Defence, Bock may be your man.

<p style='line-height: 13pt;][span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]GWS Giants (0 wins 15 losses)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Adam Treloar (avg 89.71)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Lachie Whitfield (avg 72.36)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: Tom Scully (avg 70.33)

They are the embarrassment of the competition and of SuperCoach as well. The Giants have most certainly taken a step backwards and some serious thinking of the future of the club. Kevin Sheedy has changed the team drastically every week and has thrown some players out of position. But here, we are focussed on SuperCoach. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Adam Treloar has been a shining light with consistent performances in recent times. In fact, he has an average of 99.67 in his past 6 matches showing how good he is. There is no doubt in my mind, that he is a future SC gun. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Callan Ward (avg 93.20) has averaged the most points per game of any Giant and he tries his hardest, but often finds himself having a tagger to contend with or two opponents which overwhelms the young co-captain. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Lachie Whitfield has enjoyed a solid debut season. His last fortnight has been excellent with strong performances in both matches.

[span style='font-weight: bold;]Tom Scully. He has been okay this season with his variety of roles however that hasn't translated to any SC glory. I feel he has taken a step in the right direction though which is a good sign. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jonathan Giles (avg 75.20) is a player who I never want to talk about in any SuperCoach conversation ever again. After having him and subsequently trading him out some 6 weeks ago, his form has improved ever so slightly, however this past round undid all his hard” work. After an explosive start to his career, [span style='font-weight: bold;]Toby Greene (avg 71.33) has found himself out of the Giants team through poor form. He should get back in and I firmly believe it's simply a case of second year blues”, however he has been disappointing.

The Giants have one last chance to pick up a win this season in the coming weeks against Melbourne. They need to have their best team playing and give it their all. No SC relevance here.

<p style='line-height: 13pt;][span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]Hawthorn (13 wins 2 loss)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Jarryd Roughead (avg 103.20)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Jack Gunston (avg 87.08)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: Lance Franklin (avg 90.79)

Sitting pretty up the top of the ladder, the Hawks are going along nicely. Sure, they've never beaten Geelong in their history, but it hasn't affected them too much this season. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jarryd Roughead has been on fire and has averaged 109.57 SC points in his last 7 matches. He is the leader of the Coleman medal and has moved all around the ground to great effect. It makes people regret trading him our after Round 3. Ahem. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Sam Mitchell (avg 104.33) has been quite good albeit inconsistent. 51 on the weekend isn't good at all. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Luke Hodge (avg 96.57) has been solid with good showings in almost every match. I hope you took my advice on [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jordan Lewis (avg 94). He was on fire for a month after the last review before slowing ever so slightly, then getting back to form last week. Let's hope he continues. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jack Gunston is a star who enjoys playing without Buddy in the team. His accuracy means more SC points with a high conversion rate.

[span style='font-weight: bold;]Lance Franklin has clearly been sidetracked with other things on his mind. James O'Connor and Kurtley Beale have been released by the Melbourne Rebels. They are leaving and quite possibly moving interstate. They are two of Buddy's best mates. Can we put two and two together here? Maybe. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Brad Sewell (avg 76.45) has dropped off his output drastically this season; so much so that he was dropped against Port Adelaide.

The Hawks are a well-oiled machine that will keep on keeping on. They are good all round which leads to an equitable distribution of SC points amongst players. No one player will be outstanding.

<p style='line-height: 13pt;][span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]Melbourne (2 win 13 losses)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Nathan Jones (avg 91.67)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Colin Garland (avg 86.07)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: Aaron Davey (avg 48.23)

The Demons are looking much better than earlier in the season and this is shown by spirited showings in different matches. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Nathan Jones is a very good player and really goes in hard and tough. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Colin Garland has averaged 95.14 in his last 7 games out of defence and has really shown some dash. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Dean Terlich (avg 77) was the number 1 defender between Rounds 11-14 before falling back to earth with a thud. 27 points only. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Colin Sylvia (avg 84.67) looks a better player under Neil Craig under now wants to stay at Melbourne.

[span style='font-weight: bold;]Aaron Davey had a couple of outstanding weeks, but his average really speaks for itself. Sure, he has encountered the occasional vest, but it's a really bad average for someone of his ability. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Jack Watts (avg 71.35) has averaged 84.5 since Neil Craig took over showing his increased confidence. If he can continue to lift, he will turn into a good SC player.

The Demons can still win a game or two and possibly finish 16th which looked unlikely 4 weeks ago. I wouldn't be looking at bringing any Demons players in. And, Dean Terlich's time may be over in SC teams. He is set to lose plenty of cash.

<p style='line-height: 13pt;][span style='font-size: 13pt; font-weight: bold;]North Melbourne (6 wins 9 losses)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]SuperCoach SuperStar: Todd Goldstein (avg 111.73)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Bolter: Brent Harvey (avg 104.78)
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Disappointment: Leigh Adams (avg 75)

How do we describe the Kangaroos? They played the perfect game against Richmond, then fell back into their old ways with a fade away loss against Brisbane. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Todd Goldstein has been possibly the best ruckman in the AFL and his SC points have accurately represented this. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Andrew Swallow (avg 104.80) has been up and down this season and will probably like to forget half of his performances. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Drew Petrie (avg 100) has been as good as ever, winding back the clock with good consistency. But the surprise packet has been [span style='font-weight: bold;]Brent Harvey. The 74 year-old came back from a 6 week suspension and has averaged close to 105. I would never have anticipated such a performance this season.
[span style='font-weight: bold;]Leigh Adams and Shaun Atley (avg 72.33) are two players who have the ability to be really strong contributors to the North Melbourne side, however they haven't performed as well as expected. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Lindsay Thomas (avg 73.77) is a solid goal scorer, however he only gets 7-10 touches a game translating to low SC points. [span style='font-weight: bold;]Ben Jacobs has only made two appearances. This means he will be great value next year should he not make an appearance in the next month or two,

I think North Melbourne will finish 8th. They should fight hard and eliminate their choking tendencies in the next 6 matches and take a few scalps. They aren't spoken about due to their fade-outs but I believe they'll do what they need to do to get there. This means the likes of [span style='font-weight: bold;]Daniel Wells (avg 93.60) and Jack Ziebell (avg 93.42) will need to lift.

Two parts down and one to go. Hopefully you have found some of these interesting and insightful on each team covered so far. If you have anything to say about anything I have said, feel free to comment below. Would love some feedback from each clubs supporters.

Alright guys, no review for Thursday but the last one will be ready on Friday.
Cheers,
