TS FANTASY NBA - Round 15 review

It is down to the business end of the season where owners are either looking forward to the finals or have started planning for next year.

    Premier League (by Steve)

There is only one finals spot still in doubt in the Premier League. The equation is simple for Walesy, if he wins this round against Karlos he is in the finals. However if he loses, the following comes into play:

    <ul style='list-style-type: disc;]
<li style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]If Steve wins this week and Walesy loses, Steve still needs to outscore Walesy by 693 pts this round as they will both have a record of 8-8, however the person with the best total points for will go through to the finals. At the start of this round, Walesy's total points for was 693 pts higher than Steve's. After day 2, this total points margin has been reduced to 548 so Steve is well on his way to reducing this deficit, hahaha. </li>

Onto the reviews for round 15.

    Jasmine's Mob (2-12) 1371 defeated Feel the Love (7-8) 1176

Jasmine delivered a crushing blow to the final's chances of Feel the Love this round and win was thoroughly deserved. She was due for a change of luck as not much has gone right for her this season. Games played were 39 all. The surprise packet Randy Foye led the way with (172/4), followed by Gibson (160/4) and Hickson (151/4). This match will haunt Feel the Love for a very long time as they had their chances but were let down by some of their bigger names. Only 3 players broke the 100 pt mark this round - Love (129/2), Dragic (183/3) and Calathes (139/4).

    King of Karlos (13-2) 1876 defeated Ruddy's Cavaliers (6-9) 1266

The final's dream for Ruddy ended this week with the loss to Karlos. Once again Karlos was far too strong for their opposition. Games played were 44-38 in favour of Karlos. Durant was the best again with (275/4), next best were Lillard (180/4), and Oladipo (177/4). For Ruddy, the leading scorer was Wall (214/4), followed by Al Jeff (137/2) and Ellis (131/4).

    Run TMC (6-9) 1842 defeated Too Seriouseses (8-7) 1511

Run TMC scored a good win over Walesy this week but it was a case of too little too late with their final's chances ending the week before. Games played were 45-44 in favour of Walesy. Chucker Jennings was the best for Run TMC with (267/4), next best were Drummond (223/4) and J Smoove (222/4). This week Uncle Drew paced Walesy with (214/4), followed by West (161/4) and George (159/4).

    Wade Machine (10-5) 1711 defeated 2 Gasols 1 Brow (5-10) 1115

Wa1427de Machine are gearing up for the finals and it showed this week with a big win over 2 Gasols 1 Brow. Games played was 48-37 in favour of Wade Machine. They had 10 players break the 100 pt mark this round and Jordan (223/4) was the best followed by Dirk (176/4) and Curry (173/3). The 2 Gasols 1 Brow will now be looking to the consolation finals and hoping to avoid relegation. Their best players this round were Brow (216/4), The Truth (129/4) and Davis (125/4).

    The Jug O Naughts (9-6) 1698 defeated Anthak (6-9) 1427

The Jug O Naughts sealed their final spot win with a win over Anthak while the finals dream for Anthak ended at the same time. Games played were 47 all. Jamal Crawford (201/4) led the charge for Fez followed by LMA (186/4) and DeRozan (172/4). Ant will be looking forward to the consolation finals. His best this week were Melo (187/4), Nene (163/4) and RoLo (161/40)

    Heaver (9-6) 1455 defeated Westside Hardcore (9-6) 1314

In a possible finals preview, Heaver defeated Westside in a hard fought match. Games played were 46-40 in favour of Heaver. The PG combination of Lawson (172/4) and Blake (179/4) did most of the damage for Heaver along with Chandler (137/4). Westside's best players this week were Sullinger (167/3), Millsap (163/3) and Batum (139/4).

    Division One (by Stowie)

TRADE: L6 makes another big move, sending Durant (and his light finals schedule) to the Maggots for Steph Curry (and his heavy finals workload).

Team Stowie (9-6) 1538 def by Crossy Crusaders (5-10) 1566

In a matchup that was close the whole week, Crossy did enough on the second last day to hold out Stowie. Dre (223 / 4) won the battle of the young big men against The Brow (216 / 4) and will be important in keeping Crossy in Div 1 next season. Melo (187 / 4) and Lillard (180 / 4) also had big weeks for Crossy while Ibaka (187 / 4) was solid for Stowie.

    Mookie Blaylock Athletic Club (12-3) 1667 def Laino's Nuggets (5-10) 1481

MBAC has wrapped up the #1 seed and despite some lineup tinkering during the matchup, still had the highest score in Div 1. Blake (285 / 4) continued his amazing run without CP3 in the lineup and Wall (234 / 4) continued his super solid season. Laino's gave it a good go, but are still playing a man down without Holiday and Westbrook, who will need to come back and save them from relegation. This left the scoring to Wes Johnson (170 / 4) and Dirk (176 / 4).

    Fudge Fudge (5-10) 1523 def by Cyril33s Crushers (6-9) 1635

The Crushers continued a strong end to the season with Jamal Crawford (201 / 4), Millsap (164 / 3) and TD (160 / 3) leading them to a second straight win and the second highest score of the week. Fudge were led by LMA (186 / 4), LBJ (175 / 3) and a returning Steve Blake (179 / 4).

    Adelaide Maggots (11-4) 1502 def by Liquid's Sixers (7-8) 1614

L6 might just be the hottest team running around at the moment after a very slow start. The now departed KD (275 / 4) led them to a big win, against a Maggots team on an eleven game win streak, that will see them play finals. Dragic (183 / 3) was huge and Randy Foye (172 / 4) has stepped up without Nate hanging round in Denver. Not all bad for the Maggots, they've locked up a first round bye and have several solid performers led by Smoooove (222 / 4) and IT2 (181 / 4).

    CK Nicks (10-5) 1579 def Broady Broncos (6-9) 1246

The Broncos continued their slump at the wrong end of the season, losing a fifth straight matchup. CK were led by first and second round picks Kyrie (214 / 4) and DMC (215 / 4) with new recruit D12 (140 / 2) providing good points in limited games. Ariza (162 / 4) led for the Brocos while Rudy G (101 / 3) struggled.

The Raptors (9-6) 1346 def by Travys Boys (5-10) 1395

Travys picked up win number five on the year taking care of a Raptors side that is hoping for injured players to return in the playoffs after adding Kobe from the Waiver Wire to Bledsoe and Kawhi. Jennings (267 / 4) was the destroyer for the Boys with a returning Marc Gasol (120 / 4) beginning to pick it up. Leading for The Raptors was DeAndre (223/ 4) who has provided fantastic value for a ninth round pick.

    Week 16 Matchups

Mookie Blaylock Athletic Club (12-3) at Team Stowie (9-6)

Crossy Crusaders (5-10) at Fudge Fudge (5-10)

    Laino's Nuggets (5-10) at Cyril33s Crushers (6-9)

CK Nicks (10-5) at Adelaide Maggots (11-4)

    Liquid's Sixers (7-8) at The Raptors (9-6)

Broady Broncos (6-9) at Travys Boys (5-10)

    Division Three (by headmandude)

    Wafty Boxes 1444 (10-5) d San Diego Anchormen 1299 (6-9)

Wafty sewed up top 4 finish and kept the top 2 dream alive with a solid win of the Anchormen. Dragic 183/3, LBJ 175/3 provided the big efforts for the Boxes whereas Josh Smith 222/4 was pretty much the lone ranger for the news crew.

    Rusty Buckets 1604 (8-7) d Let's Go Lillard 1498 (6-9)

Rusty kept their finals flame alight with a tough win over LGL. Drummond 223/4, Irving 214/4 and Jared Sullinger 167/3 did the damage for the Buckets. Rip City Aldridge 186/4 and Lillard 180/4 just couldn't provide enough to get Team Lillard over the line.

    Nettin Blatche 1651 (11-4) d Team ThreePEAT 1542 (8-7)

Nettin Blatch and ThreePEAT fought out a really tough battle this week with TheePEAT taking the spoils. Blake Griffin was a monster with 285/4 with Oladipo 177/4, Nowitzki 176/4 and Curry 173/3 providing the extra firepower for Nettin Blatche. DeAndre Jordan 223/4, Jamal Crawford 201/4 and DeRozan 172/3 were the best of the losers.

    Dirty Hawes 1506 (11-4) d Run T-Mull-C 1086 (2-13)

Dirty Hawes steadied the ship with a convincing victory over TMC. Slim Reaper 275/4Zeke Thomas 181/4, Minta Ellis 161/4 and Rubio 151/4 top scored for the victors whereas 138/4 from Deron Williams was the most resistance offered by TMC.

    Team Minis 1642 (8-7) d Team ElBonz 1195 (11-4)

Team Minis scored the upset of the round over Elbonz. As a result Minis are still in the finals race and Elbonz is no longer outright top. Brandon Jennings 267/4, Ibaka 187/4, Melo 187/4 and Ty Lawson 172/4 were the top Minis. ElBonz struggled for scorers with Boogie 168/4 and Millsap 164/3 the best on offer.

    Big Shot Bob 1481 (5-10) d Shep's Superstars 1356 (4-11)

This game is a bit of a dead rubber however BSB were just too good enough to knock over the Superstars. Tony Davis 216/4, Duncan 160/4, Gibson 160/4 and P George 159/4 top scored for BSB despite John Wall's 234/4 Robinson Crusoe effort

    Final Round Preview:
Last round spread over 2 weeks for the All Star break. Wafty Boxes can snaffle a top 2 spot by beating ElBonz and if either Dirty Hawes or Nettin Blatche slip up. Rusty Buckets, Team Minis and Team ThreePEAT are fighting it out for 5th and 6th spot so their games are life and death.

    Key match ups:
Wafty Boxes v Team ElBonz - If Boxes win they can steal a top 2 spot. Conversely ElBonz need to win to take a top 2 spot
Team ThreePEAT v Rusty Buckets - Buckets must win for a chance at top 6.
Let's Go Lillard v Dirty Hawes - Hawes must win for a top 2 spot
Nettin Blatche v Run T-Mull-C - Blatche must win for a top 2 spot
