This was a long matchup, which included the All Star break and 10 days of NBA games within it. We therefore saw some huge scores, with 2 teams scoring greater than 2500! Fez scored 2634 in Division 1, but he was pipped by smokinjoemisiti in Div2 with 2676. The lowest score this week went to Walesy in Premier Division with just 1577 - more than 1000 points less than the best... but of course, Walesy can be excused with all the great work thats been happening around the site, so Im gonna throw in the next highest/lowest - Underachievers with 1680 in Division 1. The highest scoring loser this week was the previously undefeated bgt2110 in Division 1 with a whopping score of 2281, which only 8 teams scored better than. There werent actually many close games this round, with the closest margin being 58 points in Premier Division between myself - ant hak - and Owen.

    Over the break will be the usual reviews by myself, Steve and smokinjoemisiti:::::::::

    PREMIER DIVISION (by anthak):

    <a title="Run TMC (Owen Beebe)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=19&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Run TMC (Owen) v <a title="ant hak (Anthony Hack)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=1&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">ant hak (anthak) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=1&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">2061-2119

    As mentioned above, this was the closest game across the 3 leagues this week. and even though my team was more affected by injuries, I still ended up with 4 more games played over the fortnight, and in such a close game, I think this played a part this time round. Owen did not make a single player swap throughout the matchup - using the same 13 players all the way through; whereas I used all 5 of my acquisitions and 17 players all up. It was such a close game all through the fortnight and meant a lot for both sides. The result puts both teams on the same record now, and Owen definitely has the tougher run home from here. Top scorer for the game was Blake Griffin (243 from 6) for anthak, and best for Owen was PGasol (241 from 6).

    <a title="Ruddys Cavaliers (Peter Rudd)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=20&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Ruddys Cavaliers (Ruddy) v <a title="Too Seriouseses (Les Wales)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=2&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Too Seriouseses (walesy) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=20&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">1986-1577

    Also a game mentioned above the break, as Walesy managed the lowest score of the round across all 3 leagues - which led to a comfortable win for Ruddy, where he won 8 of the 10 days along the way. Unfortunately, this loss for Walesy also removed the mathematical chance of making the playoffs that he once had, and he is the first one to lose that hypothetical chance. This low score also relegated Walesy to the bottom of the points for table for the first time too, as he was overtaken by maggots. I am still the only one to have lost to the TooSeriouseses this season, and that doesnt look like changing anytime soon. These are all just stats though, and taken in context they are completely understandable of course - with the constant improvements being made to this site, and the awesome AFL articles being written by the coach of late. Top scorer in this particular game was Wade (276 from 5) for Ruddy, and the best for Walesy was Love (226 from 5).

    &nbsp;

    <a title="Adelaide Maggotz (Cameron Sears)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=21&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Adelaide Maggotz (maggots) v <a title="Jasmines Mob (Jasmine Johnson)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=5&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Jasmines Mob (Jasmine) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=21&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">1935-2256

    As I just mentioned, this score from maggots moved him up off the bottom of the points for ladder, although it wasnt enough for the win against the might of Jasmines Mob. Jasmine has her team purring along quite nicely and sits in clear 3rd in the rankings - which is actually as high as she can finish now, as HEAVER has sewn up top spot in the division already. There is still a small chance Jasmine could miss the playoffs, but I doubt that will eventuate... and an even smaller chance is that of maggots making the playoffs as he would need to win both by quite big margins and rely on a lot of other results to go his way. Jasmine had this game under control all the way through, and had the top scorer of the game in CP3 (324 from 6). Top scorer for maggots was Nowitzki (266 from 6).

    &nbsp;

    <a title="Kings of Karlos (Sean Minetti, Leigh Walles)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=10&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Kings of Karlos (karlos &amp; Lethal) v <a title="Westside Hardcore (Michael Walters)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=6&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Westside Hardcore (Mick) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=10&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">2331-1930

    Karlos is back in the winners column after their only 2 losses of the season came in the 2 games immediately preceding this one, and this win has all but sewn up top seed in the Too conference and the first round playoff bye - Ruddy still could upset that, but is highly unlikely to do so. Whereas Mickas inconsistency has continued, but is still no further away from a playoff spot than he was last week, as others with similar records failed as well. Both teams in this one had a really high scorer with Lebron James the best (385 from 5) for Mick, but Durant was not far behind (373 from 6) for Karlos.

    &nbsp;

    <a title="Wade Machine (Daniel Laengst)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=15&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Wade Machine (dabombers) v <a title="Robert Sarvers Handbag (Chris Riches, Steve Smith)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=7&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Robert Sarvers Handbag (chris88 &amp; smittys07) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=15&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">1983-2353

    Despite being 2nd on the points for ladder, RSH have not had many comfortable wins; in fact, prior to this week, there was probably just 1; however this would certainly add to that. This game also made it 3 losses in a row for dabombers and he will need a minor miracle to occur if he is to back up his chip winning feats of yesteryear. While on last year, the match between these two last season was quite remarkable as it was a mini final before the finals. We had a top 8 last year, and the top 7 spots were set in stone with 1 round to play. The last spot was going to go to one of these two teams and they played each other in that final round - with the winner going through. I cant remember how the match panned out, but dabombers obviously won it - and the rest is history. Back to this season though - the top scorer for this game was Dwight Howard (350 from 6) for dabombers, while the best for RSH was DWill (294 from 5).

    <a title="Fudges Sixers (Jim Tsilikas)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=16&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Fudges Sixers (fudge) v <a title="Team HEAVER! (Dave Tong)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=13&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Team HEAVER! (HEAVER) <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=16&amp;scoringPeriodId=71&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">2055-2410

    This win officially clinched the division title for HEAVER and he remains unbeaten through the first 9 games of the season. He also, once again, scored the highest score in the league and is looking quite unstoppable - especially as Gallinari has just played his first game back from injury so he can be brought off the IR. Fudge on the other hand, is still in a race to make the finals sitting on 4 wins - along with 3 others all ranked from 6th to 9th where fudge himself sits. This loss actually broke his own winning streak of 4 games, after he started the season with 4 straight losses. The top scorer in this game was Bynum (320 from 6) for fudge, and the best for HEAVER was Rose (306 from 6).

    DIVISION 1 (by Steve):

    Linsanity 17 (Steve)   2274   v   The Bucks Fizz (Spm67)   2142

    Linsanity 17 have now made it 3 wins in a row and pulled off somewhat of an upset this week by defeating Bucks Fizz.   Bucks Fizz led this matchup after day one but from then on Linsanity 17 took control and was never headed for the rest of round.  The leading scorers for Linsanity 17 were Westbrook 286, Thornton 223 and Ilyasova 222.  The best players for Bucks Fizz were Dirk 266, Anderson 250 and Marc Gasol 233.  Both teams now have records of 5-4 and Linsanity 17 is now a game clear in the chase for top spot in the Serious conference.

    Doobia Dominators (Doobs)   2091   v   Everton 149érs (Rev)   1869

    Doobs finally got a win after losing 7 matches in a row by defeating the 149érs.  This game was very close until the last 2 days of the matchup whereby Doobs was able to outscore the 149érs by 160.  Durant was a beast for Doobs this matchup and he scored 373, followed by Irving 211 and Kaman 203.  KG was the best for 149er’s with 255, Wall on 238 was next followed by Timmy Duncan on 182.   As a result of this match, the 149érs have sunk to the bottom of the ladder but will be hoping to get some wins before the end of the season.

    Crossy Crusaders (Crossy)   2374   v   NahlavLittleDee (Rodgo)   1731

    The Crusaders were able to post a very comfortable win against NahlavLittleDee.  Both teams had 3 players who scored 200 pts this round but the Crusaders also had 9 players who scored over 100 points compared to only 5 players who scored over 100 points for NahlavLittleDee.  The Crusaders are now sitting at 6-4 and most likely need to win only more game to be guaranteed a finals spot.  The best players for the Crusaders were Griffin 243, Rose 236 and Parker 220.  The best players for NahlavLittleDee were Wade 239, Pau Gasol 241 and Noah 224.

    Team Stowie (Stowie)   2462   v   Albert Park Rangers (bgt2110)   2281

    Team Stowie’s finals aspirations were on the line with this matchup whereby they had to win to stay in contention and they were able to knock off one of the unbeaten teams in Division One.  Team Stowie hit the lead in day 3 of this matchup and were never behind from that day.  A huge last day by D Will topped things off nicely for Stowie when he scored 108 points.   The Rangers were missing Curry for most of the matchup which did not help.  The best players for Team Stowie were Howard 350, D Will 294 and Iggy 231.  The best players for the Rangers were Lee 279, Pierce 252 and Monroe 244.

    The Jug-O-Naughts (Fez)   2644   v   Get Knicked  (Liquid Sixx)   1994

    One thing is for sure, Fez got his team name completely right at the start of the season as the Jug-O-Naughts have been smashing all opponents.  At the moment, it looks like everyone is playing for second place unless something dramatic happens over the next month or so.  Get Knicked pretty much conceded this match from day one of the matchup and was getting his team ready for the last 2 rounds where he needs to win to make the finals.  The leading scorers for Fez this week were the King 385, Bynum 320 and J Smoove 272.  The best players for Get Knicked were CP3 324, Gay 205 and Millsap 185.   Get Knicked will most likely need to win his last 2 games to have a chance of making the finals.

    CK Nicks (Costak)   1819   v   Canuck Steelers (UA)   1680

    This was another match which had huge implications for the finals.  The CK Nicks had to win this match to have any chance of making the finals and they were able to get the win.   Both teams were missing key players during the matchup, CK Nicks were missing Nene while the Steelers had to do without Bosh and Young for a number of games.  Both teams now have a record of 4-5 and will need to get some wins in the last 2 rounds to make the finals.  The best players for CK Nicks this round were Kobe 261, Terry 196 and Holiday 188.  The leading scorers for the Steelers were Lowry 228, K Love 226 and Jamal Crawford 188.

    DIVISION 2 (by smokinjoemisiti):

    Smokinjoe Misiti (smokinjoemisiti) – 2676 defeated Dropping Bombs (brettmarinovich) – 2085

    Smokin was the top scorer for the division and got the comfortable win here with the help  of Dwight Howard’s 350 points. Each one of Smokin’s players scored over 100, with 6 players scoring 229 or more. Brett once again had Kevin Durant top score with 373 points, but he did have Mayo, Blair, Lee and Fields all score below 100.

    &nbsp;

    Team 726 (minis) – 2022 defeated Six Ten Two Forty (twoeyec) – 1747

    Minis had a 200 point lead after the first days play of this matchup and ended up winning by roughly that same margin. Top scorer for him was Kyle Lowry who managed 228, whilst Kevin love (226) and Tony Parker (220) were also good. Jeremy Lin finally cooled off a bit having a couple of subpar fantasy scores. Twoeyec’s top scorer was Deron Williams with 294. D-Will pulled through with a 108 fantasy point game against the Bobcats on the back of his league season high 57 point performance.

    &nbsp;

    Broady Broncos (nicksnow) – 2121 defeated Team Ring Ticklers (joellamerton) – 1849

    Nick got 276 from Dwyane Wade whilst Nene and Gallinari missed the entire matchups games for him. Joel’s top scorer was Paul Pierce who had 252 points whilst his team as a whole had only 8 players score 100 or more, compared to Nicks’s 11. Steph Curry’s injuries are once again a concern as he has missed more games of late.

    &nbsp;

    Hawthorn OKC Magic (Cobra_Magic) – 2325 defeated Team Farken White (Jet) – 1953

    Cobra had big performances from Lebron James who scored 385 and Andrew Bynum who had 320 points. Jet got Carmelo back but he was only average, scoring 143. His top scorers were Blake Griffin (243) and Marcin Gortat (239). Chris Bosh is the concern for Jet having missed the last couple of games.

    &nbsp;

    Team Travysboys (travyboy11) – 2260 defeated The Hinrich Manoeuvre (Don_Cottagers) – 1897

    Trav’s top scorer was Dirk Nowitzki with 266, despite the German posting just 2 fantasy points in a game against Memphis. Ryan Anderson continued his good form that has made him one of the pickups of the year and one of the most improved players in the league. Don had 286 from Russell Westbrook and 234 from Al Jefferson.

    &nbsp;

    Maxwells Marvels (maxweas) – 2066 defeated Cryril 33s Crushers (hawker) – 1831

    Max got 306 points from Derrick Rose whilst Brook Lopez returned for New Jersey, playing his first games of the season and scored 124. The terrible news now though is that Lopez looks to have been injured again in his latest game. Hawker got 324 from Chris Paul and 272 from Josh Smith but had little other support.
