Hi guys, Just a shout out to anyone who's got an interest in cycling and fantasy games (ok the last part applies to all on here ) about a fantasy competition chels and I are participating in. It's called velogames, here's the link. Vuelta starts tomorrow night our time so need to be quick setting up but it doesn't take too long. League code is 19014058 Basically the whole thing is you have 100 points to pick 9 riders, - 2 All-Rounders, 2 Climbers, 1 Sprinter, 3 Domestiques and 1 wildcard (from any category). Anyway, feel free to keep chels and I company in the league, its a simple but entertaining game, if you have any questions about it or whether XXX is a good cyclist to to pick etc etc, just ask.
I'm in Port! Cheers mate, always good to have different fantasy games to enter in, just widens our sport knowledge and love for a new sport, cycling is a good idea. Will jump in, in a sec.
many thanks for setting this up Port. Sainter has the right idea - another sport, another interest. The Vuelta is the third of the grand tours (Cadel won the Tour de France - leg two of the three). Have a look at Pave (http://www.pavepavepave.com/) and cyclingnews (http://www.cyclingnews.com/) for some good form guides. regards chels
Cheers chels and port, very good idea and just entered the league, also chels, cheers for the form guides! Not sure how competetive my team will be, but we'll see how it goes.
this is the fantasy game that happens while you sleep - a good reason to get up in the morning and check results. BTW, for insomniacs I understand it is live on SBS, an interest may be what helps you relax - lool regards chels
In the domestiques section there is some quality bargains. If you look up recent results you should be able to spot them. Getting the cheap Doms can help when you want to get an expensive climber/sprinter etc

I forgot about the Velogames during le Tour (only paid attention to the SBS one), I'll set up a team now. Im going overseas for 3 weeks so a fantasy game where I dont have to pay attention will do perfectly! Watch out GreenHedge!
I'm in. Love the set and forget aspect. Looking forward to seeing how my team goes now! Thanks for letting us know about this.

Turns out I already got that bloke anyway. But he was my last picked, and was the position that most time was spent on. I was rapt I found out about him. Anyway, it's a good thing to share the love - I just wish I had have realised a couple of hours ago. Haha I'm off to bed now.
Im a huge NHL fan Sainter. I threw out the idea last year and not many were keen. However with the probable lack of an NBA season, we may be able to get a league together. Maybe throw the question in the NFL thread aswell, or start up a new thread. Count me in anyway!
Fantastic UA, thought I'd be the only one interested!!! Good to have someone else follow NHL, I'll add you as a "friend" and just shoot me through your email, thoughts on Date, Time etc, Season is from October 6th and the 2 weeks of finals start on March 11th. Will put it up in the NFL thread, cheers mate.
Yeah bit of an obvious hint but he should really stick out like a sore thumb once you know who he is and what's he's done. I've tried to go for either all who are targeting gc or good finishers. Its always hard to find the domestiques who will score well so you just have to go with those you know can deliver results. There are a lot of what ifs with the Vuelta also as some will have eyes fully focused on the Worlds. Like I said before, the offer is there if anyone wants any thoughts on a rider. I can only say what I know so may not be 100% accurate info but may give people a better idea. With 198 riders, its always hard to find out who's who. Just be quick though, 11 hours left till entries close.
Ahhh sainter.... He was someone that I thought I may have heard of but then wondered why he would be so cheap if I had heard of him. He is someone who is in a position I spent about an hour searching for info about. And He is someone that the clue up top of this (2nd) page pretty much tells you all about.
