<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Time constrained this week, so a very short review for you all to muse over.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]King of Karlos Defeated by Billy Bass (114 v 121)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]King of Karlos - Despite strong performances by Brees, Manning, Bell, KoK were not quite good enough to knock over Billy Bass. Williams did a nice job as Shady's replacement in Buffalo, and Tucker proved to be clutch in the Ravens win over Pittsburgh. Little input from the KoK wide receivers and tight end at the heart of this loss - Landry struggling gin a struggling team, Cooks still not living up to potential, and Olsen not Cams favourite target this week.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Billy Bass - A brilliant team effort from Billy Bass. Rodgers, Palmer, Forsett, Woodhead, Hopkins, Catanzaro and the Packers D/ST all scored a minimum of 13 points! Green was a TD away from another big day in Cincy, whilst Hilton was well targeted by Hasselback in Indy's lucky win over the Jags. Only the Fins Cameron failed to muster much of a contribution, but when the rest of your team is scoring so well, who needs him eh??
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Waito's Warriors Defeat Jimbo's Juggernaut (72 v 67)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Waito's Warriors - The Warriors notched an important win over their NFC rivals on the back of Jimbo not playing a D/ST essentially, but a win's a win, and the win brings the Warriors level with the Juggernaut after the first month. Winston was shaky but still topped double figures, whilst Bennett was massively targeted by Cutler in the Bears win over the Raiders. Hauschka was superb in kicking the Seahawks to w win over the Lions, and DT was fantastic as Peytons main threat in Denver. Leaving McCowns 22 points on the pine perhaps regrettable
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Jimbo's Juggernaut - For whatever reason, not starting a D/ST has cost Jimbo this win which could prove very costly later this season…. Luck being a late withdrawal the other key factor in this loss, but injuries affect everyone, not starting a D/ST….Cousins was sound if not spectacular, whilst Charles produced a superb game for KC. Cooper looked terrific once again for Oakland - the more that boy gets the ball, the greater Oaklands chances. Having Hoyer and his 17 staring at Jimbo from the bench probably stings a little I guessing too?
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Yo Yo Marshawn Defeat Rigil Kentaurus (88 v 75)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Yo Yo Marshawn - Despite fielding a Marshawn-less squad and a Dolphins D/ST who continue to defy pre-season predictions much to the teams coaching staff displeasure! But a good performance by Bortles, Forte at his consistent best, the Muscle Hamster in return to 2013-form and the newly acquired Vinatieri were able to cobble a score good enough to get the win over Rigil. With Lynch continuing to be hampered by hamstring injuries, having Lewis and Johnson Jr as bench cover is a terrific luxury for this squad, whilst young receivers Robinson, Matthews and Brown are doing a decent enough job in Jeffery's continued absence. QB1 and a productive D/ST top of the ‘needing attention NOW' list.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Rigil Kentaurus - Outside of a tremendous performance from Rivers and Spiller going big in OT, this was an altogether forgettable match for Rigil. Stafford continues to struggle, Murray looks nothing like last years rushing king, McFadden is no replacement for Murray in Dallas, Tate propsers when Stafford does, so… The Bills D/ST, much like the Dolphins, are simply not performing at a level they are capable of, father time looks to be catching up with Old Man Witten, and of course, it goes without saying playing someone who doesn't suit up doesn't add much to the bottom line. Tough loss for Rigil, Marshawn were gettable but with so many injuries, they just couldn't get the scores required for the knockout punch.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Brady's Bunch Defeated by Canuck Warriors (83 v 117)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Brady's Bunch - The frustration of the timing of NFL games for us in Australia was acutely felt by Brady's Bunch, who started Clausen, whilst Chicago had other ideas and started Cutler. With all his points on the bench, the fact he actually played ok is probably of little consolation for the Bunch. They were however well served by rookie RB Gurley, who looked frighteningly good for the Rams, Ivory and Stills in the UK, and the Frenchman was super tough for Washington in their win over Philly. The culprits in this loss - the Cardinals D/ST were overshadowed by that man Gurley (and Foles it must be said), and Colston couldn't get much yardage out of his 4 catches.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Canuck Warriors - The Warriors finally notched a win this season, with Bradford and Freeman scoring heavily, and were well supported by Ingram and Allen, whilst Gould held his nerve in the Bears win. With some sterling efforts from the Warriors bench players, this win offered not just a win but a good deal of hope going forward. Bridgewater will likely replace Mallett, Foster will return to form soon enough, and Maclin, Jackson and Jennings all seriously put their hand up for some action soon. More wins to come me thinks from this squad.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Team Stowie Defeated by Team Simonoz (77 vs 99)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Team Stowie - The only undefeated side in the competition came crashing back to earth. With The Gronk and Mariota on a bye week, and Hillman favoured over Anderson in Denver (unfortunately, this wasn't the case for Stowie), Team Stowie just couldn't mount a strong enough game to topple Team Simonoz. Newton was excellent again, Taylor continues to prove himself the bargain of the draft, The Crow put in a solid all round game in San Diego, and the Panthers D/ST was terrific against Winston and his Bucs. But, not enough out of the WRs and RBs cost Team Stowie an undefeated season.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Team Simonoz - Even with Kap looking terrible, again, Smith, Hill, Yeldon, Williams and Denver kicker McManus were all good (or exceptional in the case of Hill who scored 3 TDs despite only rushing for 40 yards). A good win with star second-year WRs Evans and OBJ contributing little, and the Bronco's D/ST not quite the high scoring machine they have been so far this year, and with Weeden looking half decent for Dallas, will Kap make way for the old fella?
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Let's go Buccos!!! Defeated by The Jug-O-Naughts (70 v 86)
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]Let's go Buccos!!! - Inconsistency was at the heart of this loss for the Buccos. Wilson, Carr, Gio and Marshall were all solid, but other than Bernard, lacked the TDs that top of a good day at the office. With Julio kept quite in Atlanta's dominant win over the Texans, Reed having the ball stripped by the Philly D, and the Bengals D/ST and Oakland's Reece hardly helping the cause, this was a disappointing loss without doubt and with former star TE Graham benched in favour of the injury-plagued Reed, the Buccos are now 1-3 and staring at a long season.
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]
<p class='western' style='margin-bottom: 0cm;]The Jug-O-Naughts - Even without legendary QB Brady, the O-Naughts had enough in the tank to get a pretty comprehensive victory. Led once again by Matty Ice, who has returned to form after a less than brilliant 2014, the O-Naughts got great service from Foles, who stood strong against the Cardinals D, All Day and Wallace against the super tough Denver D, and Clay in the Bills loss to the Giants. Even with the freak that is JJ Watt, the Texans D/ST were poor and the O-Naughts maybe considering streaming a new D/ST soon enough, whilst Johnson continued to struggle in Indy's offence. But I am sure the O-Naughts will be very pleased to have grabbed a win without their champ at QB1.
