For those who take it way too seriously

We like fantasy sports here, and certainly like applying said fantasy knowledge to win some of the monies, so I'd be remiss not to point this little ditty out to you guys.

<li style='background-image: url('http://www.thesuperboot.com.au/img/icon-plus.png'); margin: 8px; padding-top: 7px; padding-bottom: 7px; padding-left: 50px; background-position: 0% 50%; background-repeat: no-repeat;]You can't select the same player more than twice during the course of the 2014 Australian Football League Premiership season.</li>
<li style='background-image:...
Don't be seduced by line St Kilda are rebuilding and need get games into kids&amp;rdquo; and automatically think the Saints are relevant in 2014, because the cold hard truth is that they are not relevant at all. You might think that's little bit harsh, but in all seriousness apart from few players (who I'll touch on later), on the whole the Saints don't have a lot to look forward to in fantasy world in 2014.

The Saints will play the kids, but they will be heavily rotated like in 2013 meaning unless you want slow burning cash cows you should steer well clear. The kids will probably play 3-5 games, with couple those as a sub at a time. Then they'll go back to VFL for few weeks, hit the gym and work on other areas of their game and thus allowing more kids to play 3-5 games in AFL. The rebuild will be about getting as much time into as many players on the clubs list as possible.

If you look at new kids that played in 2013, you'll see they all played 7-11 games across the entire season.

Tom Curren - 7 games (7 games in row, 21 year old rookie)
Brodie Murdoch - 8 games (2, 4, 1, 1)
Nathan Wright - 8 games (5, 1, 2)
Tom Lee - 10 games (2, 7, 1)
Josh Saunders - 10 games (2, 1, 7)
Jimmy Webster - 11 games (7 and 4)

Whilst few those played 7 games in row, they were mainly in back half of season and they were used as sub on occasion during that time. These kids will also be high on list to be pushing for more game time this year, making it harder for new guys to break into the side. The recruitment of Josh Bruce, Luke Delaney, Shane Savage and Billy Longer also push younger, mature players into the frame before the raw 18 year olds.

One of the other major factors in looking at how Saints will approach the rebuild is that in only couple of seasons the entire list has completely changed. The Saints only have 16 players on their list that they drafted/traded into the club before the 2011 AFL Draft....
Honeychurch and Daniel Pearce are high on my list tonight from the Dogs. For the Saints, there's that rucking structure that Thunda keeps mentioning and of course, Shane Savage.
Who are you guys looking at tonight?

Ok, if you've been following along at home today- so far it's 3 for the bad guys.

But, being the tenacious young scallywag I am, have launched another salvo!

We are back on the new servers- and so far, those bugs reported last release are all gone.

Woot!
The pre-season derby. No fancy pants tops for the crows though. awww.
No Wingard, or Lobbe for the Power which are probably the two premiums that most will be looking for. They do have Polec out on the ground though which is nice.
Good to see Matty Crouch having a run around, and someone please hit me with a stick, but I really want Wright to do well.

Two teams that finished mid table, both hoping to take a step up this year.
But where will the improvement come from? Dal Santo will certainly help the Roos, but where exactly will he fit in and how will it effect his numbers? Cunnington was a gun clearance player last year, will he break out through more touches this year? Atley, will he breakout this year and deliver on what was promised so many years ago.
And what about McDonald? Already locked into everyones squad. How will he go?
On the Blues side, Yarran is due to deliver right around now, and personally, I think McInnes might be the very definition of smokey this year. It's a shame that Daisy has been pulled out, chest infection they say.

Is this a game that's worth reporting? Man, what a stomping!

I guess though, like last night, it's more about the individual efforts and team plan as a whole, rather than the 100+ margain

Still, it's tough to get too much out of a game that see's one team playing 4 guys who have played more than 50 games, and the other team, coming off a premiership.

Biggest news for mine: Suckling is back! 19 disposals, 70SC and a couple of cracks on goal. Great to see him back out on the park.

Mitchell is probably already locked into everyone's backline, and the ease at which he racked it up tonight should only solidify that. 33 disposals and 118SC was a tidy return for the premium defender.

Gunston will be suddenly on a lot of radar's, with Buddy gone, the big fella stepped up kicking the first two goals of the game, with 5 in total. Tackled well as well, and cracked the ton with a 102SC.

Every man and his dog this morning seems to want to talk about Rioli and his work in defence. Personally, he can play where he wants- he's still got a big black injury-threat line through his name!

Over on the Lions side, with *so* many players missing, it's bloody tough to make any real calls.

Aish looked good, which makes me happy. Perhaps not good enough for the premium price tag, but it was his first hit out, and without Brisbanes actual team around him, there was an obvious class difference between him in his first game and well, the premiers. Still, 14 touches and 53SC for the youngster.
