Tigers were bundled out of the finals by the 9th[span style='font-size: 16px;] placed team. This
is somewhat ironic however, as a Richmond supporter, I'd rather brush over this
point rather than explore it. An improvement in morale and better chemistry in
the team formed a pretty strong force for the Tigers. Brandon Ellis, Daniel Jackson
and Nick Vlastuin were the standout performers with better than expected
seasons. From a SuperCoach perspective, Deledio, Cotchin and Riewoldt were a
little disappointing but were still able to score relatively well. 2013 may
have ended in disappointment, but it appears that Richmond may be entering
their most successful period of football for a long time.

again. They have a number of easy games and natural improvement should turn
those 50/50 games into a few more wins. Looking at SuperCoach prices, there is
plenty of value throughout the team. While you don't want to be selecting too
many players from the same club, below should give you a rough idea as to who you
should consider from the yellow and black.

TS FANTASY NBA - Round 15 review
It is down to the business end of the season where owners are either looking forward to the finals or have started planning for next year.
Premier League (by Steve)
There is only one finals spot still in doubt in the Premier League. The equation is simple for Walesy, if he wins this round against Karlos he is in the finals. However if he loses, the following comes into play:
<ul style='list-style-type: disc;]
<li style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]If Steve wins this week and Walesy loses, Steve still needs to outscore Walesy by 693 pts this round as they will both have a record of 8-8, however the person with the best total points for will go through to the finals. At the start of this round, Walesy's total points for was 693 pts higher than Steve's. After day 2, this total points margin has been reduced to 548 so Steve is well on his way to reducing this deficit, hahaha. </li>
<li style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]
</li>
</ul>
Onto the reviews for round 15.
Jasmine's Mob (2-12) 1371 defeated Feel the Love (7-8) 1176
Jasmine delivered a crushing blow to the final's chances of Feel the Love this round and win was thoroughly deserved. She was due for a change of luck as not much has gone right for her this season. Games played were 39 all. The surprise packet Randy Foye led the way with (172/4), followed by Gibson (160/4) and Hickson (151/4). This match will haunt Feel the Love for a very long time as they had their chances but were let down by some of their bigger names. Only 3 players broke the 100 pt mark this round - Love (129/2), Dragic (183/3) and Calathes (139/4).
King of Karlos (13-2) 1876 defeated Ruddy's Cavaliers (6-9) 1266
The final's dream for Ruddy ended this week with the loss to Karlos. Once again Karlos was far too strong for their opposition. Games played were 44-38 in favour of Karlos. Durant was the best again with (275/4), next...

Erstwhile coach of the ORFFA's Foul Bay franchise Chief Russell has kindly volunteered his time to put together the 2014 ORFFA premiership betting market, as well as review the 2013 ORFFA season predictions he made around 12 months ago. As the ORFFA trade period progresses, with the pre-season draft upcoming, we thought it would be a good time to share this update via the ORFFA and TS blog. Enjoy everyone.
Team: Iron Knob
2014 Odds: 2.50 (fav.)
Rationale: Were clearly the best team last year, but had their worst game when they could least afford to in the first week of the finals. Looked unbeatable prior to that. Some will claim that the bookie is trying to deflect attention, but go and look at last year's end of Home and Away season ladder and points for.
2013 Odds:5.00 (2nd)
2013 Position: 1st after H&A, 5th after finals
How did I go? Got it pretty much correct (was a no-brainer)
Team:Foul Bay
2014 Odds:3.00
Rationale:Don't quite have the Best 15 firepower of Iron Knob, but might have slightly better depth in the forwards and ready to play mids. Just got to nail team selections.
2013 Odds:3.00 (1st)
2013 Position:3rd after H&A, 1st after finals
How did I go?Finals series saved some egg on the face.
Team:Mount Beauty
2014 Odds:5.00
Rationale:Said last year that they had the best young talent on their list. They are now ready to go. Coach Bama has clearly realised this, adding established 100+ scorers in Boyd and NRoo to the lineup for next to nothing. The big movers in the premiership race. Easily the best forward line and rivaling Iron Knob and Cradle Mountain for best mids. Defence only thing stopping me from guaranteeing them a top 4 finish at the very, very least.
2013 Odds:14.50 (12th)
2013 Position:11th
How did I go?Bookies will take that result.

As part of a series of articles from TooSerious writers to be featured on the Herald Sun website over the pre-season, last week I had a look at the value of POD players in SuperCoach. The story changed names a few times along the way, and picked up some extra bits in editing such as an extended introduction and calling Mike Pyke a banana, but rest assured this is the original piece. I didn't have access to the stats on how many teams players are currently in, so that isn't included here, and the list of players at the bottom of the article only includes brief notes as to why they have potential upside this year.
Either way enjoy, and as always feel free to discuss in the comments.
The Value of POD's
In SuperCoach player selection always comes down to one basic equation, asking price vs scoring potential.
As simple as that may seem, the more you try to analyse it the more complex it becomes. With an almost infinite amount of variables, and the majority of them entirely subjective, scoring potential is something that simply cannot be measured.
Picking a good POD (Point Of Difference) in SuperCoach is therefore very difficult, but as we'll see it can also be very rewarding.
Other recent articles have already covered the tactics and strategies of team structures, so here we'll look at how valuable some of the 2013 POD's were to their coaches.
By definition a POD is a player that is not in the majority of teams, so the inherent risk in selecting them is that if they aren't effective you not only lose points to a lot of people, you also have to burn some trades to fix the problem. Vice versa, when they are effective you can find yourself rising through the ranks or dominating your leagues pretty quickly.

Let's set the ground rules for RMT, nice and clear.
1. In order to get feedback on your own team, you must first provide feedback on the teams that have been recently posted. This is the golden rule and is what makes this whole thing work.
2. If you just post your team without giving any feedback, your post will be deleted.
3. Please refrain from commenting on teams that have been posted by others that have not followed the golden rule.
4. Keep it civil. Constructive criticism is fine. But there is a line and please don't cross it.
To kick things off, I'll put my current SC team up for discussion.
<img alt='' style='width: 647px; height: 822px;' src='/Portals/0/Users/222/74/4574/RMT%20Mid%20Feb%202.png[/img]
I think it's all about mid-pricers this year. By that, I mean players who are in the $350k to $500k range.
Search hard, find that value and follow your instincts! Or just tell me I'm dreaming and where I've gone wrong.

TooSerious: Rolled over for 2014.
That's right peeps and peepettes, TS, that stats delivering site that you all love, it rolled over for a new season!
Stats are up, Calcs are up, Ticker is up, Draft Planner is up- but I'll talk more about that later.
So yeah, site is rolled over. We've got SuperCoach, Dreamteam and AFL Fantasy set up thus far and will add any other comps as they get released.
#ValeCenterbet
As always, let me know if I've missed something! I know that the auto-team-upload still needs to be fixed for the new season, but outside of that, should be cool.

Well, the latest feature of TS,Draft Planner, does the heavy lifting for you.
So, what is Value Based Drafting? VBD is a method that allows you to rank players, across different positions, into the one master list, by comparing how much better each player is than any lower ranked replacements.
It sounds difficult, but the math behind it is quite simple, firstly, you grab a baseline for each position. The baseline is derived by grabbing the worst possible score for that position.
So, for example, if you only needed a single ruck, in a competition of 8, then based on last years results, you'd be looking at Naitanui, and his average of 96 as the baseline. Which would score Goldstein, and his 114 average as an18. Considering you're looking at around 40 from a top round pick, you'd be silly to grab him early. In fact, looking at the numbers, you'd grab him at around Round 10.
However, if you needed two rucks, the baseline suddenly drops down to an 88, giving Goldstein a 26 and more of a 3rd round rating.
So it's a formula, that is completely dynamic across whatever competition, and whatever format it runs.
How does it work?
First thing you want to do is create a team for your competition. Once you've done that, you're able to enter in the number of positions across each spot that you need to fill (And a bench spot if you have wildcard spots.)
After you've done that, you can simply hit the Generate Draft List button and you've got yourself a quick draft.
Of course, players don't average the same thing year in, year out, so we've got the ability to get in there and change what you think will happen. Think JPK will go nuts and average 141- throw it in and you'll find him right up at the pointy end of your draft.
You can then add...
