We are closing in on our best ranking, after another decent round, moving up almost 400 spots to be ranked 1,428th now!  We scored 2,460 this week, with our only real stuff up being the goo on the bench (but that only lost us 20 odd points).

We didnt do any trades last week. We went with Swan as cap which was pretty good as he had 130+ but there were a few ahead of him - <a href="http://tooserious.net/if-my-captains-were-perfect-i-would-be/comment-page-2#comment-106981" target="_blank">and on that note, you can see a compilation of our captains choices over here..[/url]. And our bench selections were pretty good, starting Heppell and ISmith over the likes of Jacobs and Richardson; however Mzungu was on the pine and scored 14 and 22 more than ISmith and Heppell respectively.

Now I dont usually write about league performances, except for a passing comment here and there, but its the end of the home-and-away season now so I thought I should give an update. We won all 5 league games this week so we got good form going into the finals, and over the break will be the details of those finals etc, and also the usual individual players points from round 20::::

Now onto the leagues:

In our best league (ranked 61st) - tough nuts - we finished 5th, 1 game out of the top 4, even though we finished 1st on total points! But even more harsh was that the 2nd ranked team by points - <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=1120">Elvstroem[/url] - finished 3rd last in the league!! We play against <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=48263">TWOANDAHALFGOALS[/url] in the elimination final.

Next best league (ranked 167th) - TooSerious Donors - we also finished 1st on total points, but this time we backed it up with a league ranking of 1st as well. We play against the <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=47449">Bayside Hawks[/url] in the 1st final.

We also finished 5th in the next best ranked league (222nd) - TSstragglers - but this time we werent the best scoring team, but we were 3rd. We play <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=13122">Scorcher IV[/url] in the elimination final

In our only other TS league (ranked 5,194th!) - Stockholm Cup - we finished top scorer but could only manage 4th (although not 5th thanks to a healthy %), so we play against <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=13122">Scorcher IV[/url] in this one as well, but not elimination here.

We are in one other league that was not advertised on TS, but was created by a TS member - <a href="../profile?u=Vic_Bitter">Vic_Bitter[/url] - its ranked 3,208th, and we finished 3rd in both points scored and on the ladder. And as it turns out, we are playing against my mrs - <a href="http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/?p=other_teams&amp;lid=1&amp;tid=2846">anthak II[/url] - in this league.

Anyway, theres an update. We have not been focusing on leagues all season, and I dont expect that to change, but I thought it would be interesting to track the teams progress through the finals.

As with most teams, we may be a bit light on in the rucks this week, but well have to wait and see what happens with team selections i suppose. I have set up a forum thread earlier on, so lets work out what to do this week.
