LEAGUE 2 (REVIEW BY KARLOS)

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=1&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Kings of Karlos @ Mount Gambier MONTSTARS

The undefeated Kings of Karlos crossed the border for a clash with the MONTSTARS who had 3 Dallas starters out with the Bye.  Things started well for the MONTSTARS with Smith stepping in at the QB and having a huge game for 28.  Marshall had 20 in Chicago’s big win and the Raven’s D, Rice and the kicker Vinatieri all contributed 11+.  A competitive scored was already on the board but donuts from Tate (3 weeks in a row), the stand in TE Watson and a -2 from Williams meant it wouldn’t be enough.  KOK was once again led by the Bears D with a massive 28, Mathews returned to form with 19, Brady with 18, Morris 13 and Green 12 which ably covered 1 point each from Johnson and the Lawfirm.  KOK would have too much in this game and win 105-86 to stay undefeated.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=2&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Team Walles @ Wantirna Dum Dum’s

Team Walles who dropped their first game last week took on the high scoring (every other week) Wantirna Dum Dum’s.  Only 6 players on the field would score in double figures in this game which went right to the wire Monday night.  The Dum Dum’s were led by 23 from Cruz, 18 from the rookie Richardson and 10 from the Texans D.  No other player was in dub figs with the biggest disappointments being a 3 from a concussed RG3 and 2 from 2rnd pick Gronkowksi.  Team Walles got a match winning 31 from Colston in Sunday night football, 18 from the ageless TE Gonzalez and 16 from Gore.  Even with a trio of 1’s from Finley, the Chargers D and the kicker Crosby Team Walles would still get the win 84-78 largely due to the RG3 injury.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=5&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Albuquerque AZTECS @ Bron’s Allstars

The Albuquerque AZTECS had a chance to get a break on Bron’s Allstars with a win.  Things started promisingly for the AZTECS with Eli scoring 20, 17 from the flex Crabtree in the 49ers big win, 13 from McCoy, 12 from Turner and 10 from Floyd.  Unfortunately White couldn’t back up last weeks 28 scoring just 6 but would be the best of the rest for the AZTECS who left Meachems 18 on the bench.  The Allstars got a huge 28 from Brees, 22 from Harvin, 16 from a rejuvenated Welker, 13 from the TE Daniels and 11 from the kicker Gould.  A donut from the Packers D and 3 from the injured Williams wouldn’t stop the Allstars who stars shone brighter in this game.  The Allstars even their record with the AZTECS with a 108-87 win.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=6&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">AllGuts NoGorey @ Team Short

AllGuts NoGorey officially lose preseason favouritism with a big loss to Team Short who’s stars returned to form.  Team Short was led by a 200 yard 2 TD game from Wayne,  24 from Rodgers who is now back in form, 19 from a surprising Ridley, 15 from Jones and 14 from the solid Seahawks D.  No other stars for Short but things could have been more impressive with 16 sitting on the bench that could have been used at the flex.  Either way it would be too much for NoGorey who didn’t quite get selection right but which wouldn’t have helped enough anyway.  They got a huge 26 from the returning Bradshaw, 17 from Ryan (Luck on the pine with 28), 11 from the Vikings D and 10 from Davis.  2 donuts on the field from Simpson and Hankerson really hurt with 20 left on the bench in the form of Mendenhall and Bess.  Team Short would win this 117-85.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=3&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Team Mayhem @ Team Greer

Team Mayhem would look to get aherad of the ledger with a win against the ever consistent Team Greer.  This was not to be the week for Mayhem with only 2 scores in double figures making it just about impossible against Team Greer who scored their 4th score in the 90’s in 5 weeks.  Mayhem got 18 from Rivers and 11 from the 49ers D with Akers the kicker with 9 doing much else with 6’s and 7’s littering the card and even a donut from Johnson.  6’s and 7’s won’t get the job done against Greer who got 2 great contributions up front with a 23 from Peyton, 22 from Foster and a pair of 12’s from the kicker Tyne and Bush.  A pair of 9’s from Peterson and the Bengals D and nothing below 3 meant Greer would show his consistency once more and be rewarded with the win.  Team Greer take this easy 97-63.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=4&amp;scoringPeriodId=5&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Team Coleman @ Clovelly Kookaburras

Team Coleman came into this looking to win 3 in a row whilst the Clovelly Kookaburras were looking to get a streak going.  This would be an ugly affair with only 5 double figure score across the 2 teams with no single player scoring more than 16.  Not surprisingly it would be the team with more double figure players to get the win.  The Kookaburras 16 from Thomas and a pair of 12’s from Vick and Forte with the next best being 9 from Kerley and nothing to speak of on the bench with 5 out with the bye.  Coleman missed an opportunity here with only Charles and the kicker Walsh getting to double figures with 16 and 13 respectively.  6 scores of 6 or below equalled a loss for Coleman who with appropriate selection could have squeaked out a win here.  The Kookaburras win 70-62.

LEAGUE 1 (REVIEW BY STOWIE)

TooSerious TooSeriousesses (walesy) 94 at Massillon Tigers (Johnson) 70
The Seriousssesss keep rolled the Tigers this week thanks to RB combo Mathews (19fpts) / Ridley (19fpts). This matchup saw two very disappointing QB performances with Newton (7fpts) for the Tigers just pipping Flacco (6fpts). Painfully for the Tigers, Luck (28fpts) was tucked away on the bench.
Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) 113 at Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) 71
The Maggotz have broken the seal in big way with four players hitting double figures and three of those breaking the 20 point barrier. Most impressive were the Bears D/ST (28fpts), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (26fpts) and QB Aaron Rodgers (24fpts). For UAs QB Rivers (19fpts) and RB McCoy (13fpts) led the way.
Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) 74 at Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) 82
TDs was in the box seat and looking at a second straight win until Arian Foster (22fpts) did his thing in MNF. Fez also had WR Marshall (20fpts) and two QBs on his bench Peyton (23fpts) / Alex Smith (29fpts) break the 20 point barrier. TDs rookie RB Richardson (18fpts) again led the way but RGIII (3fpts) took a pretty big hit and will miss Week 6.
Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) 95 at Team Wiggles (Wiggles) 107
... and the mighty have fallen! Jimbo has suffered his first defeat thanks to a herculean effort from WR Marques Colston (31fpts). He was well supported by TE Gonzalez (18fpts) and WR Thomas (16fpts). Jimbo, who will surely bounce back next week, was lead by WR Percy Harvin (22fpts) who keeps finding ways to get touchdowns.
Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) 99 at Team Stowie (stowie) 66
bgt sewed this one up pretty early thanks to the record breaker Drew Brees (29fpts) with support from WR Cruz (23fpts) and RB Reggie Bush (12fpts). Stowie was (again!) let down by 1st round pick CJ0K (0fpts) leaving to much for Eli (20fpts) and RB pair Turner (12fpts) and Forte (12fpts),the only players hitting double figures, to make up.
WEEK 6 SCHEDULE
Team Wiggles (3-2) at Adelaide Maggotz (1-4)

Massillon Tigers (1-4) at Team Stowie (2-3)

Under Achievers (3-2) at Vicks Dog Fighters (3-2)

Show Me Ya TDs (1-4) at Lilydale Leather Heads (4-1)

TooSerious TooSeriousesses (3-2) at Jimbos Juggernaut (4-1)

KEEPER LEAGUE (REVIEW BY BGT2110)

Canuck Warriors (101) def Canton Bullldogs (99)

Canuck entered the bullldogs kennel and came away with a gutsy 2 point victory against the previous unbeaten bullldogs. In a very even competition it was a lost opportunity for the bullldogs to take a lead of 2 games on the majority of teams. For Canuck they can thank match winner Foster(22) for the come from behind win whilst Eli Manning(20) and Ridley(19) provided great support. The bullldogs used big brother Peyton Manning(23) and the bears d/st(28) to get within 2 points but with 4 players having the bye and Hicks sitting because of a knee injury it was always going to be tough against an accomplished Canuck outfit. All fans of the NFL will join with Canuck in hoping RG3 can avoid any more concussions and learn to know when to slide rather than risk any more injuries. Both teams have a strong 4-1 record and share equal top billing with Billy Bass.

Waito’s Warriors (128) def The Jug-O-Naughts(92)

It all clicked for the warriors this week and they are deserving Aikman medallists and joint Jerry Rice Trophy winners this week. What more can you say, a medal and a trophy in the one week says a lot about a dominant display. All up the warriors had 7 players in double figures lead by Rivers(18), Richardson(18) and Crabtree(17). With Calvin Johnson and young gun RB Martin to come back from the bye someone is going to be unlucky to return to the bench. The Jugs received a bonus this week with Mendenhall(16) making a very promising return and he looks like being a very handy pick for the flex position but the Jugs need more than just Brady(18) and Ryan(17) to be their top scorers each week in order to separate themselves from the pack. Both teams now have a 3-2 record.

&nbsp;

Welcome back Mr Wallace(86) def Team Stowie(74)

If you had told me that Mr Wallace would enter the Stowie Stadium and come away victorious with 5 of their players combining for a miserable 3 points {Gabbert(-1), Spiller(2), Battle(1), Graham(0) and Green-Ellis(1) } i could have been knocked down with a feather but that is what happened. Wayne(27) was sensational and Marshall(20) were big reasons why Mr Wallace moves to a positive win/loss ratio. The crowd at Stowie Stadium started to get restless and were far from impressed with the contributions of Wallace(1)....not sure Stowie welcomed him back, but then again Gronk(3), Newton(7) and fumble fingers McGahee (8) all should improve next week. Harvin(22) and the steelers d/st(10) had good games and with a record of 3-2 it is not all bad for Team Stowie. Mr Wallace also improve to a 3-2 record and in a season which is proving to be a very close one it gives teams with a weaker record hope of catching up.

&nbsp;

Brady’s Bunch(119) def Candlestick 49’ers(111)

Again Candlestick had one of the highest scores of the week and again they lost which must be frustrating the 49’ers coach but he has nobody to point the finger at for the losses other than bad luck as his team is one of the most well balanced in terms of each player contributing. This is shown by 6 players all scoring in double figures. I know this won’t make the 49’ers feel any better after sinking to 1-4 but it will turn around shortly i’m sure. Brees(28), Welker (16) and Turner(12) couldn’t do anymore but Williams(-2) could have at least broken even. The Bunch were sensational this week, Alex Smith(28), Marcus Colston(31) and Gonzalez(18) are getting it done each week with Colston a worthy winner of the highest fantasy point return in week 5. On their day the Bunch can look mighty good. They now have a 2-3 record and well in contention for a finals berth.

&nbsp;

Billy Bass(113) def Rigil Kentaurus(91)

Billy were the home team and duly delivered with a 22 point win over Rigil who can see their season slipping away with yet another loss to a team who scored 110 points or more. This time is was the mighty Billy who now have a 4-1 record and consolidate their equal league leading position on the ladder. Billy welcomed back Bradshaw(26) who duly ran for 200 yards and a TD while Rodgers(24) and Green(12) continued on with their high scoring matches week after week. For Rigil it was Cutler(19) who returned to form and with Gore(16) and the two Jones boys (Julio and James) combining for 15 and 16 respectively it was an effort that showed a glimmer of hope for the Kentaurus team.

&nbsp;

Jimbo’s Juggernaut(111) def Team Simonoz(75)

Jimbo shares the Jerry Rice Trophy this week with Waito after a 36 point win over Simonoz. Andrew Luck(28) was brilliant and lived up to all the hype that comes with a number 1 draft pick. I didn’t give him much chance against the Rodgers led Packers but he got the colts over the line and will no doubt get many more wins for the colts and the juggernauts in future years. When Cruz(23), Charles(16) and McCoy(13) all fire then Jimbo will be very hard to beat. Simonoz finally got some decent output from Mathews(19) while surprise packet Ponder(17) and Vick(12) provided some valuable points. This matchup was one where injuries could prove very costly for both teams with Jimbo losing Amendola and Ryan Williams who join Hernandez on the sideline for an extended period while SImonoz were unlucky to lose Benson who now joins Locker in the medical room.
