We had an awesome first round of playoffs this week and now we are down to 4 teams in each league. We had two games (out of 6) decided by less than 5 points and both winners were the teams that finished the regular season lower on the ladder out of the two sides. A week ago, there was a bit of discussion whether the 5 point headstart for the team with better reg season record was enough or not - most arguing the later. If the headstart was larger, the two losers may well have won, so its something to consider for next season. Last season we ran a couple of votes to decide how much the headstart should be and 5 points was what was voted in by the 20 league members.

I am going to exclude the teams that had the bye from the following records as it would take too long for me to add up their scores for the week. The highest score came from a team that didnt make the finals - well done to Cobra_Magic, of division 2, for your score of 1728, which was the only score above 1700 for the week. The highest scoring loser was joellamerton, also of Div 2, with a score of 1601, which would have won all other finals bar 1. The lowest score out of all finalists was nicksnow, again from Div 2, with 1072 - maybe he forgot that we had playoffs, or there was match fixing going on  It was actually a lower score than all teams that didnt make the finals as well. As mentioned above, there were 2 extremely close games this week... In Div 1, LiQuiD_SiXx pipped bgt2110 by just 4 points; however that was trumped in the Premier League where Owen beat chris88 and smittys07 by the smallest of margins - just 1 point! I dont think we have had a margin of just 1 point all season - full on for it to happen in the playoffs. And a big thank you to the teams involved for giving <a href="http://tooserious.net/ts-fantasy-nba-playoffs-are-here#comments" target="_blank">updates throughout the day today as well. I loved reading them as I was not able to watch the fantasy cast today.

In the fight for relegation, or moreso the fight to save from relegation: Walesy is now guaranteed to drop out of Premier League; Rev and costak are both guaranteed to drop down to Division 2... while all of Rodgo, Doobs and dabombers have put themselves just 2 wins away from avoiding the drop.

Head over the break for details of each of last weeks games and the semi final schedules:::::::::::::

    PREMIER LEAGUE (by anthak):

    <a title="Run TMC (Owen Beebe)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=19&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Run TMC (owen) v <a title="Robert Sarvers Handbag (Chris Riches, Steve Smith)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=7&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Robert Sarvers Handbag (chris88 &amp; smittys07) - <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=19&amp;scoringPeriodId=92&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">1510-1509

What an unbelievably close finish! Chris was keeping us updated today of the points difference. From this point onwards it was especially interesting - "We’re still somehow up 34 points with 4 minutes of Richard Jefferson vs 3 quarters of Pau Gasol"... from then on, it was just a countdown as the lead dwindled away, but it obviously was close right to the death. Both teams had close to their full lineup available for the whole week which was good, and both had a player each drop out on the last day, but despite RSH using all 5 acquisitions and Owen not any, Owen still finished up with 1 more game played over the course of the week. Best scorers for Owen were Granger (182 from 4), Cousins (177 from 3!!) and Pau Gasol (170 from 4); while for RSH, best were AlJeff (194 from 4), Ibaka (183 from 4) and JJack (153 from 3). What a match, and it is a cliche, but unfortunately only one can go on, and that is Owen who has booked a clash against the pace setter all season in HEAVER - so its last season regular season champ against this seasons... looking forward to that! :)

    <a title="Westside Hardcore (Michael Walters)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=6&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Westside Hardcore (mick) v <a title="Jasmines Mob (Jasmine Johnson)" href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/clubhouse?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=5&amp;seasonId=2012" target="_top">Jasmines Mob (jasmine) - <a href="http://games.espn.go.com/fba/boxscorequick?leagueId=23530&amp;teamId=6&amp;scoringPeriodId=92&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=matchup&amp;version=quick">1512-1646

Jasmine is definitely the form team in Premier League at the moment scoring the highest score this week and extending her unbeaten run to 6 games - the longest current winning streak in the league. I thought Mick was gonna put up more of a fight as his team had just started ticking as well with the recent addition of Z-Bo off the IR helping a lot; however it would have been hard to top J this week anyway. Well, Mick actually won 4 of the 7 individual days; however Jasmine scored big on more occasions which was obviously enough for a comfortable victory. Both teams used all 5 acquisitions and it ended with mick having 1 more game played over the week. Top scorers for Jasmine were CP3 (189 from 4), Rondo (183 from 4) and Teague (152 from 5); while the best for Mick were Hayward (192 from 4), Felton (152 from 4) and LeBron (147 from 3). 5 of this years top 6 were our top 5 last season as well - until the playoffs hit, and this year 4 of those 5 teams are into the semis. Jasmine, Mick and the other 3 were the benchmarks for most of last season, and they are all proving that it wasnt a flash in the pan.

    DIVISION 1 (by stowie):

The Bucks Fizz (spm67) v Crossy’s Crusaders (Crossy)

DRose takes the week off; no problem for CC. This matchup saw each side alternate daily wins until the last day when Crossy flipped the script and came home strong to win by almost 200 fpts. David Lee (209) led the scoring for Crossy with LMA (164) and Blake (140) doing their bits. For Bucks, Dirk (200), Humphries (153) and Nash (146) led the way. CCs win sets up the much anticipated rematch with the currently undfeated Fez. Keep an eye out in the comments during this matchup as Crossy promises to keep up the trash talk and possibly put Fez off his game.

Albert Park Rangers (bgt2110) v Get Knicked (Liquid_Sixx)

Wow! What a super close matchup that came down to the last player on the last day. L6 needed all of Rudy Gays 41 to squeek passed bgt in somewhat of an upset by just 3 points. L6 only just won his way into the playoffs last week, whereas bgt had been assured a position for weeks. Both teams had inactive players in Gallo and Steph Curry leaving the scoring to be controlled by CP3 (189), Jordan Crawford (160) and Harden (145) for L6 and Al Jefferson (199), Gordon Hayward (157) and Jeff Teague (152) for bgt. Interestingly, JC and Hayward were recent additions to their respective teams. L6 will now resume hostilities with Steve who he defeated in the last round of the season. Can Steve get revenge or will the L6 train be pulling into Grand Final station...

    DIVISION 2 (by smokinjoemisiti):

    In the ‘Winners Bracket’

SmokinJoe Misit – 1516 defeated Broady Broncos (nicksnow) – 1072

SmokinJoe outscored Nick on every day except one, running away a convincing winner. Kevin Martin once again sat out the entire matchup but it didn’t matter. David Lee top scored for Smokin with 204 whilst Elton Brand had an above average week with 184. Nick had issues with Gallinari, Ray Allen and Nene whilst his top scorer was Dwyane Wade with 152.

    &nbsp;

Team Farken White (Jet) – 1665 defeated Team Ring Ticklers (joellamerton) – 1601

A great matchup here with the lead changing a few times during the week. The crucial last day of play saw Raymond Felton pull out his best score for a long time with 64 fantasy points. This was clearly one of the deciding factors. Goran Dragic was also another surprise packet for Jet as he top scored with 174. For Joel, Wes Matthews rediscovered some form like Felton and scored 172.
