THE KEEPER LEAGUE (Review by bgt2110)

The Jug-O-Naughts (104) def Welcome Back Mr Wallace (83)

Like a left jab and a right hook it was the dynamic Brady (31) / Ryan (24) QB combination that this week sent Mr Wallace to the canvass. It was lights out as soon as they combined for more than half of the Jugs score, with Peterson (12) and Austin (11) rounding it out for a convincing 21 point win which improved the Jugs record to an impressive 3 and 1. When i saw Mr Wallace had lost faith in CJ2K and started Battle in place of him i thought to myself “is he mad”...turns out Battle (19) was equal highest scorer with Marshall (19). CJ2k (15) showed signs of life but sitting on the bench was not able to help Mr Wallace, perhaps a spot can be found on the starting roster next week ?

&nbsp;

Team Stowie (101) def Team Simonoz (77)

Team Stowie were always going to bounce back this week and they did it in style after Newton(30) managed one of the highest individual scores of the round. The Panthers let slip a certain win but not Team Stowie, who with McGahee(19) and Gronk (14) were able to slam the lid shut on an up and down Simonoz outfit. Vick(17) was best for Simonoz, well supported by Bryant(12) and Lloyd(11) but they could only manage 77 points when last week just their bench combined for 81. If the Raiders didn’t have the bye this week then i’m sure Simonoz would be sticking a fire cracker up McFadden(3) who was disappointing. Team Stowie have an important match up next week against Mr Wallace and with Freeman having the bye it is time for Kolb to shine on the big stage. Team Simonoz meet Jimbo, both teams desperate for a win and it could be the byes having a big say in the outcome of that match.

&nbsp;

Waito’s Warriors (98) def Jimbo’s Juggernauts (84)

Both teams were missing their second QB because of the bye and each scored a goose egg with Hill not playing for Waito and Tebow not given a chance by the Jets when perhaps he would have done better than Sanchez’s efforts. More teams than just these two will find it hard covering their starters as the byes really start to bite. The warriors win came on the back of the Texans d/st(23) whilst young gun Richardson(15) and the warriors TE Chandler(18) made up for the unusual sight of seeing Calvin Johnson(5) in single figures.  Jimbo again relied on Charles(19) who is proving to be a very valuable scorer whilst Cruz(16) and Jackson(15) are proving to be a WR combination of envy for the rest of us. Jimbo really needed his number 1 QB Romo(6) to stand up but he went and threw 5 picks, the Cowboys lost, Jimbo lost....enough said.

&nbsp;

     Billy Bass (133) def Candlestick 49’ers (128)

Wowee what a contest, a real shootout with the 2 best QB’s in the game going head to head in the real thing as well as the more important matchup of Billy vs Candlestick. Like the real thing it was Rodgers(27) and Billy who prevailed against Brees(29) and Candlestick. Billy sealed the win on Roddy White’s (28) hail mary catch and a stunning 2 TD performance whilst Dalton and Green are getting it done for the Bengals and Billy....Bengals win >>Billy wins. Is it worse to score 128 and lose or 68 and lose, oh so close for Candlestick but geeesh they have a team of consistent scorers with Turner(22), Schaub(16) and Decker(13) all playing up to expectations whilst Vernon Davis(2) can be forgiven for his quiet one.

&nbsp;

Canton Bullldogs (152) def Rigil Kentaurus (110)

The Bullldogs smashed it with a whopping 152 and are this weeks deserving Aikman medallists for highest score in round 4. They improve their record to 4-0 and are the only unbeaten team in the league. Not bad for a team that had pick 12 in the draft but they have assembled a team that could easily be holding the championship trophy come season end to add to their already expanding trophy cabinet. P. Manning(25), Flacco(22), Lynch(20) and the Bears d/st(20) all scored over 20 points, where double digits is considered a good game there was no way the bullldogs were going to feel any sympathy for the still winless Rigil. I know Rigil keep hearing the words to Stevie Nicks’s song “WILL YOU EVER WIN ?” going round and round in their head because 0-4 is not where they had hoped to be a month into the season and next week looks particularly daunting missing their QB and RB through the bye and up against division rival Billy Bass who are sitting 3-1. This week Rigil were pleased that the 49’ers d/st(27) repaid the faith of a relatively early draft pick while Stafford(19) and Cutler(17) improved on the previous weeks score. Kudos to Torrey Smith(15) again whilst Brandon LaFool(0) can  get.....well he can try and improve next time.

&nbsp;

Canuck Warriors (147) def Brady’s Bunch (81)

Canuck are this weeks Jerry Rice Trophy holders with a slapping down over the Bunch by 66 points. Going to have to build a new trophy cabinet as Canuck seem to win one each week. Canuck had the foresight to start Hartline(31) over other WR contenders like Boldin and it certainly paid off after he went for 253 yds and 1 TD thank you very much. I have to admit i checked the FA waiver wire in case nobody had him but sure enough my old rival and friend had him on the field ha ha ha. Ridley(22), RG3(22) and Eli Manning(18) must be pleasing Canuck as they sit comfortably on 3-1. The Bunch struggled in a number of positions but WR’s Colston(21) and Nelson(15) played well with the Bengals d/st(15) helping to stop an even bigger blowout.

LEAGUE 2 (Review by Karlos)

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=1&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Kings of Karlos @ Team greer

The ever consistent Team greer played host to the lucky to be undefeated Kings of Karlos.  Team greer once again put together a very competitive score plugging Peyton Manning into the starting lineup after a week on the sidelines and being rewarded with a 25.  McGahee who was in some doubt scored a 19, Foster 14 and Peterson 12 kept things ticking.  Kings of Karlos got a massive 31 from Brady who was well supported by a pair of 17’s from Green and Morris.  But this game would come down to the defences with greer getting a very handy 15 from the Bengals but this was eclipsed by a huge performance from the Bears D who produced a 20 on Monday to carry KOK over the line.  Team greer scored their highest total of the season but would go down 118-107.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=10&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Brons’ Allstars @ Team Walles

Team Walles was the only other undefeated team coming into week 4 and things started well with a huge 30 from Newton.  Colston was plugged in for the first time this season to replace the BYE week Wallace and produced 21 with Gore the only other player in double figures for Walles with a 13 and no other player went past 7.  Brons’ Allstars also got a huge total from their QB Brees who rolled out 29, 13’s from Daniels and Decker, 11 from the kicker Gould and a 10 from Welker would help setup their first win of the season.  Both D’s produced negative scores but it would be the the Allstars with 2 more players in double figures who would get the win 90-83 breaking their losing streak and Walles winning streak in then process.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=7&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Team Short @ Wantirna Dum Dum’s

Team Short took on the high scoring (every other week) Wantirna Dum Dum’s.  This would be a high scoring game that would ultimately be decided on the surprising under performance of a Falcons star.  The Dum Dum’s pumped out multiple high double figure scores led by 22 from RG3, The Texans D with 23, Beastmode with 20, 16’s from Jackson and Cruz and 15 from Richardson.  Amazingly Gronkowski was left on the bench and produced 14 whilst Pitta score a donut but it would not come back to hurt the Dum Dum’s.  Team Short got a good performance from Rodgers back in form with a 27, 22 from the surprising Ridley, 15 from Smith, 12 from Sproles and 11 from Austin.  Team Short could have squeaked a win here but a horrible game from Julio Jones meant it wasn’t to be.  The Dum Dum’s win 118-110.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=6&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">AllGuts NoGorey @ Albuquerque AZTECS

The AZTECS came into this game looking to hit .500 for the season whilst NoGorey who had been scoring well proclaimed in the press he “had holes everywhere”.  NoGorey would be proved right putting in a shocker with only Ryan with a 24, the kicker Bryant 14 and Fitzgerald 12 scoring in double figures.  Negatives from the Bills D hurt and no other score over 5 which came from Megatron meant this was gonna be tough.  The AZTECS delivered in spades led by his Falcons with 28 from White and 22 from Turner, 18 from Eli, 16 from Prater and 13 from McCoy making this an easy win.  Things could have been even bigger for the AZTECS with the TE Chandler on the bench with 18.  The AZTECS double up NoGorey 110-55.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=8&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Clovelly Kookaburras @ Mount Gambier MonSTARS

The Clovelly Kookaburras came into this game looking for their first win of the season and they would get it behind a career game from a waiver wire pickup.  The Kookaburras added Hartline a couple of weeks back and were rewarded with a massive 31!  In the end this and a big performance from the kicker Zuerlein with 18 would prove to be the difference with handy contributions of 17 from Vick and no other player below 5.  The Mount Gambier MontSTARS would be well led with 19 from Marshall and 17 from Witten and they were supported by 12 from Bryant, 11 from the Ravens D and 11 from Williams.  The MonSTARS just didn’t go big enough with their double figure players but what hurt most was an 8 from the ever reliable Rice.  Hartlines carries the Kookaburras to their first win 107-88.

<a href="http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/boxscorequick?leagueId=822150&amp;teamId=4&amp;scoringPeriodId=4&amp;seasonId=2012&amp;view=scoringperiod&amp;version=quick">Team Coleman @ Team Mayhem

Team Coleman who broke the duck last week were looking to go 2-2 as was Team Mayhem.  Team Mayhem was rewarded by selecting the 49ers as the first defence in the draft this year as they shut out the Jets for a 27!  16 from Bowe, 15 from Jackson and 14 from Rivers were the others in double figures with only one other player the kicker Akers scoring over 5.  Team Coleman were led by Flacco with 22, 19 from Charles backing up last weeks monster game, 15 from Nelson, 11 from Lloyd and 10 from Benson meant they were right in this till the end.  Unfortunately donuts from the Jets D and the flex Maclin meant a win was not to be. Team Coleman will rue a missed opportunity here and Team Mayhem can thank the 49ers D for over a quarter of their score and the win 93-82.

LEAGUE 1 (Review by Stowie)

Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) 120 at Team Wiggles (Wiggles) 90
UAs smashed out the biggest score of the week with big thanks to WR Roddy White (29ftps) and the 49ers D/ST (27fpts). It couldve been a lot bigger too with WR Hartline (32fpts) warming the pine. For Team Wiggles, WR Colston (21fpts), RB McGahee (19fpts) and QB Vick (17fpts) provided good points.
Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) 89 at TooSerious TooSeriousesses (walesy) 86
The team with a name that always makes me giggle finally got a win on the board. RGIII (22fpts) and WR AJ Green (17fpts) provided the bulk of the points, while for the chief Flacco (22fpts), Ridley (22fpts) and the Ravens D/ST (11fpts) were the only ones to break double figures.
Team Stowie (stowie) 105 at Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) 81
Maggots is now the only team without a win yet this season. Good efforts from Rodgers (27fpts) and the Bears D/ST (20fpts) were not enough as RB Turner (23fpts), Eli Manning (18fpts), CJ0K (15fpts) and DeSean Jackson (15fpts) provided enough to get the job done for Stowie.
Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) 102 at Massillon Tigers (Johnson) 95
Jimbo remains undefeated with a team effort to defeat Johnson. Andy Dalton (21fpts) got the surprise start and led the scoring. He was well backed up by RB pair Jamaal Charles (19fpts) and waiver wire sensation Alfred Morris (17fpts). For Johnson, Cam Newton (30fpts) led the way but RB Ray Rice (8fpts) failed to deliver the big score needed.
Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) 119 at Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) 102
A quirk in the schedule (and there are a couple of them) saw the second matchup between these two teams and once again the Leather Heads managed a big score to defeat the Dog Fighters. Brees (30fpts), the Texans D/ST (23fpts) and WR combo Bowe (16fpts) / Cruz (16fpts) made up for disappointing performances from RB Greene (3fpts) and WR Floyd (2fpts). Fez ate two active donuts with TE Pitta and the Jets D/ST leaving way to much for QB Ryan (26fpts), Beastmode Lynch (20fpts) and WR Brandon Marshall (19fpts) to make up.
WEEK 5 SCHEDULE
TooSerious TooSeriousesses (2-2) at Massillon Tigers (1-3)

Adelaide Maggotz (0-4) at Under Achievers (3-1)

Show Me Ya TDs (1-3) at Vicks Dog Fighters (2-2)

Jimbos Juggernaut (4-0) at Team Wiggles (2-2)

Lilydale Leather Heads (3-1) at Team Stowie (2-2)
