LEAGUE 1 BROUGHT TO YOU BY STOWIE
Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) 81 at Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) 83
Thats three losses in a row for TDs, all of them by single figures. Big scores from WR Green (26fpts) and new starting QB RGIII (24fpts) was not enough to over come UAs spread of nice scores from WR Fitzgerald (17fpts), TE Jared Cook (14fpts) and K Matt Prater (13fpts).
Massillon Tigers (Johnson) 82 at Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) 107
Fez makes his way back to the winners list thanks to QB Matt Ryan (21fpts) and Texans pair RB Foster (16pts) and WR Johnson (14fpts). For the Tigers, RB Ray Rice (20fpts) and the Falcons D/ST (15fpts) provided decent scores but other big names such as Newton (9fpts), Gore (4fpts) and Witten (0fpts) failed to impress.
Team Wiggles (wiggles) 60 at Team Stowie (stowie) 67
The Packers D/ST (4fpts) and TE Finley (6fpts) did enough during MNF to allow Stowie revenge for last seasons Fantasy Superbowl loss to Wiggles. Not many high scoreres in a defensive battle. One must wonder how many different proposals Wiggles has sent to TDs this week... the number will increase after Vick (6fpts) struggled again.
Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) 83 at TooSerious TooSeriousesses (walesy) 121
The chief knocked out the biggest score of the week to keep Maggotz winless. RB MJD (25fpts) was in vintage form showing his off season holdout is now a thing of the past. Big Ben (31fpts) and WR Megatron (22fpts) also put up big numbers. Maggotz must feel a touch unlucky after copping a number of injuries before and during Week 3 leaving big red Ps and Qs all over his roster.
Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) 116 at Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) 57
Once again one of last weeks big scorers was not able to back it up leaving Jimbowan as one of the only undefeated sides. Led by RB Charles (35fpts) jimbo had more than half his players hit double figures. Almost unbelieveably, bgts bench scored one less point than the starters despite 2 less players and a donut from injured RB Fred Jackson!
WEEK 4 SCHEDULE
Under Achievers (2-1) at Team Wiggles (2-1)
Show Me Ya TDs (0-3) at TooSerious TooSeriousesses (2-1)
Team Stowie (1-2) at Adelaide Maggotz (0-3)
Jimbos Juggernaut (3-0) at Massillon Tigers (1-2)
Lilydale Leather Heads (2-1) at Vicks Dog Fighters (2-1)
LEAGUE 2 BROUGHT TO YOU BY KARLOS
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=1&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Kings of Karlos @ Clovelly Kookaburras
The Kookaburras were at home looking for their first win but it was not to be in week 3. Kings of Karlos stayed undefeated on the back of huge games from Green and the Bears D who both went past 20 and this output was well complemented by double figures from Brady and Johnson. Could have been a big one for KOK but 5 scores 7 and below meant the 100 mark was just missed. The Kookaburras got great service from the Cardinals D but could only get double figures from Moore and Murray. Horrible games from Thomas, Smith, Vick and Hartline saw them contribute only 11 combined and they were out of this one early. KOK wins 99-66.
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=2&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Team Walles @ Team Short
After a strong week 1 things have been rough for Team Short with his fortunes mirroring those of his number pick 1 Rodgers. Coming up against the undefeated Team Walles his squad could only produce 2 double figure scores, his Lions D scored a negative and he left 4 players with a combined total of 65 on the bench. Team Walles on the other hand continued their high scoring ways with 24 from MJD, 18 from Wallace, 15 from both the TE Gonzalez and the Giants D and 11 from Spiller before injury. Even with little from his QB Newton this week Team Walles continues to win well and with multiple double figure scores on his bench each week looks strong. Oh what could of bean if Team Short could have got selection right, Team Walles wins well 103-54.
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=10&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Brons’ Allstars @ AllGuts NoGorey
Brons’ Allstars was looking for their first win against the vaunted NoGorey but didn’t really get close in this one. NoGorey got double figures from 7 of his 9 players making things just about impossible for his opposition. They were well led by huge contributions from Ryan and Megatron with 20+ each, 17 from Fitzgerald, 14 from Holmes, 12 from Bush and 11’s from Davis and the Bills D. With some nice players stashed on his bench I am still going with NoGorey as my early season favourite. Brons’ got 4 double figure contributions namely 19 from the ever consistent Brees, 14 from an improving Welker, 12 from brown and 13 from his kicker Gould. Brons has major RB issues at the moment and is bleeding points there every week, time to trade one of those good WR? NoGorey marches in with a 118-80 smashing.
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=12&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Wantirna Dum Dum’s @ Albuquerque AZTECS
Both teams came into this matchup at 1-1 but it would be the Dum Dum’s who would leave the crossroads of Albuquerque the happiest with a solid win. The Dum Dum’s were very well led by massive games from the waiver wire add Brown and RG3 who again went off for 20+. It was all about the RB’s with Richardson 10 and Lynch 9 being the only others to really contribute here and last weeks heights were never in sight. As well as RG3 did the Dum Dum’s could have gotten more from Big Ben on the bench with a 31. The AZTECS once again didn’t get enough from their 1st pick McCoy but did get double figures from Eli 15, Turner 14 and the kicker Prater 13. 6 players contributing 7 or less meant a win here was going to be tough. Once again a higher scoring QB was left on the bench with Daltons 24 but it wouldn’t have been enough anyway. The Dum Dum’s win 86-70 and move to 2-1.
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=9&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Team Greer @ Team Coleman
Team Coleman were at home looking for their first win and they did it behind a massive game from Charles who went off for 34! It was well complimented by Stafford with 18 which could have been more but for injury, 13 from the TE Cook, Bironas with 12, 10 from Lloyd and 9’s from the Jets D and Brown. Team Greer got solid contributions across the board but didn’t get the stand performance they needed to overhaul Charles effort. Palmer led the team with 18, Foster had 16, Johnson 12, Peterson 10 and 9’s from Nugent and Davis. The recent acquisition Reggie Bush was injured and only contributed 6 in a disappointing result for his new team. Team Greer remain extremely consistent with scores of 96-98-94 but Team Coleman get their first win 112-94.
<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&teamId=11&scoringPeriodId=3&seasonId=2012&view=scoringperiod&version=quick">Mount Gambier MontSTARS @ Team Mayhem
This was one ugly game folks some are even suggesting uglier than the call at the end of the Packers v Seahawks game! This was another game where both teams came in 1-1 and with only 3 double figure scores between the 2 teams it was a grind. It was no surprise that the team with 2 of these 3 scores – MontSTARS - took the win on the back of a Ray Rice 20 and a 10 from the kicker Bailey. Amazingly MontSTARS had 3 donuts amongst their remaining 7 players and 4 scores between 5 and 7. Team Mayhem got 17 from McFadden, 7 from Bowe, 6 from the kicker Akers with this being rounded out by 2 scores of 4 and 4 of 2. Both teams had bench players that with the right selection would have got them over the line. MontSTARS with a lucky win 55-46.
KEEPER LEAGUE BROUGHT TO YOU BY BGT2110
Canton Bullldogs (100) def Brady’s Bunch (93)
In a hard fought contest it was the bullldogs who improved their record to 3-0 with a close victory against Brady’s Bunch. Without the efforts of P. Manning, Flacco and the Bears d/st it would have been pretty ugly for the bullldogs who ate two donuts courtesy of Ben Tate and Jason Witten whilst the new recruit Daryl Richardson struggled with just 1 ftp. Forte and Nicks should be back shortly so all good at Canton. Brady’s Bunch are still playing one short with Flynn at QB but with Rice (20), MJD (24) and Gonzalez (15) turning the clock back Brady’s Bunch is more than capable of winning their fair share of games.
Jimbo’s Juggernaut (109) def Team Stowie (75)
Jimbo’s add the Jerry Rice Trophy to their cabinet with a convincing 34 point win over Team Stowie who would be disappointed with their efforts this week. For Jimbo it was Charles, Charles and more Charles who rushed for an incredible 233 yards and added a TD for 34 ftps. He sure did repay the faith shown in him after a slow start to the season. Andrew Luck and Jared Cook were impressive and if McCoy and Romo can all fire at once then Jimbo will be laughing. Mike Wallace was the sole double digit scorer for Stowie with 18 ftps. With Cam Newton struggling against a fired up Giants defence it was all too hard for Team Stowie this week. They will put this one behind them and rebound strongly next week. Perhaps Kolb will push Freeman from his starting QB position this week ??
The Jug-O-Naughts (113) def Team Simonoz (110)
The match of the round with the Jug-O-Naughts adding another trophy to their ever expanding trophy cabinet. This time it was the Aikman Medal for highest score this week and they needed every last point to overcome an impressive Simonoz outfit who fought it out until the very last game. Simonoz’s seahawks d/st weren’t quite able to topple Finlay’s efforts for the Jugs. For the losers Locker was the top scorer ably supported by McFadden, Martellus Bennett and Brandon Lloyd. For the Jug’s Brady and Ryan lived up to their reputation of being the number 1 QB combination whilst Michael Bush and Stephen Gostkowski helped get the Jug’s over the line. As a sidenote Simonoz had an incredible 81 ftps on the bench from 7 guys, enough to almost topple a few of the teams with 10 starters. Simonoz were very unlucky but the choices available to them once the byes hit will be daunting for the rest of us.
Candlestick 49’ers (110) def Rigil Kentaurus (98)
Well what does Rigil share in common with the New Orleans Saints ?....both are sitting 0-3 and the only teams in this league and the real thing yet to chalk up a win. The 49’ers are a very consistent outfit with double digit scores to a number of players. I was closely following the Pats V Ravens game at work on the internet and it seemed every second pass Brady threw went straight to Welker, he repaid the 49’ers this game with 14 ftps. Matt Schaub was terrific and with Brees and Turner scoring well it was a game that would give the 49’ers a lot of confidence going forward. For Rigil Torrey Smith was great, managing 2 TD’s in difficult personal circumstances whilst Julio Jones made amends for last week. Stafford is yet to live up to expectations whilst the flex position continues to haunt a few of the teams including Rigil’s.
Billy Bass (111) def Canuck Warriors (95)
It was the young brigade who came to the fore as Billy was able to outlast the previous unbeaten Canuck. The Andy Dalton / A J Green combination not only got the win for the Bengals but did the same for Billy, the combination scoring 49 ftps between them which was easily the highest scorers for the Bass. Although Rodgers was held to an uncharacteristic 9 ftps it was more than made up for by the falcons d/st and Robbie Gould who were on fire and a big reason why Billy was able to come out with the win. Canuck must be loving RG3, the redskins lost but RG3 still managed 24 ftps and in a keeper league is proving one of the most valuable players for many years to come. Fitzgerald returned to his best and with Foster and Eli Manning again amongst the highest scorers it is time for the other guys on the Canuck roster to step up, especially the Lions d/st which actually lost the Canuck 2 valuable ftps.
Welcome back Mr. Wallace (90) def Waito’s Warriors (84)
In a low scoring, dour affair it was Mr. Wallace who will be relieved to escape with the win against the warriors who had what can only be described as a week from hell. The warriors had 53 ftps between Roethlisberger and Calvin Johnson and a miserable 31 from the other 8 starters combined. Andre Brown was a great get from the waivers by the warriors but his 24 ftps was stuck on the bench. I can see him taking over from Ingram this week but finding a settled combination for the warriors is proving a challenge. Mr. Wallace made the hard/easy decision to bench CJ100yds and it was the right call with him again managing only 2 ftps. I am sure he will bust it open at some stage but will he be on the field or bench when he does ?? Carson Palmer again was a shining light for Mr Wallace whilst an even spread of scores from Spiller, Antonio Brown and Russell Wilson would have pleased Nick.
