First things first, an update on the NBA - well there isnt heaps to tell as usual, as the people involved still arent giving much away; although there was a mammoth meeting today with a mediator that lasted 16 hours! Nothing has been resolved and they adjourned the meeting until the next morning, which is actually due to kick off right about now (midnight melbs time). So it looks like something will come of this meeting, but who knows what... lets hope that they sort it out and dont cancel any more of the season.
Later on, over the break, Ill update whats happening with our fantasy NBA leagues, and what we need to do to set them up more.
In the NBL, round 2 saw the first of the H2H matches. Our league did not fare as well this week, with only Sainter and Parasite beating their round 1 scores. Parasite moved up to second on the Points For ladder and is in the top 100 overall, while our highest scorer - Under Achievers - is sitting in 13th spot overall with a heap of players playing two games this week. Our league slipped to 12th overall, and I reckon I can take a bit of the blame for that after scoring the lowest score this week! I only managed 132 which was about 40 points lower than the next closest. I made two trades last week - both failing bigtime. Traded out Abercrombie when I should have trade Wilkinson. and traded in Kazzough who did not live up to his value in the slightest with a spuddy 14 (as captain too).
My highest scorer was Patty Mills, and I must say that it was fantastic to go and see him play last Friday! Met TS member Jet there, in person for the first time. Was good to meet you mate - had a ball! One gripe though... was the courtside announcer. He was a shocker. Totally biased and disrespectful to the tigers, especially towards Mills - I personally thought it was a disgrace. What do you all think about that stuff?

The settings are all set up the same as last season - except that we now have an IR spot on the roster. Once we know how much of the season is cancelled, I will work out the schedules to suit. But one thing we do need to work out now is the scoring...
We had a heap of discussion a few weeks back about the scoring. There were a few proposals made, some with support of others and some with not much support. I took all the advice into consideration and played around with the scoring heaps - if you want to see some results of that, <a href="http://tooserious.net/possibly-wishful-thinking-fantasy-nba/comment-page-1#comment-110551" target="_blank">have a look over here[/url], but basically, i worked out that the fairest scoring system would probably be this:

The only changes from last season are the following: missed 3pointer went from -1 last season to zero now; assist from 3 to 2; TO from -3 to -2; steal from 4 to 5; DD from 6 to 4; TD from 11 to 10; and QD are currently at 50, but we can decide what they should be, we had them score 20 last season but one never happened.
Under this scoring system, going by last seasons stats, in the top 36 players there were 15 c/pf’s; 14 sg/sf’s; & 10 pg’s. Whereas last seasons scoring system had 17 c/pf’s; 10 sg/sf’s; & 11 pg’s in the top 36. But importantly, in the top 10, the new system has one less PG than last seasons; but 5 of the top 10 are still PGs.
