In both of the TS NFL leagues there were some close matchups, some blowouts, playoff changing wins and losses. There were standout performances and there were players who could have given a lot more. How did your team fare in week 9 ? Which players got you the win ? Which players were you cursing ? For all the reviews and commentary for week 9 please join Stowie and myself as we wrap up all of the results.

    LEAGUE 1 (REVIEW BY STOWIE)

    WEEK 9 RESULTS

Jimbos Juggernaut (jimbowan) 78 def Under Achievers (UnderAchievers) 79

The Under Achievers score a crucial one point win keeping their playoff chances well and truly alive. It was Issac Redman (20fpts) doing the damage with support from Philip Rivers (14fpts). Jimbos had good performances from Reggie Wayne (13fpts) and Jimmy Graham (13ftps) but injuries to Charles and Harvin proved costly. The Dolphins D/ST (-3fpts) almost cost UA the win.

Show Me Ya TDs (wateman) 137 def Team Wiggles (Wiggles) 102

Wiggles would have been jumping for joy with ADP (31fpts) winding back the clock and putting up big points, but it didnt last long... Rookie Doug Martin (54fpts) exploded for the TDs scoring four touchdowns. The 54fpts ranks right up there with the best fantasy performances ever (Fez has the numbers) and more importantly keeps TDs in the race for a playoff spot.

Vicks Dog Fighters (Fez) 124 def TooSerious TooSeriousesses (walesy) 55

Last week having two players on the bye cost TooSerious the win, this week they had one but it didnt influcence the result. The Dog Fighters had big scores from Marshall (30fpts) and Beastmode Lynch (20fpts) while Peyton Manning (19fpts) continues his excellent season coming back from injury.

Massillon Tigers (Johnson) 89 def by Adelaide Maggotz (Maggots) 108

Maggotz continue their good run after a slow start, as they continue to follow Aaron Rodgets (26fpts) fortunes. The Bears D/ST (26fpts) have aslo been huge for Maggotz as they average 5fpts more than the next best team and have cracked 20fpts four times! Johnson were led by up and down QB Cam Newton (21fpts) and the ever reliable Ray Rice (15fpts).

Team Stowie (stowie) 84 drew Lilydale Leather Heads (bgt) 84

A game of what ifs as both side had high scoring bench players including Leshoure (25fpts) for Stowie and his RB partner Joique Bell (16fpts) for the Leather Heads. Of those that did play Cobb (17fpts) and Brees (15fpts) did their thing for bgt while Forte (20fpts) led for Stowie. The draw adds further complications to the crowded 3rd and 4th playoff positions.

    WEEK 10 SCHEDULE

Massillon Tigers (3-6) at Jimbos Juggernaut (6-3)
Team Wiggles (4-5) at Lilydale Leather Heads (6-2-1)
TooSerious TooSeriousesses (3-6) at Show Me Ya TDs (4-5)
Under Achievers (4-5) at Adelaide Maggotz (4-5)
Team Stowie (4-4-1) at Vicks Dog Fighters (6-3)

THE KEEPER LEAGUE (REVIEW BY bgt2110)

    Waito’s Warriors(144) def Canuck Warriors(66)

In warrior vs warrior it was Waito’s mob who inflicted a nasty defeat on Canuck in only their third loss for the season. It was lights out once Martin(51) ran, caught and did everything else in between for a near record fantasy points score. Any team which has one person scoring over 50 is not going to lose too often but that would also sell short the other members of Waito’s team including Rivers(14), Richardson(12) and Calvin Johnson(12) who contributed to the overall highest score for the round and biggest winning margin. Canuck are still sitting equal top but it will be a wake up call for the team who relied on Foster(17), RG3(13) and Fitzgerald(13) to add some respectability.

Both teams now sit on a 6-3 record.

    Candlestick 49’ers(116) def Jimbo’s Juggernaut(102)

It was drinks all round for the 49’ers who notched up only their second win for the season against a Juggernaut team who would be disappointed to go down in a tight contest. Candlestick now get bragging rights over their Raiders supporting foe so this was an important win wrapped up mainly due to Decker(21), Schaub(18), Turner(16) and the icing on the cake score from Brees(15) in MNF. For Jimbo he will be licking his wounds but the performance of Luck(25) who had a record setting passing yards game from a Rookie would have brought a smile to Jimbo’s face and with Romo(16) and Desean Jackson(16) making the contest a close one it will be bring on derby number 2 next time.

    Candlestick 49’ers 2-7 and Jimbo’s Juggernaut 3-6.

Welcome back Mr. Wallace(131) def Billy Bass(111)

It was always going to take a mighty effort and a huge score to knock off equal leader Billy and Mr. Wallace delivered nicely in what was Mr. Wallace’s best game of the year. Hard decisions are having to be made each week by Mr. Wallace as his team has so much depth that this week alone 84 points were sitting on the bench as well as the 131 on the field. The choice to leave Wilson(20) and Chris Johnson(16) on the bench didn’t hurt Mr. Wallace this week because Marshall(30), Palmer(28), Wayne(13) and Graham(13) put in match winning performances, especially Marshall who is a big reason why the Bears are 7-1. I wonder if any of the teams have been in contact with Mr. Wallace in regards to a possible Johnson trade....hmmm i know i’ve thought about it. Billy would normally walk away pleased with a score of 111 so he can’t be too upset about losing to a better team this week, although falling a game behind the leaders will hurt no matter which way you look at it. Rodgers(25), AJ Green(15), Dalton(14) and the Bronco’s d/st(12) did all they possibly could for Billy but it just wasn’t enough.

Both teams now have a 5-4 record.

    The Jug-O-Naughts(103) def Canton Bullldogs(100)

In the match of the round it was the Jug-O-Naughts who scraped home with a 3 point win in a highly entertaining and hard fought match up between two of the higher placed teams on the ladder. The Jugs would be wrapped with Peterson(31) who looked like he could have matched Martin’s record breaking day and with Skelton(14) doing all that the Jugs needed him to do whilst Brady was on his bye it was an important win for the Jugs in their quest for playoff action. The Bullldogs would be pleased with the efforts of their top draft choices in Forte(20), Lynch(20) and P Manning(19) with Vincent Jackson(14) having a great season but for the second week in a row their d/st starter has contributed negative points which needs to be fixed in a hurry.

Both teams now share equal league leader records of 6-3.

    Rigil Kentaurus(134) def Team Stowie(85)

In Rigil’s best game for the year so far it continued the trend of underdog overcoming the more fancied opposition to make this round a defining one in the overall scheme of things. Rigil had double digit scorers in all positions apart from RB where Hillis(1) was filling in for Gore who had the bye. This time it was the “Bear” factor that got Rigil the win with Cutler(20), Gould(16) and the bears d/st(26) who had 2 TD’s in the opening quarter that left Stowie trying to catch up all weekend. Although the loss was a big one for Team Stowie it was not the fault of Newton(21), Cobb(17) or Freeman(17), the latter two in particular are having huge recent performances.

Rigil Kentaurus 3-6 and Team Stowie 6-3.

    Team Simonoz(74) def Brady’s Bunch(54)

A low scoring encounter between two teams needing a win to build confidence for the last few games of the regular season saw Simonoz raise his arms in victory. A big reason for the win was Leshoure(25) who had a day out while Vick(17) and the seahawks d/st(10) proved too much for the Bunch who will welcome back Alex Smith next week with open arms. Injuries are hurting the Bunch harder than most with Jones-Drew and Jennings out indefinitely but with Rice(15), Colston(10) and Steve Smith(10) performing strongly most weeks it is always tough to get a win against them

Both teams have a 3-6 record.
