Judd returns to his "rightful" spot at the top of the leaderboard at the conclusion of round 15.  Both he and the perma-captain - the pair that have gone 1-2 over the last two years - were the main movers this week, both very influential in their teams wi...ah, games.  Which leads me to the following statement: Ablett is the biggest mystery surrounding this years count.

He will cleary get most votes for his team.  THAT - you can put the house on.  And quote me.  But how close will he go to winning?  His form since his monster game in round 8 has been terrific, but how many 3s can he pull when he is constantly playing in a losing side?  He has a history of polling 3s, but he also has a history of being in a winning team...

What about precedence?  You have to go way back to 1936 when Denis Ryan won playing at Fitzroy, polling 26 votes from a total of 18 games that included just a measly 2 wins!  Its hard to find the similarities though - Den played at Centre Half Back that year, and there were only 12 teams running around then.  And there was never any chance of a carbon tax...

What may tip it in the little masters favour, is if there is a low count - which its shaping up to be.  Judd and Boyd lead my count at 18, whereas in the last two years the leader has been on 22 at this stage, and finished with 30.  Cooney however had 19, and finished with 24 back when he won in 08.

If it stays under 25....who knows.
