Well, if Sandilands returns this week, this page, though maybe giving a few hints has also given a few pieces of dangerous advice!

The mea culpa of the past few weeks - the advice to trade Sandilands may just prove flawed (it was always a line ball thing), the Bartel trade from last week is a shocker, and never go the captains that I select, because Im clearly pushing the envelope rather than going for the tried, true thanks for the 130 in the bank option.

I didnt go Bartel in the end, through good luck rather than good management, and it worked out. He could so easily have smoked a 140 and things would be different for lots of the top 100 teams.  But he didnt.   Sandilands could return, but I still think he will miss this one, then play a restricted, maybe subbed role next week, and be full capacity in Round 17 (against Mumford).  I have no evidence on this.

So everything in Best Buys needs to be taken with a grain of salt.   The good news is, in general, if you put a trade option to the community, they will get it right.  And so the value of this discussion board remains.

Over the break, I have a few short thoughts, but mainly just the Best Buys and AAs.

    <!--more-->

The thought for the week is bye management.   If you need to trade someone in, think about if they have already had their bye.   Because if they havent, you might be throwing away 50-60 points.   Over the course of 10 games, its now become a significant 6 points per game.  So yeah, think about waiting or getting the good options as they come available.  You might not get the gilt edged champ, but yours can be running to the finish line.  Always your call, but if the champ misses an extra, you are really up the creek (ala Bartel).

Best Buys- and Im really looking at premiums here:
D:  Suckling and Enright are still solid options.  Robert Murphy is there for those who like a FD swinger.   Adcock is very cheap but his injury situation clouds the issue.   Just a thought for those who want to trade him now, if he gets back fit, hes a precious commodity.
M:  Cant go past Swan here, but Bartel when he returns could be a ripper M7 to cover Gibbs/Judd/Watson.  He could end up sitting in 370 territory.  But dont get him yet!   Boyd at 500 is a solid option, though his disposal efficiency has been poor recently.   Tends to be a real up-down swing this year rather than a very strong solid 110ppg.   If you have the money, Ablett and Pendlebury are silk.
R: Griffin has done a great job filling in for Sandilands.  Two more weeks and he would be the ultimate cash cow trade.  I think hell get two in the team, but one at half rat power (interchanged).   For those who love a risk and a great footy story, think about Kreuzer.   He had the ooze before Breust.
F: Sylvia is under 400 nom nom (but shares a bye with Pavlich/Fyfe).   Cloke and Le Cras have had a good run recently, and are important players in finals teams.   Cloke has the bye out the way.

    Downgrade targets

Whoops they all went last week!   Well there are still some forwards worth considering.   Most are thinking Callinan, but I reckon Dahlhaus has been great value for the Doggies and comes in at 99k.   Fasolo has talent to burn but little job security unfortunately.   Any other position and you missed the boat.   Hail Mary.

    All Australian Team (Season)

A week off or two can do you good.  Swan is back in the top mids!  And I will be generous to Kreuzer and put him in despite the lack of matches.   Also Roughead with his injury might well scale up into the team haha!

D: Fisher, Deledio, Scotland, Goddard, Shaw, Newman, Gibbs (Enright, Suckling, Birchall/Adcock)
M:  Pendlebury, Ablett, Murphy, Boyd, Swan, Priddis (Swallow, Wells, Thompson)
    R: Cox, Sandilands (Goldstein, Kreuzer)
F:  Franklin, Pavlich, Johnson, OKeefe, Harvey, Fyfe, Rioli (Roughead, Sylvia, Goodes)

All Australian Team (Last 3 Matches)

D: Fisher, Johncock, Hurn, S Martin, Gibbs, Carazzo, Deledio (Goddard, Birchall, R Murphy)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swallow, Thomas, Wells, M Murphy (Houli, D Martin, Mitchell)
    R: McEvoy, Cox (Sandilands, Goldstein)
F: OKeefe, Le Cras, Harvey, Cloke, Davis, Giansiracusa, Petrie (Johnson, Rioli, Pavlich/Podsiadly)

    Until next week, happy trading!
