LEAGUE 1 (REVIEW BY STOWIE)
WEEK 11 RESULTS
Team Wiggles (Wiggles) 48 def by Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) 75
Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) 76 def by TooSerious TooSeriousesses (walesy) 92
Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) 105 def Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) 81
Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) 80 def by Team Stowie (stowie) 92
Massillon Tigers (Johnson) 79 def Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) 66
With two weeks to go, four playoff spots available and all ten teams in with a chance, lets look at playoff implications as almost any team can sneak in!
Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) (8-3)
Currently sit a top the league and would take a crazy set of circumstances for them to miss the playoffs. One win against either Under Achievers (4-7) or Adelaide Maggotz (5-6) will secure their position.
Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) (7-4)
Sitting second at the moment with games against TooSeriousesses (4-7) and Show Me Ya TDs (6-5) to come. Again, one win should be enough here.
Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) (6-4-1)
A handy draw means one win against Adelaide Maggotz (5-6) or Massillon Tigers (4-7) will see them in the playoffs.
Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) (6-5)
Similar story here, one win should be enough with games against Team Stowie (5-5-1) and Vicks Dog Fighters (7-4) to come. The hottest team in the league riding a four game winning streak.
Team Stowie (stowie) (5-5-1)
Going to need some luck and realistically, two wins with games against Show Me Ya TDs (6-5) and TooSeriousesses (4-7). The draw might come in to play and help sneak Team Stowie in.
Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) (5-6), Team Wiggles (Wiggles) (5-6)
Again, two wins and some luck required. Maggotz get Lilydale Leather Heads (6-4-1) and Jimbos Juggernaut (8-3), while defending champs Team Wiggles need wins against Massillon Tigers (4-7) and Under Achievers (4-7) for a chance to defend their crown.
Massillon Tigers (Johnson) (4-7), TooSeriousesses (walesy) (4-7), Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) (4-7)
Three teams at 4-7 and still in with a chance. Massillon Tigers have matchups against Team Wiggles (5-6) and Lilydale Leather Heads (6-4-1), TooSeriousesses have Vicks Dog Fighters (7-4) and Team Stowie (5-5-1) while Under Achievers come up against Jimbos Juggernaut (8-3) and Team Wiggles (5-6).
All makes for an exciting finish. Good luck to all!
THE KEEPER LEAGUE (REVIEW BY bgt2110)
Welcome Back Mr. Wallace(101) def Canuck Warriors(86)
In the battle for the last playoff spot it was Mr. Wallace who gets bragging rights over his good friend at Canuck. It was a deserving win with a more even spread of scorers on the field led by Palmer(16), Green-Ellis(16),Matt Bryant(14) and Weeden(14). For Canuck they relied too heavily on RG3(32) who has had a sensational first season while Sanchez(11) despite a lot of criticism over the season had a good game and contributed much needed points. For Mr. Wallace it is hello playoffs while Canuck can look forward to next season.
Welcome back Mr. Wallace 7-3 and Canuck Warriors 6-5.
Candlestick 49’ers (137) def Waito’s Warriors(91)
Candlestick dominated against a Warriors outfit who I proclaimed as championship favourites last week. From “rooster to feather duster” immediately comes to mind but I am sure the Warriors will regroup in time for the playoffs next week while the 49’ers can head into next year with a fair degree of optimism after Schaub(37) had the game of his life after throwing for over 500 yards and 5 TD’s in an overtime win. Brees(20) is always good for a high score while the ravens d/st(18) and Lance Moore(17) helped the 49’ers to the highest score of the week. The Warriors didn’t lose much with Roethlisberger out when Leftwich(15) was one of the highest scorers along with Calvin Johnson(18) and Doug Martin(13). It was a missed opportunity for the warriors as they now miss out on having the bye in the first matchup of the playoffs and must meet a ruthless Jug-0- Naughts outfit.
Waito’s Warriors 7-4 and Candlestick 49’ers 3-8.
Billy Bass(114) def Jimbo’s Juggernauts(94)
Billy heads to next weeks playoffs after accounting for Jimbo in a close contest. Billy has had consistent output all season from the Bengals combination ofDalton(24) and AJ Green(15) and this week was no exception. With Rodgers(15) and Marcel Reece(19) having good games Billy has always been up near the top of the leaderboard and it will be a highly entertaining game next week against Mr. Wallace who has been on a winning streak lately winning his last 3 games. Jimbo’s season has no doubt been a frustrating one for him but any team which has Luck(13) is going to be right up there in the years ahead while Romo(15) one day may step up into the realms of elite rather than good.
Billy Bass 7-4 and Jimbo’s Juggernaut 3-8.
The Jug-0-Naughts(127) def Rigil Kentaurus(31)
Ha Ha Ha, that is me(Rigil) laughing instead of crying after the Jugs inflicted the biggest winning margin, not just of the round but the year with a 96 point hiding. The Jugs were just way too good with Andre Johnson(33), Brady(25) and the Patriots d/st(24) all having games which alone would have accounted for Rigil. Special mention also to Stephens-Howling(18) who had a great game and just rubbed salt into the wounds. It will be a fascinating matchup next week when the Jugs take on Waito, two teams who have stood out as elite all season. For Rigil we lick our wounds, look forward to next season and hope thatStaffordhas a better season, DeMarco Murray can get out on the park, young guns Julio Jones and Torrey Smith continue to improve and Cutler pulls his finger out.
The Jug-0-Naughts 7-4 and Rigil Kentaurus 3-8.
Team Stowie(107) def Brady’s Bunch(66)
Stowie had a convincing win which locks them into having the equal best record in the league and a much needed and earned bye in the first weeks of the playoffs. The win came at a heavy cost though with the Gronk(25) fracturing his arm and McGahee(6) doing his knee which is going to see them both on the sidelines for most, if not all of the playoffs. Putting that aside for the moment as well as Gronk it was Freeman(21), Newton(18) and Cobb(14) who stood out this week and proved too much for the Bunch who relied on the Falcons d/st(14), Jonathan Stewart(13) and Vereen(11). Will Stowie, be able to overcome the injuries to his team ? He can put his feet up for the next couple of weeks to ponder it while the Bunch can work on how to improve in 2013.
Team Stowie 8-3 and Brady’s Bunch 3-8.
Canton Bullldogs(90) def Team Simonoz(66)
Canton started off the season with pick 12 in the draft but have built a winning combination which ended the season with Team Stowie as having the best win/loss record and a deserving bye in the first matchup of the playoffs. I can’t remember Canton scoring below 90 points all season, a very consistent effort and a signal to the other teams still in the race for championship glory that to beat them you will need a score of 100 or more, not easy to do. This week Hilton(22), P Manning(20) and Vincent Jackson(17) were the best while Forte(6) will usually score more and Nicks will need to find room in the starting lineup. Team Simonoz had Dez Bryant(20) stand up for them all season while LeShoure(14) looks a likely prospect to stand with McFadden in the 2 RB positions. Like a few teams who missed their starting QB’s Simonoz was without Vick and Foles(4) will be better for the run going forward.
Canton Bullldogs 8-3 and team Simonoz 4-7
All playoffs and consolation final matchups are over 2 weeks, good luck to those in the main games while the rest of us will be coming for you in 2013. Could all teams playing in the consolation finals please continue to field full strength teams for the integrity of the competition. Thanks.
#1 Team Stowie bye
#2 Canton Bullldogs bye
#3 Billy Bass vs #6 Welcome Back Mr. Wallace
#4 The Jug-0-Naughts vs #5 Waito’s Warriors
