For those who take it way too seriously

<p style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]There was a little talk preseason about fantasyAFL draft leagues. There are plenty of options out their now - Supercoach Draft, Dream Team Elite, Ultimate Footy etc etc etc. Tell us about their strengths and weaknesses as those of us who aren't involved may choose to avoid again next year or jump aboard to get another fantasy fix.
<p style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]Are fantasyAFL draft leagues more or less interesting than regular Supercoach, Dream Team, Sportsbet and similar comps, and why ??
<p style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]If you have created an fantasyAFLdraft league with mates tell us why it's the best thing since sliced bread or was fun at first but now has fallen apart.
<p style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]If you could make all the decisions that need to be made what would make the best fantasyAFL draft league format?, ie I'd be keen to know
<p style='margin-bottom: 10pt;]-Do you prefer to participate in a keeper league or draft afresh completely every year?
- Do you prefer a live” draft over one (or more) night/s or a longer draft with a 12/24 hours time limit for each pick.
- Do you like trading during the season, having a midseason draft or both.
- Is a salary cap a good idea in a draft league and how should it work through the season.
- Do you have a 3 week break over the rd11/12/13 byes, play with reduced squad sizes, or have another creative solution such as
- picking teams as normal but counting each players best score only during rounds 11-13
- having round 11 scores count as normal, then completign the round with the 6 bye teams scores from round 12 (not counting other games from round 12 and then having round 13 off)
- Do you prefer leagues where the number of teams and team size means the worst players are mid pricers” or do you get a kick out of larger leagues or team sizes where teams are copping donuts or putting out spuds and rookies to make up the numbers
- Don't forget scoring systems,...

In a battle between the reigning 2012 ORFFA premier and a team which made the grand final from seventh on the ladder, it was always going to be a challenge for the lower ranked team to make a contest of proceedings.
Team selections did little to help the build-up to the big game - a mysterious case of 'Ross-itis' felling a Chicken defender (Johnson) as well as a Guim forward (Walters).
Both teams were forced to make two further changes, with McLean and Broughton injured for Foul Bay, while Newnes (injured) and Edwards (suspended) couldn't be considered for Darraweit.
The Chickens opened up a sizeable early lead due to the efforts of Roughead and Mumford. The Big Mummy in particular was in fine form. Brad Hill tried hard in the early going for the Dirigibles, the youngster capping off a solid first season at the Guim with a pleasing score.
Ross-itis hit the Chickens hard on Saturday, with Garrick Ibbotson struck down and unexpectedly unable to take his place on the field. This left the Chickens one player short and opened up a glimmer of hope for Darraweit Guim.
Poor scoring from Pavlich and Dan Pearce didn't help the situation, but this was only a blip on the radar as Selwood, Bartel,...

On Friday night it was JPK (103) against Jughead (118), with Archie's mate narrowly shading 'Joey' (HIS NAME IS JOSH FFS ROOSY) with a bag of goals. On Saturday Ross The Boss pulled a Hornsy on Hornsy and sent his B-team over to Melbourne and to the slaughter. I thought it was pretty funny even if the Savages were missing 3 of their top liners in Mundy, Mayne and Ibbo. With no one to feed him the ball though, Disappointment Danyle Pearce (42) struggled to get a touch.

It's that time of year again. Spring is just around the corner and yours truly is in another grand final. Oh the joys of being alive! This past week in the ORFFL we've seen Warburton travel up the mountain only to suffer from oxygen deprivation at the halfway point, and in the second preliminary final, probably the match of the season - two point scoring titans neck and neck until the final quarter of Sunday's match. It was a classic and I was proud to be a part of it. There would have been no shame in losing to Mallacoota on the weekend. They are capable of some truly magical feat on the fantasy footy field.
